Maybe not as a center for study or a subject but as a topic it can be discussed especially in the field of programming.  If it will be discussed on the students many will surely be inspired on programming as it can really help the future of these students.  They can be rich with it or maybe the next Satoshi Nakamoto will be born, who knows right?  For sure in other countries or even in schools here, there were mentions of bitcoins.  That is for sure.

I remember seeing a topic here at Bitcointalk a few years back saying that a school (probably University) will open a Bitcoin course. I don't really pay much attention to it because the school mentioned is far away from my country (and I am not interested to learn just about Bitcoin).

I foreseen that in the future, when Bitcoin become more mature and reach a large amount of populations, crypto related courses will see a huge increase of intakes yearly. To add on, there will be courses that focuses on cryptocurrencies in general.

There is a probable chance in the future that many school can take up bitcoin courses, and even if there are no needed knowledge in bitcoin and just like me that started in basic learning towards it, I think the coming children will surely benefit towards these teaching, and at a young age they can surely adapt more in bitcoin, but let's not assume that all schools will surely have this kind of course because it is still important for the main courses to be prioritize.

Oh yes, my school has started a subject about blockchain, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. It is available for the business and IT degree, I guess many people will benefit from it. Of course, I signed up and find it very interesting.

Wow that is good to know. Which country and school are you from? It is really nice that academics are taking interest in the crypto technology like blockchain. I assume the information technology subject must be taken by most of the student in your college. We actually need talent in this field so that various developments can be made to sustain the bitcoin more powerfully in the market.

I actually never thought of bitcoin making as a course in colleges and universities, if this actually happen or if other countries are starting to make this a legit course I would actually vote for this because we are in a verge of improve our currency for our future use and by people having chance to learn bitcoin is really gonna be a life changing to other people. I know as of right now bitcoin is still not legalize all over the world and still in debate, there still many things to make it happen before bitcoin will spread through out the world. This actually excites me having the thought of making bitcoin as a course load will help many people around the world and so as those who don't understand it. I hope this will be true in the future and can't wait till it happens.  Wink

Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
Bitcoin has not even been legalized still in our country.I heard that just now, colleges in some european countries have started to add bitcoin as a subject in their studies. Its a new technology which has created a revolution in the world economy. We may expect soon bitcoin to be added as an important lesson in universities all over the world.
Same here in my country, still bitcoin is not legalize and it is not well-known yet. For me it is good if bitcoin will be included in academics especially on economy. Because I believe that if everyone of us learned about bitcoin and used it in our everday life it might have positive effect on our country. Besides, it is much better for us to access the bitcoin rather than to visit porn sites that corrupt our mind.

Even if there is a subject about crypto-currencies, that will open the minds of the youth about these things and that may be one of the key factors for international development. But that is not possible without the government's intervention and that is why if bitcoin were to be legalize in a country, I think that its price will decrease due to the impose of tax regulations by the government. But if it helps in alleviating the poverty by teaching the young generation the value of money and investing, then why not?

It would be natural to include the subject about cryptocurrencies in curriculum but this is done very rare or not at all because usualy education doesn't follow trends, especialy not in this area. This should be included in financial education and partialy in IT education. But at the moment we are very far from it.
bitcoin cannot be include in the subject but bitcoin can be a part of the college payment the college students are so young and they take good interest in the internet and they are aware of the all feather of the bitcoin and online jobs it will make them responsible and they will earn money for their studies.

Bitcoin can actually be drafted into any economics curriculum because it's a household name now and just as commodities on the stock exchange are taught in finance and economics classes it makes sense to suspect Bitcoin will be mentioned in such classes being a commodity too.

Yes, it is easier to add a chapter in rather than a class. Similarly it would be dumb to have a whole course on gol,d rather a chapter in the finance and economics courses.

If we speak on the merits of this topic, we definitely need to answer this question again, whether it will be possible to transfer the pedagogical staff to teach children in colleges on the subject of crypto-currencies. After all, if you make a test, it turns out that there is more than one teacher, or perhaps most of them do not understand what is being discussed. Therefore, it is necessary first of all to prepare personnel.

i think in current time it is not necessary to teach about bitcoin in schools or colleges, because in present time bitcoin is mostly use as for investment or for trading or even for gambling, while as a currency bitcoin can only be use in limited area, to me i think when the bitcoin use as currency is increase then bitcoin should be introduce to students in schols and colleges.

True that. There are multiple things that governments and schools could do to at least offer an option to choose a course about cryptocurrencies. However, since many banks have close ties to governments, and since banks do not like the idea of cryptocurrencies as it gives them less control, I do not see this to be a near- future thing.

Bitcoin is still developing and we have not yet seen Bitcoin as a currency yet, (mostly trading). Therefore, it is a bit useless to start teaching about Bitcoin to students just yet. We will have to wait and see that the future holds before we make these decisions.

Yes. You're right. Having a course that focuses just on Bitcoin will not benefit the students much. Instead, there should be a module about Bitcoin (or cryptocurrencies in general) within technology or financial (maybe even business) related course.

Coming to this, if there is a Bitcoin course, which school does it fall in? Business (financial) or technology? Wink.

Sounds interesting. It would be useful if college students were educated on cryptocurrency, but I can't imagine it to be a course in itself. Perhaps this could be included in finance, economics or business classes just to be able to raise awareness to the students. In my college, not everyone knows about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, although some theses were done on Bitcoin.

Lol! That's very nice. Grin
Like you have a degree on Bachelor of Science in Crypto Currency Major in Bitcoin.
And soon have a master's degree.
In a serious note, maybe not a course but just a lesson in some business or computer class. Just to raise an awareness about this new technology, like how amazing and useful it is.

It's actually a good idea to teach the youth about cryptocurrencies. It'll definitely popularize Bitcoin and other top altcoins as well as the youth will know the value of them. They'll come up with new ideas on what can be done and contribute to our society.

In some colleges in our country especially those schools that deals solely on computer and information technology there are some seminars about the dark web and about cryptocurrencies so at the starting years those students have some knowledge in cryptocurrencies but I think this is only on prestigious schools and I think in my school only few people know about cryptocurrencies. I think when the blockchain technology is being heavily used by society they will include it on the curriculum but for now I think courses like that is unlikely to happen ( but if you're school is advances enough, they might offer some courses on that ).

Good to know, it means there's a chance done if then might have drawn a curriculum around Bitcoin or they might be mentioned in these classes without we knowing about. I so wish I attend such a class one day and get to hear what the prifessowill have to say.

Yeah you're correct. Many people will become aware if the bitcoin include in college education. Bitcoin will be more popular if it is being studied. I hope many schools all over the world will offer and include to their curriculum the bitcoin.
