That's always an open question for any currency. Right now, it breaks down like this:
* PoW mining - 8 XMCC per block
* Masternode - 2 XMCC per block

If you have an X11 miner and can do it efficiently, there's a good ratio for PoW mining. If not, buying the coins for a masternode may work out. The MN rewards start increasing in the middle of next year, which is a benefit as well.

It all depends on what is most economical and efficient for you. Personally, I have no ASIC X11 miners lying around and I'm not a big fan of the low MN reward right now. I'm waiting/hoping for the price to go down about 20-25% more and then pick up a MN before the rewards start increasing there.

Well not really linked to the coin itself in my opinion even if a correction is normal after a big raise, I think it's linked to the Bitcoin raise because of the 2 forks coming.

yes wait or even buy more, 400$ is a very good entry for a masternode with this stable conditions.
even better, in 10 years i want to buy a house or apartment in monaco with xmcc.
maybe a place for the yacht or if things go really well a nice beachfront hotel xD

people forget that masternodes are mining 2.0 .. ill write more why is think that soon but the industry will change sooner or later and you will want to be on board
