Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers

I do believe that it is the most secure online currency out there. The thing is bitcoin has already been here since year 2009. Therefore, if it lasted that long then it will likely to last more years. This proves that bitcoin is still the most secure currency. That’s what I think.

As cryptography controls creation and transfer of cryptocurrency, and the protocol underlying bitcoin  are proving to be robust. However this hasn't stopped attackers fro.exploiting vulnerabilities within bitcoin exchange and wallet.
As bitcoin is decentralised and publicly open it do not provide enough security.

I think this is secure also but that's not problem at all because many people are using it now, so I think that the maker of bitcoin will make sure that he/she really secure of it to prevent further information about this bitcoin from being hack.

Bitcoin is secured to the level where no one can hack the bitcoin or bitcoin network.
Bitcoin network is peer-to-peer which means it does not belong to any government or corporation.
Thus, that makes it imppossible for government or any corporation to block it or shut it down. Smiley

The blockchain is strong enough to be impeneteable even to any hacks because of the cross-linking of thousands and thousands of computers all around the world. Bitcoins are therefore secure for a few more generations. It'll even take a lot more for hackers to even hack one computer from the block chain.

Yes it is secure except when you tell your pass or a private key
There is no doubt in this fact that bitcoin is highly secure currency and this is the only reason why people are using bitcoin for international transactions that are not easily possible with banks. Furthermore bitcoin is decentralized and we don’t need to answer anyone about how many bitcoins we are having and what we are doing with them. It is really not possible to hack famous bitcoin wallets.

I think the security of bitcoin is very good and we do not have to worry about it, as long as we can keep our bitcoin account well and correctly, bitcoin has a good future where nowadays we see many people getting to know and want to have bitcoin so no need to worry the government ban  bitcoin because I think it will not happen Kiss

Bitcoin is oviously secured till you are careful about your personal details.Bitcoin can hardly be hacked. The government also can't easily ban bitcoin. One can exchange bitcoin without  expressing selfidentity from one corner of the world to other.

One must secure his personal details as well as email, password, bitcoin wallet id etc.He must not save user name or password. He has to memorize those information or to keep safe. Then it will very hard for anyone to hack account as well as bitcoin.

Of course its really secure, after all its using Blockchain technology, which will cost you millions of dollars just to hack one, unless you're not careful enough then you're prone to hackers. Though you need to be careful in storing your private keys of your wallets, hackers can do a lots of exploits just to get those, so be mindful where you put your private keys and where you access those.

Keeping our private key on our laptop or desktop or mobile phones is not advisable. My advice is to write it down on paper or take a print out of your keys and keep in your lockers. I am keeping my keys in this format and putting all your bitcoins in one wallet is also not safe split it into different wallets.

The only weakness that could give an attacker the possibility to reverse payments (his own) would be the 51% attack, in which the attacker manages to have more than 50% of the total hash power. But this is highly unlikely, as this is impossible to reach with just normal computers. Bitcoin is really solid, the blockchain is invented to prevent attacks like you mentioned.

I think that it is safe and it is unlikely that something will change soon, but nobody steals identity theft Undecided
