If bitcoin replaces paper money then they will need to find a way to make bitcoin into paper too. This will also be a way to give government control over bitcoin.

there is no doubt that paper money has lot of weaknesses such as inflation, printed cost,... and certainly crypto is the future currency. However, at this moment, there are some legality problems need to be solved before.
You need to consider the negative side of the cryptocurrencies and that is the volatility which is they are not stable and more prone to price changes and confusions for the people because they will not have a comfortable price over the time because every time the price is changing based on the rate of the exchange so i think, there is a lot of things that we need to fix in crypto before it replaces the paper money.

If we talk about crypto and paper money it's not about who will stay alive, because they are for different tasks. Untill there are people on Earth, they would always need a touchable, energy-free and off-line equivalents, like paper money, gold, diamonds, whatever. Crypto is a strongest threat to Visa/Mastercard/AmEx and whole centralised financial system as well. It happens because of fantastic success of cryptocurriencies during all last years. So I would rather belive that cryptocurrencies will replace  digital currency and bank centralised system.

That's actually a really good point.  I didn't think about energy-free/off-line uses..which is a very real possibility.  Thanks for bringing that up!

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
I don't think digital money will replace paper money. First, there is no universally recognized digital currency, and it is difficult for digital currencies to be used in all countries of the world. Second, digital money needs the Internet, and in many countries, the Internet is not widely used.

Yes. If we analyze the behavior of money transaction with the evolution, we can see that usage of online payment has risen up rapidly due to increase of online shopping of goods and services. With this trend digital money has to play huge role.

I dont thing so, maybe some time. Today the main problem is exchange rate turbulences because of alt coins correlation with BitCoin. There is already solution like Nebula Network based on its own blockchain and with stable exchange rate separated from BitCoin, but it's still rare on the cryptocurrency market.

In my own personal opinion I don't think digital money would entirely replace paper money. Yes most people in the world are using cryptocurrency as form of payment, investment, buying digital products etc. But we also know the fact that not all people do have power and internet connections, those people that is not aware and cannot use technology and doesn't have interest on it will continue to use paper money.

I don't think that digital currency can completely replace the currency of paper currency. The currency of currency has its irreplaceable advantages. It will not be replaced at least in the short term. Many people do not understand even smart phones.
If not completely but it is almost vanish by digital currency, people like to use bitcoin not the paper money to achieve the goal of life, now it is easy to pay for everything without any problem as much as the bitcoin is growing the more it is being popular and people are trusting bitcoin more than anything else. i think the future of paper money is quite dark because of bitcoin, people are now educated and they know it well that how to deal with the rise and fall of bitcoin price, and how to use it for better result.

Some kind of digital currency might replace paper money in the future but it won't be anytime soon. Also it won't be Bitcoin for sure. Bitcoin won't replace any government's currency.

I think that not everyone will agree with the transition to digital money, but gradually the transition will still occur.

I think it's unlikely. If we lose the Internet then crypto will be useless because it will not be able to pay.

This could be posible in the next good years because the system it's much more better than the system of paper money. Sure , the blockchain is not perfectly at the moment but with the coming years the evolution will increase for sure.

Yes, digital money will replace paper money. But it's a long and hard way. Blockchain grows slowly as it evolves.

I say that digital currency will not be possible to replace paper money. Because not everyone can use digital currency. thanks
Yes, if we based on today's world situation then it is impossible to replaced paper money as not all people in the whole world know about crypto currency, but there is a big possibility that crypto currency is the future money of humanity, since the world is racing for advance technology and part of that is the full digital technology that can change all the people on the way they lived including all monetary transaction.

In a longer period of time, digital currency and banknotes will coexist. For us, when it comes time to withdraw money from the bank, we can either choose to exchange cash in kind or choose to exchange digital currency.

The virtual currency innovation is necessary to meet the emerging and transforming technological space to meet the mounting daily volume transactions. And this is indeed a welcome development. The crypto graphic ledgers on which the virtual currencies are sent is marked and matched in a smart contract. Bitcoin is a unique, decentralized digital money, no third-party, per-click, and bitcoin, unlike other currencies that are only used as a means of payment only, but bitcoin has now become an investment trend for investors because of its uniqueness.

What do you mean by digital currency if it's Bitcoin than I don't appreciate with that because of most of the countries didn't accept it and it also not to replace with paper money. we need both of it and Both things which is essential for us.

I guess so someday, sometime in the future, its not possible since we are now in modern era technology is up rising and the new wave will come soon and so this digital currency is but a preparation of what is to come, now its now safe to carry cash with you for there are many people out there who can do harm to you that is why to make it more safe and secure they choose to do it through digital wallet instead.
