it doesn't matter what the price is!
when you want to invest you should consider two things before doing it. how long is your investment and how good is the thing you are investing in.

if you want a short term investment and if it is the early stages of ETH pump then it is a good choice for a couple of days of investment.

but if you plan on a long term investment then bitcoin without a doubt. this year alone bitcoin has gone up more than 3.5 times.

I think you should go through BTC rather than ETH.Because BTC seems to be very popular and valuable than ETH.And BTC is very popular crypto currency all over the world.So I should prefer BTC as ETH because of their value and popularity. At last it's your choice.

Ethereum is hidden gem and the potential of this coin remains many much. Different Bitcoin, the price of Ethereum still cheap and rising up to $2000 in future is possible (when the price of Bitcoin = $10,000 and marketcap high than 1 trillion dollars)

ETH has a bigger chance of doubling in value than BTC,,, but BTC is the one for the long-term growth. I am looking for other alts. ETH is too "hot" for me right now. I cannot even afford to own a single ETH unless it drops half value soon.

By the way, if you have 1 BTC now you can have 11 ETH at exchange And still have >0.02 BTC leftover

Mmm I think you should buy 70% bitcoin and 30% ETH. Or you can use 10% to diversify with some altcoins.

Yes I agree with you, where the money will be invested to both coins, and bitcoin gets a larger amount to invest than etherum because I see bitcoin forward is more potential to reach a relatively high price and will provide many advantages. But etherum was good too but to survive until 5 years later  that I'm not so sure.

I think the ETH price should increase as it will certainly be pumped from the investor. For me, instead of buying a BTC, you should buy 10 ETH because it will certainly double your profits in the future

I agree with those that advised you diversify to play it safer.

If you want to straight up gamble, I'd say go for ETH. It's percentage swings tend to be greater than BTC at the moment.

If you're just looking to hodl, I would probably just buy the BTC.

I would definitely choose 1 BTC instead of having to choose 10 ETH. I think if you invest 1 BTC at this time then you will definitely have more ETH and ETH price is decreasing continuously recently makes people prefer to buy BTC more

For now the price of ETH is in decline, and of course will choose 1 BTC for now with 1BTC can get 11 ETH for current price, but it seems some weeks ahead ETH price will increase again.

I have invested small amounts in ETH when it was around 13 USD. ETH has been climbing up to 400 USD. It has gained so much value in just 2017. So, I think there must be a period of cooling. ETH is too hot right now. In terms of BTC it has also gained so much value but still it is not that high compared to ETH's action.

Ethereum touched $150 when bitcoin dropped to $1800, now they both made like 2x in a few weeks, so i would definitely invest in both of them
why dont buy 0.50 btc and 5 eth? i think is a good option, or maybe you can buy some alts that have a good future, like waves, antshares or monero.
Ethereum has a good potential but i dont think it can reach 1k$

For eth touching one thousand dollars in this year is as if Justin Bieber is about to quit singing. It is out of question for any altcoins to touch this value. I do not see a great future with altcoins. They are a complete decade behind bitcoins. They badly need some interesting updates to attract investors. Good luck! I will always prefer bitcoins over altcoins.

Bitcoin went even higher than that so it was better to buy bitcoin in this particular moment in time, you can easily multiply your bitcoin by just converting bitcoin to Ethereum and vice versa when the prices are favorable to you, at this moment it could be a good idea to convert bitcoin for ETH since you are going to receive more ETH and then when the price of bitcoin gets lower and the prices of ETH higher you can exchange your ETH for more bitcoin.
