what exactly is coin swap?
A coin swap is the process of sending in your old coins and getting new coins back. This usually happens when a coin gets a drastic technical change/upgrade, like moving to a new network. ColossusCoin V2 (CV2) had a coin swap and turned in to ColossusCoinXT (COLX). The coin swap ended December 28, 2017 on NovaExchange. so why was CV2 swapped for this coin? I saw CV2's price sank like a rock. What's the history here? I believe because COLX now uses the Pivx code base for anonymous transactions, so they switched blockchain. I'm not 100% sure if that was the sole reason for the swap though.. I guess CV2's price dropped because everyone was swapping and not trading, which makes sense.

Did people loose money on it?

The swap was 2:1 Any one who held onto their COLX, had a bit of patience, and didn't dump has now came out way ahead. I'll say it again . . patience pays in crypto. The swap is now closed. Do not buy any cv2 hoping to swap to COLX to arbitrage. The swap lasted months and everyone was given ample time to swap their coins . . either on Nova or when the team was doing it manually. Funny, how whenever a coin swap ends, and there is a significant price difference between the old and new coins,, there are always a couple people who come and say: "I didn't know! I need to swap" Uh, yea . . ok

after2 days of straggle manged to get some colx from tradesatoshi, it was nightmare,
Yes it was a struggle earlier today too! I placed 3 buy orders and finally on the 4th try it went thru. I did not leave them on TradeSatoshi though. I transferred them to my Colx wallet and made sure I backed it up!!! How did u configure your wallet, needs some help pls, mine is out of sync Go to ColossusCoinXT.org. You'll have to get the latest anodes and copy them into the .ini file along with the staking command. Maybe someone more skilled than me can post the commands here...they're here somewhere in this thread though.

BRUTE FORCE PASSPHRASE RECOVERY?? COLX wallet.dat
Feeling pretty silly right now.. I've had a 'copy/paste' issue with the pass phrase which I've encrypted my COLX wallet with, I think rather than the actual passphrase I've probably pasted a file system path as the phrase instead.
I need to figure out a way I can try and make brute force attempts to unlock the wallet to recover the coins.
Is anyone is able to suggest an approach for doing this? or point me in the direction of a tutorial or something?
I have tried to research this, and I've found a few references to brute forcing qt wallets - but I'm unsure of the specifics of these and whether I can simply use that approach for the colx wallet.. any guidance would be most appreciated..
Did you check the backup folder for a wallet before you enabled encryption. I've done that just now and there appears to be a wallet.dat from before the wallet was encrypted (I'm also quite sure I created a backup before encrypting in case of something like this happening), however when I replace the file with either of these backups and open it it's still showing as encrypted. - is there a recovery process I need to follow? - I'm assuming all the encryption data is contained within the .dat file itself? So did you take one of the early backups rename it to wallet.dat and replace your current wallet.dat if the date was before you enabled encryption it should work and not as you for a password.

Really? I bought some yesterday but it did take about 4 tries before the order went thru. The exchanges are swamped I guess...must be more sellers than buyers tho with such a down day...suckers!😏

No offense, but beware a newbie account trying to buy coins peer-to-peer.

Hello guys. Can someone help me, please?. My coins in the wallet have been lying still for more than a week, but for some reason stacking does not begin. The wallet is synchronized, connection to the network is correct, about 12 connections.

I had that as well in the beginning. Make sure you have you wallet unlocked for staking and that you added the line staking=1 to the conf file. If that still doesn't help, go to Tools > Debug Console and enter getstakingstatus If you see a line saying mintablecoins = false, that means your coins don't have enough confirmations on the chain yet. They need around 10000 confirmations. To check how many confirmations your coins have at the moment, go to Preferences, then to the Wallet tab and check Enable coin control features. Click Ok and go to the Send tab. Under Coin Control Features, click Inputs. There you'll see an overview of your coins and their confirmations. This should fix everything for you.. if you run into any other problems, let me know!

I'd also like to buy some COLX but don't have an account in Tradesatoshi and the webpage doesn't let you register. Coinsmarkets site is down. Any other suggestions where to buy some?

No offense, but beware a newbie account trying to buy coins peer-to-peer. Cant argue with that, I have the same username on reddit where I have more posts and have done this before. Any suggestions other than just trying to wait for these exchanges to work?

Hey, what kind of team is behind COLX? Couldn't find a list of developers on their website and didn't like their webpage design in general. Not yet convinced if this is something to invest in or not.
