Ivan, I think that you are the developer and can you say, why the developers team write the code without a community?

Unfortunately not. I'm juts investor and a little bit miner.
But yours question is really good..

Makalone’s wallet

To launch cross platform GUI wallet is a great idea. But devs should point deadline for that and for other development features.

And miners cant wait something in future they need return money for thier rigs.
And naive to believe that exchanges will list VOT when GUI wallet worked. They look for coin potential in big community, future development and coin application.

It can be when GUI wallet luanch the community and miners support become so low that all good VoteCoin features dont need anyone. So here I agree with ianj.

Devs should done new roadmap with deadlines and add more marketing in VoteCoin evolution.
I think listing on good exchange is a prime aim so devs need to get actual status for listing from Yobit team.

99.9% of people are unable to use a wallet without GUI. How do you want to build a big community if people can't use the wallet?  Cheesy What do you want to market?  Cheesy
GUI wallet -> bigger community -> support of the exchanges

I 100% agree, if you can't get a decent GUI out then this won't go anywhere. People don't want to invest the time to figure out complicated ways to get this working.

Ok guys if GUI wallet is needed and devs are going to do it so let us know deadline for that.

How is about shells for console? Are they good? May be devs can take one as official?

They are just works, and do the job.
But people don't trust 3rd party wallets. I think it's a great idea at the moment for devs to check those wallets and "approve" them, what they are working and can be used without worries. List on the first page and make a little guide how to work with them, it's actually pretty easy - simply run daemon and after that run client for your choice and viola - you've working GUI wallet for Votecoin.

As a contributor of one of the wallets i concur. I created it as a necessity for my usage. It has faults (the explorer link does not work) and is clunky to install (i can fix that) but without some form of core acknowledgement it will not be accepted as a core wallet (Suggestion - have more than 1 wallet)

Although the coin network may be based on consensus, the development is not !

Why should i, as a developer, expend more effort on something that is perfectly good for me, unless there is an avenue for recognition. It will not be widely adopted or recognised as a validation check (say to get into yobit !!!!!!) for the coin in general unless it is recognised.

The argument on it not being aesthetically pleasing is very subjective at best, and moot in the absence of an alternative, and i must admit that i haven't even tried the other wallets as mine works for me.

SHOW ME YOURS BEFORE COMPLAINING !!

This takes real time from my day - tell me why ?

An Ethereum Voting Scheme ....        https://www.coindesk.com/voting-scheme-ethereum-doesnt-give-away-vote/

This stuff is soooo relevant .... and Andreas Antonopoulos  is awesome ..

This panel discusses the aspiration of Self-Sovereign Identity within our current systems of identity management - in social networks, hospitals, banks, government databases, or (sadly) the next data dump. Is our identifying information essential to our daily lives, or is it collected based on an unquestioned security theater that profiles and exploits the vulnerable? Can identity be automated, decentralized, secure, and global? Must we rely on third-party custodians to define who we are? Could we regain control of our selves?

VOT exchange rate is very low now. So the best way for support VOT is mining any other Equihash coin, sell it and then buy VOTs. It's better than mining VOT directly unfortunatelly

BTC   Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System   BTC
A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they'll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

You can wait 1-2 weeks and buy some VOTs for 1 satoshi.

Its sad to see the progress made so slowly, but i guess its the best dev can do, as a small team, with a small ICO funding.

We have recently implemented changes of Zcash 1.0.12 which included bug fixes and usability improvements.
Also a new RPC method z_shieldcoinbase was added as an experimental feature, for easily shielding coinbase UTXOs.

Release here: https://github.com/Tomas-M/VoteCoin/releases/tag/v1.0.12

Summary of the changes included in this release:

  • added z_shieldcoinbase as an experimental feature.
  • changed the importprivkey RPC method to return the public address corresponding to the imported key.
  • fixed build issues encountered when using GCC 7.
  • added support for fetching the public network parameters from IPFS.

There are several files in this release. If you are a new user, download VoteCoin-v1.0.12-Win-All.zip.
This file is around 800MB big and contains everything (VoteCoin textmode server, client, and zkSNARK proving keys).

If you upgrade from previous release, you can download VoteCoin-v1.0.12-Win-only-binaries.zip which contain only the executables votecoind.exe and votecoin-cli.exe.
Shutdown any old version you may be using and replace these executables with newest versions.

If you are a Linux user, you can either download Linux binaries, or compile VoteCoin from sources.
In all cases, make sure to backup your data before any operation, especially the wallet.dat file.

Though many are thrilled happening and therefore accumulates a lot of questions to the developers, but I look at it quickly and promptly respond to questions. I think though the work and the results are not the same as the community expects, but still good enough. I will continue to watch how it goes.

well, most of the questions are about the exchanges and we gave answers many times already.

We really don't know what's wrong with Yobit listing. We check the site every day to see if they happen to list VOT, but still no sign of listing. We've opened ticket with Yobit support, still no answer from them. What can we do more?

We just have to wait.

Meanwhile, we've subitted VOT to all 4 exchanges boo50 suggested earlier in this thread. Other than that we've submitted to:
Poloniex
Bittrex
HitBTC
And some smaller exchanges.

We've submitted VOT to coinmarketcap.com too, but they probably list coins with trade volume bigger than $10k daily.
We want VOT to be listed on exchanges, but it is not as easy as we thought it would be.

Someone mentioned Bitcoinz in this thread. They also forked Zcash, so basically it is same coin as VOT (except they have 21mld total supply of tokens), They've started about 1,5 months before us and they are still listed only on TradeSatoshi as well. They have no other active exchanges listings, check for yourself:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoinz/#markets

We feel the pressure from the community and we are doing everything we can. But replying to the same questions about exchanges all the time will not help us to get anywhere. We continue working on GUI Wallet, we updated the core client 3 days ago.
But for listing on exchanges, we just have to wait.
