I am pretty sure this guy is some legendary member, he had to make a fake new account probably because he didn't want to get introuble with AMD for pre-releasing these drivers.

I highly doubt a AMD driver can become some executable virus.

i have rx 470 4g spphire+ and afterburner 4.4 beta 16 don't increase m clock higher than 1300 !!!
i enabled extend  overclocking limit with no change

you better disable that back from afterburner gui and use it only to lower the volts. set frequencies with claymores miner -mclock, -cclock

i tried them and i got error when starting clymore and the hash goes down to 4 mh !!!

Just gonna chime in on the driver.
I have one Strix RX480 8GB(Samsung) running with Uber 3.1 Timings @1180Mhz/2035MHz/0.963v on Win 10.
Before I switched the drivers I was getting 27.9Mh/s & after updating it's now at around 29.93Mh/s but there were some problems.
Before installing this driver make sure you're on 17.7.2 because older Crimson versions crash when trying to open Wattman (was using 17.6.2 and updated to the BETA driver) & ofc patching the driver if you're using modded BIOS.
For me voltage control/clocks are borked on WattTool (have to wait for AMD to release public SDK for the API to get it updated) and with MSI AB 4.4.0 @ BETA 16 I can only touch clocks but not voltages so I was only able to lower them using Wattman. Restarting Claymore also bumps up voltage again so I have to re-apply it through Wattman. Hope this helps someone.

Why your hashrate fluctuates so much? Do you have any other apps opened? If you go to task manager, detail and then right click on EthDcrMiner64.exe and set priority to high it should stop fluctuating. But I don't know how to permanently set priority because it resets every time I close the miner or restart my rig.

WattTool doesn't work & I can't set voltage in Afterburner so I use WattMan which is the integrated OC tool in the Crimson Driver.
"Vendor independent tools (like WattTool) will have to wait for public SDK release though." is what I read about it on OC.net.

I installed it on my windows polaris rig, didn't need to touch voltages or clocks since I have that all burned into the BIOS

any word on when the fix will work its way into the linux driver ?

Tried this early this morning but probably one of the few that got absolutely crap out of it.

This is my system:
-windows 10 64bit, updated to the latest patch
-claymore 9.7, all OC/undervolting hard-coded to config.txt
-17.7.1 as I didn't bother updating to 17.7.2
-6x Asus Dual OC Rx580 8GB
-171Mh/s [28.5mH/s per card] @DAG137

1. Downloaded the drivers, tried updating via device manager > black screen. I had to force reboot.
2. Restarted, updated to 17.7.2, then tried the beta driver > same old shitty black screen.
3. Ran DDU, updated to 17.7.2 then beta driver > cannot continue updating of drivers as it is corrupt or unreadable.

So yeah, i'll just wait for the official AMD release.

P.S. I system restored back to my working state and ran Claymore 9.8, but getting super slow hash rates, like back to stock of 24Mh/s.

Anyone have the same issues?

and I'm getting 25 MH at stock with a Modded bios on a RX 480 4 gb power color card with no over clocking, with no modded bios at stock setting it was 22 to 23 i had to over clock to hit 24 and then i was lucky if i could get it to go that high with no modded bios . with the modded bios i had it to 27 to 28 MH over clocked it could have better but all i changed in the bios was the timing , i normally mine ZEC and for me Eth mining with driver version  17.7.2 seems to work better. .

I'm sorry but i'm kinda lost here - why would I need AB software when I don't do my OC with it? My settings are all hard-coded to config so every time Claymore is ran, they are automatically applied.

Edit: I got it now, you're talking about me using CLaymore 9.8 and getting stock hashes. Thanks for that.

Kind of why i'd rather use a kind of untouched bios with over clocking software, i use to go though the same issue .. but in your case wait . ..

i played around a little bit, mixing dll's from old drivers with these new ones, trying to make "old" adl work with new drivers but i had no luck.

Twelve hours mining ETC and it hasn't changed. Only problem as I mentioned in my first post is that closing Claymore and starting it again raises voltages - I set 980mv (shows 963mv in HWiNFO64) but changes to 1044mv when I restart Claymore. Then again my Strix has 1150mv factory voltage @1310MHz
