Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to the world of bitcoin but I've realized that a big problem with such a volatile currency is monitoring how the prices change. So, in an effort to solve my own problem, I have created a bitcoin price alert service that sends notifications via text/SMS or e-mail. Check out http://www.coinpatrol.com and let me know what you think! I would like to promote this service in the services forum eventually. Currently the following exchanges are supported: 1. MtGox 2. Bitstamp 3. Btc-e 4. Coinbase The following coin types are supported: 1. Bitcoin 2. (Litecoin coming) And the following fiat types are supported: 1. USD Cool. I use the Bitcoin Checker app on my smartphone to do something similar.

Hi guys, I'm developer and currently working on litecoin port of electrum client. Porting server was trivial and it seems to be working fine, yet needs testing... Anyway, I would really appreciate the ability to ask if such application is a good idea at all. Also, some testnet-litecoins from this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=308725.0would come in handy. So, please whitelist me

[This post really belongs in Projects area, but seems I'm restricted because new account here] Rarebit is a protocol designed to enable collectible digital works to be issued and traded on the bitcoin network. Using a Rarebit client, an artist or author can issue digitally signed limited editions of a work online, and collectors can trade units of the edition with the assurance they are authentic. Whitepaper: http://rarebit.github.io/project/doc/rbprimer.htmlBaseline reference client: http://rarebit.github.io/project/client/min *runs in the browser (implemented in client-side javascript); early beta suitable mostly for demonstration at this time. Protocol summary: 1. A work is signed by the author: A digital certificate is created to accompany the work, and a bitcoin address is generated that uniquely identifies the signed work. 2. Editions of a signed work are issued by the author: Transactions are broadcast to the bitcoin network that record the work's ID and quantity. 3. Units of an edition are aquired and traded among collectors: a. The author signs over units to collectors in new transactions. b. Current owners sign over units to new owners in additional transactions. 4. The provenance of a unit is demonstrated: The linked transactions stored in bitcoin's public ledger are scrutinized to ensure a unit originates from the author and has not been duplicated. A work is typically a digital file such as a photo, video, or ebook. Rarebit, like bitcoin, is "trustless", i.e., confidence is placed in cryptographic proof instead of a central authority. Rarebit is not a copyright enforcement ("digital rights management") scheme. The protocol defines no capability for restricting how a work can be consumed. Rarebit merely distinguishes collectible copies from all others.

Hello all, My mission is technically not a business - but an organization nonetheless. I have experience in working and administering political campaigns for candidates at the local, state, and federal levels of government. I originally stumbled upon bitcoin about six months ago and recently made some moves into litecoin. I'm really interested in ensuring that bitcoin and other forms of virtual currency is available for a very long time. Unfortunately, I think that many politicians and regulators (mostly at the federal level) are out to stop virtual currency and degrade its usability. I've received IRS designation for a formally structured political action committee (PAC) that accepts virtual currency. The purpose of the PAC is to promote political activities that support virtual currency and defend against efforts to stop or diminish the usability of them. The PAC website, www.coinpac.org is nearing completion and should be fully operational in another couple of days. If successful, this will be the first formally structured PAC to accept and contribute in the name of bitcoin and virtual currency. I could really use some assistance from bitcoin users on this forum. I'd like to actually set up an advisory committee of interested people to guide the decision making of the organization. The PAC has already made national news and I've been contacted by others. This is really a lot of work - please help! This will make history!

I've started a business/organization and will need a separate 'handle' for my support staff (when I get one ). I am going to post the announcement with my established account (deroyale) but would like to reserve some space below my original post (in the Marketplace) using the 'support' (Cryptoward) username. Please visit Cryptoward.com and add me to the 'whitelist'. I always read the forum and I want to participate and add value to the forum
I echo this sentiment. Thank you in advance.

I am a dev starting up Big Crypto Pool, a P2Pool based mining pool that will allow miners to easily mine a very large variety of alt-coins by simply downloading files - no crazy notepad file hacking will be necessary unless you are an advanced user. I am trying to set up the pool server and almost have it! I think a firewall may be blocking remote mining connections but that shouldn't be too hard to fix.
