IOHK | Cardano whiteboard; Treasuries, with Bingsheng Zhang, Ph.D. Lecturer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyh3h_yX-S0&feature=youtu.be

ZenCash will be working with IOHK in the design of the ZenCash treasury and governance implementation for the ZenCash blockchain.

Quote
One of the things they found attractive to doing this with ZenCash is that we have the ability to create secret ballot voting through the use of shielded transactions as opposed to the open ballot blockchain voting other systems have.
blockops

so finally its confirmed, ninja partnership to make DAO on zen with IOHK aka cardano dev !

Crazy that zen didn't pick up yet with all those dead coin going up 30-40x. Its a big time hodl lady and gent'

If you are running Secure nodes on a VPS or a Cloud platform, immediately look into the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities. You need to patch if your provider has not, but also know that the patch will impact node performance and probably cause challenge timing issues on the low end servers. Obviously with only 43 coins committed, you are not at risk of a significant loss such as a DASH masternode, but never the less you are at risk.

Always forget to ask: where is ZEN team (or most of it) based? Russia?

I know a couple are based in the USA, and one in Hong Kong.

I have spoke with Support about this->

If you are on a vps yes you should take a look. However spectre and and meltdown  merely leak passwords etc.
And if you have your staking zen on the node itself then u are asking for trouble anyway. Staking zen should be in a local wallet!
If your node is only acting as a sec node then and not as a workstation then you don't have too much to worry about.
However if you are using shared hosting then if the host box is hacked it's the same as any other vilulnerability
That's why I always use dedicated boxes for sec nodes.
Also the slowdown will affect u yes.
The main point is do not put staking zen on the node itself.
And don't use the node for doing anything other than just being a node.

We really are all over the place: USA, Mexico, Portugal, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia, Japan, Kenya, and probably some other places i'm not recalling off the top of my head...and we still need to get much more global!

because you forgot that marketing is the most important thing. Coin with only promises (marketing only like now zcl fork) can be for some time (sometimes long time Smiley more valuable then such project like zencash - where is "everything" but smart and effective marketing.

Search in google, youtube, facebook popular group .... for privacy coin - you will see that people know and suggest everything but zencash Sad See popular reviews, popular comparison videos with for example 50-200k views...  So people do not know about zencash as privacy coin.... so they also don't know that this platform isn't only privacy coin. Simple. Good that there were PBC and McAfee suggestion so price isn't 10$-$15 like would be without these suggestions Sad

Lol 1 dev fork with bad past into splitting coin and never work on his fork always abandoning it...

except saying zcash + btc 'technology' 'game changer' what he does is simply total hype and newbies with -200 IQ fall for it , BTCP have nothing relevant, new, worked or game changer except the way noob fall for shit now and how malicious dev profit those situation.

Keep your eyes on Zen this is the next big thing,no hype, continual work, progress and achievement ,we have good communication with beweekly live video since beggining of zen, rebrand, dao smart contract etc etc future is bright here  Grin

gemme all your zen if you're not happy I accept donation; znTZ95FJZey59d6MRekUipoMbbgnaZjzetG  Grin Grin

Zec; 500$ no node, only work on core
zcl; 200$ exact copy of zec without funder %
xzc; 100$ node, some extra work + hype from roger ver
zen; 50$ node, wider work on every aspect + free place for a whale emplacement

Avoid talking about Zcoin in your comparison please.

This is not the same technology, so not comparable (zerocoin protocol). Then the models are different and the work on Zcoin is huge.

Zen is the best of all altcoins with zeroknowledge technology.

I agree on the huge potential of Zencash. not on dubious comparisons with Zcoin!

The rise of Bitcoin Private is really a bad news for this project. It is gonna wipe out ZCash and ZEN.

On the surface, it looks like Bitcoin Private is a marriage of Bitcoin Cash and Zclassic... but doesn't seem to offer anything new except to merge zk-snarks to a derivative of Bitcoin.

The next "big thing" in privacy for cryptocurrency will probably be the "Bulletproof" technology.  It can be added to most non-private coins like Bitcoin proper:  https://www.coindesk.com/aim-fire-bulletproofs-breakthrough-privacy-blockchains/

It will hide the values in the transactions, but still leave the sender and receiver open on the blockchain.  I think most common folks will find this psuedo-anonymous ability acceptable.  It will certainly have it's place in cryptocurrency space.  Of course the full private transaction using zk-snarks and someday zk-starks will still be the gold standard of private transactions, but as we all know... this has it's own problems, as you have to accept the trusted-setup ceremony was done legitimately, and the processing power/time required for those transactions make them slower.

All this makes it tough for the "common man" to use cryptocurrency... But I think in the near future, there will be services where that common man goes to a website, and chooses the level of security they would want, pay a small fee for the back-end switch from Bitcoin to ZenCash for a "full private" transaction"... and it ends up back as Bitcoin at the receiver's end.  All fully transparent to the common man.  Payment processors and payroll transactions would probably happen on Bitcoin using Bulletproofs, as the amounts need to be private, but the sender/receiver shouldn't be obscured.  Of course, a lot of this depends on Bitcoin solving their scaling problems... otherwise other coins can overtake them with better technologies.

Nano S  Ledger support and running a masternode + recommended hardware requirement
When will there be Nano S Ledger support and will you be able to run a masternode from the Ledger address?
I installed a MN during test on a VPS 20GB 1 GB, but never took the last step to run a secure node. (want my coins to be secure) +  What is the recommended VPS you will need. 4GB  or is a 1GB node with swapfile enough for all the tasks (ahead). Thx

Nano S support should be some time after January, AFAIK they are aiming to have it coded by the end of January then it needs to be submitted to Ledger to do their thing.

You'll be able to run a node with your stake in the Ledger because you only need your t-address when setting it up (no private key needed).

ATM I run my nodes on Linode and found 1GB RAM wasn't enough (after the first week on mainnet) I'm running 2GB RAM with 4GB SSD swap ATM and they work fine.

I agree that marketing is important, and we are seriously stepping up efforts there, i'm just more of a build something cool first and then talk about it kind of person...way too much amateur and unethical hype in this industry.
