I'm glad I'm not as delusional as you are.

A gambling site that wants to make money? You don't say?  It's not a fucking charity.

I won't even comment on it anymore Cheesy .

It makes so much sense.

Faucet is not there for u to make money ,its there to test out the site. And as far as i am concerned it should be 100 sat fixed Smiley

stunna with the money you make you should have a site with. 99.99999 uptime

Man, most weeks the site is online for much longer than that. Some weeks it has an uptime over 150 hours!

people complaining about free money...hilarious. the faucet does not make people shut up, because they complain they don't get rain. the rainbot does not make them shut up because they complain their faucet is too low, and the rest starts begging as soon as a green line appears in the high roller tab. seriously, most of them will never deposit anyway, they just try to bring faucet to the cashout limit.

at first I thought removing the faucet would be a bad idea, but after a few days in the chat, I'd say remove it and give new players some gambling money which can't be cashed out. that way everyone can test the site long enough, but the begging problem might come to an end.

don't get me wrong, i really like the site, but the chat is sometimes a horrible experience. there are of course a lot of nice people, but all those cyber-bums are really annoying. and after seeing that day for day, I don't wanna imagine a new player rolling some btc and getting spammed by PM's from people asking for rain. He will most probably just gamble on another site...

FYI: i just tipped all the users in that >= 580 facebook posts i found that neither got a tip from rainbot nor where on the list of 300 a 0.0005. it took a while to find them out.

whenever i meet anyone complaining about that facebook giveaway again i might get a little angry at them and sound like a power-hungry mod or something i guess...

i suggest not promising ANYTHING on the next giveaway.

whenever you think you have a nice community you stumble about those guys that only cry "me me me" and dont care about the experience for others or such facts that getting donations is a honor and not an obligation, or who abuse nice ideas so that they need to be reduced or taken away for the rest of us.

the only thing that seems to be working to a very limited amount are strict rules like i try to impose on the rainbot blacklist and stick to them.

i wonder if these giveaways are even really effective in terms of marketing, since those who apply seem to include a huge percentage of people who you might neither want in terms of a nice community nor in terms of wagering.

sry if i sound frustrated.

EDIT: tried to make my bad english even worse

hey!

finally some content!

Stunna/Torba.. not sure if this bug has been mentioned yet but it seems the chat window eats messages from time to time, whether it's regular chat or PM's.  I often get PM's from people saying "Did you get my message?" and I have seen no messages before that, or people will post quizzes in chat, and people who posted before others didn't get seen at all.  This issue seemed to compound after implementing the VIP chat.
on a technical level it has to have something to do with max sockets per token - i had the same issue when i asked the api about recent chatmessages while writing a message in the browser. solved it by not doing that and have the same impression: that with vip chat things got worse.

Speaking of VIP chat, it's pretty dismal in there.  There's very little incentive to be active in VIP because those who have wagered over 5 BTC are few and far between, and the regular chat is far more engaging.  I know you talked about strengthening the criteria for being accepted into VIP, but I think it should actually be lessened to promote activity in there.  Otherwise it'll be a pointless graveyard with the occasional "Is anybody here?" messages.  I do like that Tipsy doesn't show up in there.  My suggestions:

  • Reduce VIP requirement to 2 BTC wagered + 14 days registered.
  • Allow Mods to "whitelist" users that are below 2 BTC but meet the criteria of not being a douchenozzle and being registered for 14 days.
  • If a mod recognizes anybody in this whitelist begging or being a douchenozzle, lifetime ban from VIP.
i dont like the idea of having whitelists for mods to handle again. we receive enough hate and begging already, and i remember well how it was like when we had to whitelist people to get higher faucets. i think banning ppl would not be an issue though Smiley

what would help a lot to populate it are imho two things:
  • remove the glass door from the vip-chat (its not vip when everybody lurks)
  • find a way to display main AND vip at the same time
...but maybe thats just my point of view.

Other ideas I had not involving VIP

  • Make the Rainbot official so those of us that donate to it regularly have the possibility of seeing some returns on it.  Not too dissimilar from the Leader Board payouts, but on a more fractional level and allows people other than the Whales to benefit.  The more rainbot is active, the happier the chatters are and the less they beg.  If they do beg, they get put on the blacklist.
  • Give mods the ability to reduce the 'level' of those that beg, thus reducing their faucet.
Thank you for all you do.
because i know what an issue it is to keep that rainbot running in a more or less political correct way i dont think pd has the resources to run it officially 24/7.

dont misunderstand me please - i love your suggestions and i dont speak for pd, just wanted to note some experience i made earlier.

also im not used to such substantial input in this thread - it could be a start of a informed discussion Wink

I'd been meaning to get around to that post for a couple of days now. Glad I finally did! ;-)

The ideas I had are certainly not ones that could be implemented without some deliberation or fine tuning, but an idea has to start somewhere, right?  I just hope I can help push things in the right direction, I suppose.  At the end of the day, you are indeed the ones that have to put up with everything!

i thought about the "sharing to the sharers" part. the secret algorythm(tm) could be easily modified so that other criterias like previous donations were taken into account and i would love to implement these - its just so that the api unfortunately doesnt allow for it.

its neither possible to see tipsy or mutebot messages nor pms from the chat api. Sad

also a tiplog is not available.

some nice things could be done with these Smiley
