They both will grow but bitcoin will be more profitable than ethereum. I would invest in bitcoins if I have $3000 to invest and there are many speculations that bitcoin will reach $50k in next five years. Ethereum is very stable and it is currently being used as an currency. If you are not sure about bitcoins future then diversify your invest.

With $3000 to invest, is there any advantages to either, with the expectations/hopes that they both will continue to grow?  Just trying to see what others would do, as I plan to let this initial investment sit for 5yrs minimum in a cold wallet.

Thanks ladies and gents!

I will suggest, you will go for 5 eth and rest amount put in the bitcoin.

Much below the ETH value against BTC. Of course, the market only determines supply demand.

Etherium still has potential, many investors say that Bitcoin might have had topped out, it is you who has to decide.

but what about bitcoin? bitcoin does also a lot of full potential. bitcoin does also have many investors. bitcoin is also infact much more profitable when compared to etherium or any other coins out there. overall i still go on bitcoin because 1 btc is still bigger than 10 eth. even if etherium has given more room to grow, i think it wont still grow big as  much as bitcoin. although i need to agree that etherium is still a veryy important coin because it is like the building blocks of crypto.

25% BTC
25% ETH
50% For 10 coins you like from TOP 25 coinmarketcap

10 eth is better. Smiley) believe me. but with 1 btc you can have around 20 eth.

But my prediction is completely different because the supply ETH 5Times higher than Bitcoin. So my thought is 5ETH= 1BTC, this is going to be the future of both the bitcoin and Ethereum prices.

I think diversification is the key here, you can 50% of your funds in eth and btc, and remaining 50% in other top ten cryptos, this will make your portfolio balanced, stable and reduce the risk.

I think you can divide your fund. 70% for BTC and 30% for ETH. Do not put all your budget in one coin. Both of them are good coin so you should not be worried about risks

Bitcoin has brought the largest gains so far. But Ethereum is almost as good to invest in, but with smaller returns. So, both are safe to invest in. Maybe invest a third in Ethereum and two thirds in Bitcoin. Holding these two for a longer period will make you good profits.

Because bitcoin is the king of all the other subcoins. It is always a good idea to keep some investment as bitcoin. Because no coin can move independent of bitcoin.

If i were you, i will invest $3000 to Ethereum because i think Ethereum will become big on the next year. I think the Ethereum price can reach to 0.1+ again, who knows though. Stored on myetherwallet is fine actually, just don't forget about you wallet details.

In my opinion, it is better if you choose bitcoin to invest in the big part of your money. And also, I think ethereum is the best altcoin and it is a big possibility that seeing its price better and better in the future. In my way of thinking, dividing the money to invest would be the best choice.

I trust both of these coins ethereum and bitcoin. I would prefer to hold every bit of them. But if you need one clear choice I still choose bitcoin over ethereum for long range holding..

I think it is better to have 1 BTC than 10 ETH because as we know BTC is the best and most valuable cryptocurrency of all time so I think it is better to have 1 BTC than 10 ETH.
Yes i think so. because BTC  is mother coin in the world so we can say  undoubtedly BTC is better than ETH. Bitcoin price is now so much high and bitcoin price is increasing day by day. bitcoin will be more popular and more effective  in the future .

What words everyone says and virtually every bitcointalk user believes that the etherium and Bitcoin are more promising, but at the same time they are considering alternative options to minimize their risks.
