hey guys, can we get some people on fenican's please?

http://p2pool-dgc.com:9500 - fenican | 1% | Ashburn, VA, United States (Amazon)

not sure why everyone mining DGC is on 1 of about 2-3 major pools... isn't that against the spirit of decentralization?

not hating on the other pools, but come on there's no advantage to being in a pool which has almost half the hashing power of the whole network...

Well, i'm mining on dgc.epools because it's giving me the highest payout of any dgc server , either p2pool or pushpool Smiley

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

fenican's has given me %100 my projected daily payouts for the last 3 weeks... so not sure where else you've mined.

also luck is luck. as long as the pool "works" then all pools provide the exact same result.

hate this notion that some pools magically pay out more than others. it's not like your pool gets 30DGC per block and mine only gets 20.

what you're talking about is luck, and luck always varies, but evens out over time so that everything is equal. there's nothing preventing my pool from nailing the next 10 blocks, and yours taking a day to crack one. that's just the way things work.

unless there's actually something not working about a pool, or if the pool operator is taking a skim, then it's all the same.

will never understand the allegiance to the megapool... it runs couter to the core philosophy of decentralization which is crypto currencies to begin with... how can someone mine on a pool which has routine problems with being over 50% of the total network?

*EDIT, http://dgc.epools.org/ is CURRENTLY over %50... sigh

Don't forget that it will take you some time to ramp up to full payout on a pool that has PPLNS.

I believe that the more miners on the pool the longer it will take to reach the full PPLNS since your % of submitted shares is lower.

I considered lowering the PPLNS but found that it was not fair to lower hash rate miners.

We must spread the hashrate out.

Please move away from http://dgc.epools.org, its over 50% of the network.

You can find a new place to mine below or go solo like me:

http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com is a Scam. I just mined for 18 hrs and got half the coins I should have. Mining at 2150 KH/s -estimated 270 coins/day. I have 105 after 18 hrs.

How difficult is it to solomine on linux? or where can I find a pool that actually pays as it should?

Edit: Or maybe my low payout is a function of pool luck?

Anyone who joins a board and starts posting "SCAM" before they look into the details is a douche.  Help find the problem or ask around but we don't need people spreading FUD.  Please try to work with the pool operator before you go sullying people's good name.  Never begin a post with "This popular pool is a scam" despite the hundreds of others on the pool not having a problem.  Hell, PM me and ask me and I'll try my best to help.

P.S. Karsy, calling something a scam in the first sentence is not the way people should ask for help.  I think ending FUD is a good way to support crypto currency.  My etiquette may not be the best, but it is fully deserved.

NEW Digital Coin Mining Pool: http://dgc.pro-tech.bz.it

Easy stratum connect:
  • stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3336
(VARDIFF Stratum Server: available to everyone)
  • cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3336 -u username -p password -I 9

I'll jump in for awhile and give it a try.  Smiley

We could use some hash power over here.  Anyone else willing to try?

I would say that kinda the same thing goes for people like you. It is better to educate these people rather than responding with ignorance. If you don't want crypto-currencies to succeed, then please proceed.

hey thanks man, see? one person at a time and we can balance things out.

i wouldn't advise you go anywhere where you're not going to get your deserved rewards, but as i've seen this pool is good. only thing is that locally it looks like you're not getting as many accepts as other pools, however this is only local, and doesn't affect your payout, i'm assuming because it affects everyone equally. I'm hashing at about 750 too and i'm making anywhere from 60-80 per day, which i believe is right within the spec.

Seems like a good period of accumulation on the Cryptsy charts for DGC. Steady prices and smart buyers are moving in. Love what I see from this coin and it's dev team.

+1.

If a pool has too much hashrate and it gets DDOS'd or just goes down, it leaves the network more vulnerable to attack.

Yes, spread the hash...

The following two pools are contributing miners donation to the DGC Dev Fund:

http://dgcpool.com - 787.51343899 DGC and counting
http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com - 727.636601 DGC and counting

Show your support and spread some of your hashes.

Thanks,

Yep dgc is holding strong and resisting the pump and dump cycles of alot of the other coins. A nice even steady climb at the moment. Network hash rate tipped over 1GH/s today too.

Bright future for dgc esp with the upcoming developments and services planned .  Smiley
