5 months elapsed. Do not know if you have invested ETH or BTC. But at the present time, of course buy 10 ETH. Because 2018 ETH can increase to $ 2,000 per ETH and will not stop. I think in 2018 BTC will not grow as strongly as in 2017. Therefore investing in ETH is reasonable

I'would like to see btc break the 50k in 2018. For btc, $50k border is a hard one but it's possible still. We saw it broke the $19k border down last year. It could do this easily with a market support behind. To answer the question, I would go for 1 btc at the moment. |

Personally I think that with BTC futures being traded the bankers will try to kill off bitcoin and now they can legally do it. We have just witnessed a great short.
ETH is in bed with businesses but they will want to see it grow as it is not a direct threat (although it is) to big business. They will learn to harness it and use it to increase their profits.
So with that being said buy ETH
I had the decision to make when I first got into crypto to buy 2 btc @ 500 each or 100 ETH. I chose the ETH but did invest more and picked up dash and btc. All of them have been great investments

I think 1 btc would be better than 10 et karna with the current price is still far when compared with eth, btc may add value to you
But you know that with 10 etherum he will earn more cause etherum will be one of the most "pumped" coins in 2018 imo and 10 etherum is much better than buying one bitcoin. |

Split it and consider both? I mean it could be that bitcoin skyrockets but Im afraid of its outdated tech. Ethereum will always have new Dapps.

For now, I will surely picked Ether, the demand for ICOs is on the rise and will continue to drive the price of Ether up, because most of these tokens will be locked up, another token set for a good year is NEO IMO because there are like 25 ICOs coming up on it this first quarter

I would prefer ethereum. This does not mean that bitcoin will not grow, but I think that ether will increase faster in a percentage ratio.

I think ETH is better, I am trading PPT and Veritasium tokens on EtherDelta. It's an easy 10-15% profit daily, market moves up and down all the time, it's very easy to make money in my opinion.
BTC is at risk now with the things on August 1, I think that is risky to invest in it now, but ETH is cool.

good assets but it is unlikely that it will correctly invest 50% of its deposit in 1 asset. This is very risky. I think that investments from 5-10% are the most optimal. In some more risky assets you can invest less than 3% |

I compare the bitcoin and eth prices at the moment. eth prices in few months continue to grow. and btc prices have increased in the last few months and currently the price of btc is down. if I have the funds, I will invest my money in for 2 coins . I will invest in eth and btc. both of them is really good to invest.

With $3000 to invest, is there any advantages to either, with the expectations/hopes that they both will continue to grow? Just trying to see what others would do, as I plan to let this initial investment sit for 5yrs minimum in a cold wallet.

Well in today's situation, 1 btc is almost equal to 10 eth. But, it's still good to invest with bitcoin since bitcoin continuously increasing its value even its going down for a while. |

I agree with ETH is a lot better than Bitcoin, it has a lot more functionnality, if bitcoin reach 100k then the fee are going to be really crazy, they need to fix the fee first and then maybe bitcoin can go to 100k. I hope lightning network will fix this issues |

Now i would surely recommend you to buy 10 eth. If you noticed btc has almost become more than $4500 while eth is still low for you to double your investment it can take time while for eth it's still around $300 and many are speculating it can become $1k by end of this year with 10 eth you can triple your investment in few months.
1 Bitcoin or 8 Bitcoin cash. They could be more valuable. You sure maybe you are right about bch but his question was between eth and btc and if you compare the profitability well btc rose from i guess $7k or something around this price and eth was $300. Today btc is $10k let's assume he would have made 2 times the profit but eth had increased by 4 times so well if he did follow my guidance he would have $10k currently. |
