Second, this is a max profit flat betting (sorry if I'm not correct on the max bet, but I can't publicly find PD limits).
It's weird from the screenshot how 3x pays out differently whether you roll hi or lo. He's winning 24 BTC when he rolls low, but only 23.99988 when he rolls high. Is this some kind of rounding error?

The "Over" Chance is actually 33.01000000000001%.  I might have misplaced the first and last '1' but that's apparently where "Over 66.99" sits as opposed to the straight 33% that 'Under 33.00" is.

To quote the provably fair page at PrimeDice:

Quote
The resulting number 0-999,999 is applied a modulus of 10^4, to obtain a roll number 0-9999, and divided by 10^2 to result a 0-99.99 number.

So there are 10,000 possible different rolls, each with the same probability. 00.00 through 99.99.

Of the 10,000 possible rolls, 3300 of them are under 33.00 (00.00 through 32.99 inclusive) and 3300 of them are over 66.99 (67.00 through 99.99 inclusive) so they both have a 33% chance of winning and should both pay out 3x (99/33) for a 1% house edge.

So the payout is wrong. It is being paid out as if the chance of winning was 33.00011%, which it isn't:

>>> 99/(23.99988/12+1)
33.00011

So it's only a small error in this case. It would be good to understand why it is happening, and whether the error is more significant in other cases. Multiplication by 3 should be relatively easy to get right.

I, as well as others I'm sure, have tried bringing it up to Stunna multiple times and I've never gotten a response on the issue.  I presented it as a bug at first but they don't seem to think the same.

No , its over 66.99 coz its not posible to roll 100 it goes to 99.99 .

I was just going off the number that it shoots out into the chat room whenever Huffle would roll a 12 BTC bet on 3x.  I've duplicated the results many times myself on both 3x & 4x.  It only happens with larger wagers.  I think .001 and above.

Hmmm so that 23.99988 profit is very likely to be a bug.
Stunna and the developers need to fix it, and check how many bets are affected and adjust the account balance accordingly.

Like I said before, I tried to bring it up a couple months ago and never got a response.

With dooglus on your side now analyzing the faulty multiplier, it should get Stunna's attention more easily. Smiley

I see.

I just noticed the same in a video of Hufflepuff's play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uALj-u-BvOc

Note the text in the chat, and how it doesn't match the bets displayed:

Looks to me like there's some floating point rounding error going on.

This kind of speculation isn't very useful without proof. Are you also saying that AK is dmf?

Not visiting chat isn't strong evidence for anything. Any high roller who visits chat is bombarded with begging. I never saw AK bet round numbers like hufflepuff is doing - but I must admit I missed his PD performance.

The rounding error only happens on specific payouts, and AK rarely (if ever) did 3x or 4x.  I'd throw some bets on those multipliers right now to screen-cap some more, but I don't want to take the risk since it's only larger bets that it shows up on.  Mind stopping into PD and tossing a few .01 bets around on 3x, 4x, and 5x?  heh.

He was on chat sometime ago when he had problems with cashout. Pending and such.

U can see his stats it says 121 chat msgs.

When we ware talking i got impression that he doesn't rly speak English very well , so i don't think he is dmf or ak coz they both speak English very well.

It definitely also happens at 0.1 bets because I did a few of those and the payout was 0.29999 (or something) on the high and 0.3 on the low... At the time I figured it was some rounding error but as Dooglus has shown it should have payed out 0.3

I still say it's a good thing he didn't increase the limit to 80 BTC!

>>> 99/(23.99988/12+1)
33.00011

So it's only a small error in this case. It would be good to understand why it is happening, and whether the error is more significant in other cases. Multiplication by 3 should be relatively easy to get right.

When I first saw the disparity in Hufflepuff's payouts I also assumed it was because you could roll a 0 but not a 10000.  Thank you dooglus for locking it down and showing the mistake in such a clear way.

Quoted to give higher visibility to this issue.  I'm pretty sure "Multiplication by 3 should be relatively easy to get right." is going into the classic dooglus comments book.

I hope Stunna and PD explain fully or fix this quickly.

Good Luck!

How many times exactly has the odds/payout been wrong? The last time I saw it, I recall it being both obviously and majorly fucked at one of the extremities. You'd think it'd be a priority for a dice site to get this right. Is MICRO the dev or something?

Nope, he is a moderator at PD.
