I hate to sound stupid but did something happen, fork maybe? Pool http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com/ went from steady block every 1-2mins to average 6 mins per block over an hour. Seems to be approaching statistical improbability. Roughly 17% of network hash with 20sec blocks means approx 30 blocks per hour. So at 10 blocks in an hour that is really low. Additionally I am sure the 20 sec block rate is being way over driven based on high hash and difficulty not yet adjusting. Also starting to see orphans as well. Mathematically this seems really odd to me

what is the best p2pool right now paying instantly? like to try mining digitalcoin All p2pools should pay out instantly. Try to find one close to you with good efficiency %. Bringing up another p2pool on the East Coast of America. This one is on the West Coast: dgc.xpool.net:8810 Not quite true, you make take several hours to find a share before you are even eligible for a payout, and then the pool has to find a block, unlike say a PPS pool which will simply credit your account the instant a block is found. DGC needs a PPS pool or two. PPLNS should work well too, at least when it pays out after 5 confirmations (like my pool does ) which are happening within just a minute or two

It's real hard to resist mining DGC with this profitability level so I quit mining BTC/LTC for a while and tried again DGC. Yes, I know, I'm stupid... Same dissapointing results as before: net income is FAR, FAR AWAY from what has to be. I'm in BigVern pool and is giving me 0.16 DGC/block (0.16 DGC every 3 or 4 minutes) with my 5 MH/seg miner when it should be giving me 1 DGC or more per block (more than 20 coins per hour). A f*cking joke.

baritus, why not use irc...? there's already a channel on freenode with a couple people in it. #digitalcoin crazy action on cryptsy, up to .0007, and it's been top on coinchoose.com for the past 24 hours even if this jawn get's the dump treatment there's gonna be a lot of people waiting to grab more cheap coins. i've got my buy orders in!

Been happy on this pool for the last 20 hours. Hopefully my payout will keep climbing to around 3.5 DGC, unless traffic increases.

Sure, but it is showing only 15/20 valid blocks per hour (instead of 50/60 blocks per hour) so numbers do not add up. Taxi, try fenican's P2pool. Thanks, I'm gonna try that pool.

Is it normal for shares to drop, drastically, when swapping to mine on a p2p pool? I've not tried it before, so it's still a new experience to me. I'm using their suggested cgminer string, from their site: usage: cgminer --scrypt -o http://p2pool-dgc.com:9500 -u YOURDGCADDRESS+0.0025 -p x --queue 0 (and a bunch of other stuff for my 7970s) I understand the +0.0025 states some sort of local difficulty?

A f*cking joke. Perhaps the pools are struggling with the hash rate? I am on bigvern's too and it seems to be working for me. What I found works best is if I use the cgminer --load-balance options with two pools, then if something is a bit funny with one, it will put most of the effort into the other one.

People seem to like PushPools for some reason though...perhaps it's the web interface. I do like that. BigVern's pools were my goto before I discovered P2Pools. I miss the web interface of Pushpools and the sorta competitive nature between miners it presented (at least in my perspective). The information it gives miners is easier to follow than p2pools. East coast server just waiting for the wallet to download....should I bring up a EU server? I'm just bringing these up to test combined hashing between p2pools. Don't know if they will be permanent yet.

I've been mining on erundook's pool for the past 7 days, averaging 2800Kh/s with average daily payout around 550 coins. I'm located in Australia so my latency (~350ms) isn't great.

Awareness of this coin still seems low - is there a good post for why DGC is better than WDC that I can refer others too?

Love it when my pool, with less than 5% of the network hash rate, solves two consecutive blocks!

The only differences are the block reward and the block time. DGC had a much cleaner release with gradually escalating rewards. WDC was a surprise release (couple hours of notice) with full reward starting at block 1

Awareness of this coin still seems low - is there a good post for why DGC is better than WDC that I can refer others too? It does not exist. DGC is merely a clone of WDC. The only differences are the block reward and the block time. It's actually a clone of LTC if you examine the source, with several parameter changes for the better. static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 3.5 * 24 * 60 * 60; // Litecoin: 3.5 days static const int64 nTargetSpacing = 2.5 * 60; // Litecoin: 2.5 minutes static const int64 nInterval = nTargetTimespan / nTargetSpacing;
static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 0.35 *24 * 60 * 60; // Worldcoin: 0.35 day static const int64 nTargetSpacing = 15; // Worldcoin: 15 sec static const int64 nInterval = nTargetTimespan / nTargetSpacing;
static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 6 * 60 * 3 * 20; // digitalcoin: 6 hours static const int64 nTargetSpacing = 1 * 20; // digitalcoin: 20 seconds static const int64 nInterval = nTargetTimespan / nTargetSpacing;
The DGC block reward is far more practical at 20, WDC produces way too many coins per hour which makes it cheap. The only thing I would like to see changed in DGC is the number of confirmations increased from 4 to 10, with a 20sec block rate this is no big deal, but it would inspire confidence in people that understand the probability of a double spend attack.
