CryptoWatch: Bitcoin’s dominance may face its most severe challenge in 2018

Quote
“Some market commentators think this signifies a structural change, akin to a “flippening” in that the project isn’t keeping pace with more nimble competitors. It’s too early to tell whether this is more than short-term market noise, but one thing is for sure: Bitcoin is the most resilient project in the world and has a long history of confounding its naysayers!”—Rob Viglione, co-founder of ZenCash

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/cryptowatch-bitcoins-dominance-may-face-its-most-severe-challenge-in-2018-2018-01-02?mg=prod/accounts-mw

It is very exciting to see what will happen with Bitcoins marked dominance in 2018. It is indeed threatened, and its dominance is getting low.
As for Zencash i think we have a bright future Smiley

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

ZENCASH IN 2018: A DEEPER LOOK AT THE PRIVACY-CENTRIC PLATFORM’S ROADMAP

Quote
Fresh news for 2018
First of all, January will be a month with high expectations for the Zencash community, developers, and investors. Three major news are expected:

Zencash will be listed on an Asian exchange (rumours talk about Bitfinex or Binance). This is essential to further spread Zencash as a privacy platform, spread out the risk of being mainly tied to a single major exchange, and indirectly promote decentralisation from an infrastructure perspective (a large chunk of the infrastructure is currently based in EMEA and North America), plus increased adoption means more trade, more trade more attention, and more attention further investments.

Zencash will sign a partnership agreement – there is already a substantial involvement from IOHK, a premier blockchain R&D organisation into Zencash code development, but contracting or subcontracting doesn’t necessarily means an agreement. A partnership agreement could take the form of IOHK (or another partner) doing joint research with the Zencash team, or Zencash integrating a new platform/tool.

Zencash will completely rebrand the website as well as social media outlets – on this occasion the latest white paper will also be published, superseding the original one. This is probably the most demanded thing by the Zencash community, and I’ve been certainly as impatient as the others, although I do understand the need to do things well and in a coordinated fashion. I hope that the rebranding will be done in a coordinated way, and also hope this will look glorious. Don’t get me wrong, the power of a platform is behind the tech, the actual commits and the ability of the development team to delvier, but technological excellence doesn’t means that we can indulge in half-measures.
Awesome summary thanks @darkkavenger

Hey guys, considering setting up a Zen full node if the rewards are acceptable but I can't find how many nodes are active atm and how many ZEN that would approximately provide me per day. Does anyone have a link with more information? Thanks

you should try google, its a new search engine , it sometimes gives the information you are looking for.

Zencash has a great development team. They keep up with all the good news for investors and are always available to support the community. I'm sure Zen will be the most worthy investment altcoin this year because Zen's price is really low now

Everyone is concerned about the status of bitcoin, and although I think its technology has been surpassed by many projects, but everyone's position is the originator of bitcoin, feelings lead people to have been in awe of bitcoin

he Top Three Cryptocoins for 2018

Disclaimer: This is not financial advice nor should anyone take my thoughts as financial advisements. These are mere opinions, you should take with your financial advisor before entering into any transaction.

With the massive surge in Ripple’s XRP this month, I’ve gotten many questions about my favorite coins for the upcoming year.

While there are thousands of opportunities out there, I feel strongly about three dynamic cryptocurrencies that may be powerful enough to top the markets. This includes one coin, my favorite, which I think has the ability to overtake Bitcoin as the number one coin in the marketplace.

You say "Zen is an evolution of the Zclassic codebase". Why did you choose Zclassic that is fork of Zcash? Why not Zcash itself?

Zen Cash looks very interesting for investments, but I think that actual capitalization - 150 million usd - it is not true capitalization due that it is total price of 3 million coins from 21 million of potential total supply

Because Zclassic removed the founders reward in Zcash.  The work had already been done in Zclassic.  If they would have forked from Zcash, then they would have had to re-engineer the founder's reward removal.  Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Thank you for your article. It's an interesting read. I've been focusing on new coins lately. I think I also have to consider investing in the big name coins that are already established like Ripple, Stellar and ZenCash.

That would be a strange card haha Tongue But not sure it would actualy be a good solution. The card would probably not be alot cheaper, and the resell value would be near nothing towards gamers Tongue
But on another side, ROI would be faster excluding resale Smiley

Zen was mentioned here:

 https://medium.com/@realmarktaker/the-top-three-cryptocoins-for-2018-5330c20d0f3d

Quote
ZenCash ( ZEN )

My third coin for 2018 is ZenCash. In the past 90 days it has increased value by 5x.

ZenCash focuses on true anonymity in online payments. As more and more consumers focus on privacy and security, I predict it will become the leader in anonymous coins. This past month there has been great discussions about upcoming US regulations on cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin specifically). If and when these regulations are announced, I expect ZEN to surge in price as the push for privacy causes an increase in demand.

Good article. I also am convinced that ZEN will shine in 2018. Sooner or later it could even end up outshining Zcash,

Me too. I was looking at the zcash btc trade volume by exchange and almost 40% of its trade comes from HITBTC, 11% & 12% from biance and bitfinex respectively. 34% of its trade is in KRW. Once zen is on these exchanges anyone invested in zcash will hopefully look into zen as a credible alternative which should have a massive impact. 2018 looks promising

One only thing it could be improved is the procedure to create a node - too complicate at the moment. I have the necessary coins for that but I cannot afford spending days trying to understand how to do that.
