Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I think you shouldnt invest one coin. You can divide your money and buy 5eth and 0.5 btc that way is better i think.

But I will prefer 1BTC

Now I would choose 1 Bitcoin. It seems to me that today is a very important day for bitcoin and a new benchmark. Now there will be growth up and conquest of new peaks. I feel sorry for those people who did be in time to buy bitcoin at a low price.
Still is not too late to buy bitcoin now even though the price is +$2k within the past of 24-48hours
Ethereum is a good platform and we all see that many coins are using the Ethereum to build their token and use their infrastructure to run their token which is good of course because the network of ethereum is getting more and more popular which makes people use more and invest more in ethereum.
I knew about ethereum when it was $18 and when I firstly started to learn about the mining and how to mine ethereum, I was sceptic but now highly motivated to invest in ETH.

It's not too late at all, if bitcoin can return to a bullish momentum investors could enjoy near 100% profits in a matter of weeks. Longer term Ethereum is the way to go (IMO) but right now bitcoin has a much bigger upside and any spare capital I have is going there.

With $3000 to invest, is there any advantages to either, with the expectations/hopes that they both will continue to grow?  Just trying to see what others would do, as I plan to let this initial investment sit for 5yrs minimum in a cold wallet.

Thanks ladies and gents!
I'd say out all of it in Bitcoin. Bitcoin's market value have been dumped more than half of its higher market value so practically ,it will be more profitable once its market value starts to rise along with your investment. Just further add to also have an investment with etherium since it is also a good investment which .arket value is potent to be higher.

I think etherium will be a better choice. 30 ETh is a gold investment to hold since Etheroum's market value is cutted into half due to the continuous backdrops recently. And now that it is stadting to recover, profit will be earned once it has fully recovered from the dump. Just conrinue investing and holding. Patiently wait for the cryptomarket to recover.
