If you can keep an account that you have then I am very confident that your account will be safe. Never store username, password, email or seed in any place. Because it can make a person take advantage of your negligence. And if the government forbids bitcoin I think you can still use bitcoin, you can try various network access such as VPN to still be able to access bitcoin. Many overseas services that provide services to send money directly to your BANK account in your country.

Hello pals,
Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?
for 8 years they have been trying and failing.

Quote
Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins?
the code!
it is a cryptocurrency and that means bitcoin uses cryptography to achieve that security. the cryptography that is being used in other places in the world too. and that makes it safe.

Quote
Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
what does this have anything to do with bitcoin security?

I'm sorry to disagree since everything can be hacked nowadays. A good example of it is SONY, For sure SONY has everything to protect their servers. But they too didn't expect that their walls are already breached. In terms of carelessness, I guess it's part of our human nature. We are not perfect though. The Government can easily manipulate the market of Bitcoin, they apply laws to prevent transactions. The idea of Bitcoin is the future is very much enlightening but as far as I know, Bitcoin is still in the process of acceptance. Bitcoin is not yet accepted worldwide, even to those countries that accepted it, only selected businesses thus accept Bitcoin as payment.

yes, bitcoin is secure, considering the fact, that before you obtain a bitcoin, you will need to have a wallet, the wallet itself is generated through codes, and you need to have a password, a pin, or a passphrase for you just to access your wallet. The wallet itself being encrypted gives you security already, then once you have a bitcoin to store in your wallet, you will also need your passwords or access to send your bitcoins, also your bitcoins has its own algorithm, hackers will have a hard time to get your bitcoins, just make sure the wallet that you have is secured, don;t give away the important details for your wallet and take care of where you are storing your coins, be it a desktop wallet or a ledger, don't be careless.

As everything happening with bitcoin is truly dependent on the internet connectivity there are chances of being getting hacked. In the past there are several security concerns regarding the security of the bitcoin holding. Now this has been made more secure with several features and different types of wallet availability and functionalities.

There is an important distinction between the security of the Bitcoin blockchain and the security of personal wallets. The blockchain is secure as long as nobody finds a way to hack the SHA-256 hash function, which is considered very solid. On the other hand, personal wallets can be stolen in various ways, and obviously exchanges can be hacked or untrustworthy.

Bitcoin is as secure as you make it. If you fail to take proper security precautions then you can kiss your Bitcoin goodbye eventually. It is only a matter of time. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who had Bitcoin from 2010 if they have been hacked/scammed I think over 50% would say yes... Shocked

It is impossible to hack the blockchain. The only thing they could get is the users private keys, seeds and account log in.
You will just to keep that secure.
Next thing is pick the best wallet that is most trusted and secured. Never go into any website or download things that are not secured. Torrents could have some worms that might get you in trouble.
Even anti viruses could steal every information in your computer.
Those are just the things you have to remind yourself.

Bitcoin is pretty secure as long as you take proper security measures and never disclose your private key then no one should be able to access them. But the thing is with enough processing power it can be theoretical cracked, but as of now even the best computers don't have such amount of processing, maybe quantum computing can change the tide but it's a long way to go. For now BTC is safe.

It depends on how you keep your bitcoins because there are many wallets for bitcoin such as online wallets and cold or you own the private keys. If you put your bitcoins in a online wallets, you keep you a risky way which is not secured. So to be secured, put your funds in a wallet that you own the private key.

blockchain has security equivalent of military security so hacking action is almost impossible for this but is different if the provider of wallet sites or your account is hacked. all currencies can be used as illegal activity but nothing prohibits the use of the currency. as long as I use bitcoin until today it is still secure.

Yes i think. I have a friend that is having a million of money now because she continues to earn it aside of having a job. He uses it as her another source of income or a sideline. Her money is safe. I cannot hear any news that her monay has been stolen. As long as you have the sucurity you doenst need to be worried.

don't confuse the security of a wallet specially a web wallet or an online wallet and the security of a third party service like exchanges with the security of bitcoin.
the former is just people's mistakes like not having a cold storage or having a malware on your computer that steals your private keys and with it your bitcoins. the later is directly related to bitcoin. and it means without it bitcoin can not even exist. and it is easily achievable too. just by following certain security rules, such as having a cold storage or simply buying a hardware wallet.

For now bitcoin is really secure as long as you don't disclosed your password to anyone.and bitcoin itself has its own security features.it is impossible to hack because it has a special wallet to keep secure.

I don't know if guys above me had answered it but I just want to input my own words. Bitcoin's blockchain or the system itself is comprised of a lot of layers in terms of security which no computational prowess can hack it and it will be in a far future to build a supercomputer to overcome this though in the future the security would increase by multiple fold by then since Bitcoin is continuosly developing so basically it is impregnable.

If you are talking about wallet providers then it is exposed to risks if your private keys are exposed so you need to keep it in a secure place. In terms of hot wallet (web wallet), this might be the one who is on the lowest level in terms of security since you are not in control of your private keys.
