shutting down btc-e right now would be fucking up alex, and i doubt they will do that.

no one ever proved whos the owner of btc-e, and when it goes up again, people will start to doubt.

If he's the one who did the MtGox thing then I have no sympathy for him. He destroyed a lot of people and almost destroyed crypto as a whole and he should pay his time. If he's innocent then more power to him.

I see so much wishful thinking from users who have coins and money stuck on btc-e, it's almost sad...

"It's going to be ok, I bet the website will be back up and running in a few days."
"The admin are working on it."
And so on...

I'll give you my two cents: If BTC-e ever comes back up, it will be in a few months at least. That is because whoever is in charge now will have to cooperate with law enforcement to figure things out. And law enforcement is hella slow. They will audit BTC-e and if by chance they don't simply decide to confiscate all the bitcoins, then they will have to figure out which accounts are legitimate and which are not. Which means that to get your coins back you'll have to give them your identify and prove where your money or coins came from and that it was all legit.

I have 2 grands worth of altcoins on the exchange, I consider that money as lost, and I don't care, because I knew, and everybody with a brain knew, that BTC-e was shady as fuck, and you'd have to be really stupid to have kept more than you were willing to lose there.

I will also give my two cents to the other wishful thinkers that believe their coins are safe on another exchange because "it's regulated". All exchanges, without exception, are being used by criminals to launder money. Only the extent of it varies, and whether or not the owners are involved in it. Have y'all forgotten about BitInstant already??

I'd expect a big pump after aug 1 and BCC nonsense is settled, although confirmation that btc-e is dead and money gone will certainly lead to a dump as well. Would have thought price should be way lower than 2500 at this point.
