but, but...the flippening

it's still on...right guys?

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

http://nichegamer.com/2017/12/06/valve-removes-bitcoin-payment-option-from-steam/
Valve notes that the “transaction fees that are charged to the customer by the Bitcoin network have skyrocketed this year, topping out at close to $20 a transaction last week.” They also noted that this is a massive increase when compared to the rate when they initially accepted the currency, which was $.20 per transaction.

More merchants will adopt BCH as it becomes common knowledge that it is the better option.

Why would people even buy BCash when we have Iota now

Because Bitcoin Cash is the best Bitcoin, while IOTA is merely broken smoke and mirrors - at least as far as being a money is concerned. Sure, it's enjoying a meteoric rise right now. But there will be tears.

Real LN transaction on MAINNET
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a73Gz3Tvx3k

Of course, LN is valueless until it implements a decentralized, permissionless, anonymous routing scheme. Which nobody has a clue how to do. Get back to us when the breakthrough invention is imagined, architected, designed, coded, and working.

people you have to understand ...bcash is just a BTC fork...did ver worked on bitcoin core dev ? when did he code something ever ?

Exactly. Roger had nothing whatsoever to do with Bitcoin Cash until well after the Bitcoin Cash network was up and running. He didn't code it. Correct. The excoriating of Roger's (admittedly negligible) coding skills is an irrelevant canard created by core shills in order to cast aspersions upon the project as a whole.

Fuckin' Idiots. Yes, with a capital 'I'.

Probably not. But what would it matter? What matters is whether or not the info in the article is true. Are you saying that the claim that Steam has stopped accepting BTC, with the stated reason that fees are too high and network performance is unreliable, is false?

we all know its you jbear. stop embarrassing us

Are you referring to me? Are you on drugs today?

Even if it wasn't absurd to conflate me with anon1, why would I make such claims?

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

I've been convicted of heresy. Convicted by a mere known extortionist. Read my Trust for details.

Blockstream wants small blocks, high fees and slow confirmations to justify the need for their off-chain products, such as Liquid.

Blockstream sells Liquid to exchanges to move Bitcoin quickly on a side-chain. Lightning Network will create liquidity hubs, such as exchanges, which will generate traffic and fees for exchanges. With this, exchanges will have a higher need for Liquid.

This is the only way that Blockstream's investors will get a ROI from their $76 million investment.

gd comment from west....

its a very small test, still years away if it does ever happen....

never used nicehash but if you did then uh oh....rumoured $56mill usd worth of btab/segwit1x/btc  Tongue  stolen
Dear NiceHash users!
(on fb)
Unfortunately, there has been a security breach involving NiceHash website. We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours.

Importantly, our payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken.

Clearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days. In addition to undertaking our own investigation, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are co-operating with them as a matter of urgency.

We are fully committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the earliest opportunity.

We would not exist without our devoted buyers and miners all around the globe. We understand that you will have a lot of questions, and we ask for patience and understanding while we investigate the causes and find the appropriate solutions for the future of the service. We will endeavour to update you at regular intervals.

While the full scope of what happened is not yet known, we recommend, as a precaution, that you change your online passwords.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused and are committing every resource towards solving this issue as soon as possible.
