datacoin immutable storage just increased by 4 MB.

I archived all currently known exoplanets with keywords #planet #Planet #Planets #planets here:

@embii:  Wonderful.  I notice the cost was only 0.55DTC  Shocked  I suppose eventually we will use Apertus to load our Hyperledger smart contracts into the Datacoin blockchain?  In fact we should already be able to load dtc2017's Datacoin Marbles demo into the blockchain.  Other smart contracts could then define auctions, poker games, SatoshiDice etc which would run in the Apertus browser and use Datacoin/Mazacoin/Bitcoin as the underlying currencies.  Hyperledger's smart contracts are written in Javascript, so everything ties together.

@dtc2017:  For Hyperledger Marbles I installed 64-bit Lubuntu and I am now running Composer Playground at localhost:8080.
I noticed you have to use "docker stop" and "docker rm" to get the containers to behave.

Now I will see if I can run Marbles on Composer Playground.  I have actually installed all the development packages (git/go/node.js/etc) and pulled a full instance of Fabric (tools/couchdb/kafka/zookeeper/orderer/peer/javaenv/ccenv/ca)  but before I go that route of running Marbles on a local Hyperledger Fabric I want to see if I can run it on a local Composer Playground.

.55 DTC was the cost of the keywords and the  DTC -> DTC-V Link which allow the variable data to be found by searching for #Planet #planet #Planets or #planets
the actual cost to store the 4.91MB was 250.5 DTC

Ok, that is actually a little better.  That is a very nice cost for valuable data like websites and smart contracts.

I thought about our fee and the bloat on the blockchain.  I think technology will come to the rescue:  1TB hard drives come cheap these days, and 1PB is probably not far off.

Hi all, nice to see all te effort in this project, a few weeks ago I bought some DTC on BTCpop, any tips on getting it into a wallet or leave it on the exchange? where can i find the basic info about this? coin supply/wallet/etc? Is there any coinmarketcap indicator live at the moment or will this be active in a later stage of the project? THNX greetz

I would say hold at least half in your own private wallet.  BTCPOP is an excellent exchange but you have to plan properly.  On the first page of this thread there are several wallets, one of which should be right for your platform.  We have Mac and Debian wallets listed, amongst others.  Look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2188160.0.  Current coins in circulation is about 28 million, with a final cap of 2 billion to be issued in the next 400 years.  So we will reach the cap sometime after the year 2400.
BTCPOP does not currently have API's, and they cannot be used to update Coinmarketcap.  But they are doing a recoding of their site, and API's will be included from January or February 2018.  At that point we should be able to revive the old listing of Datacoin on Coinmarketcap.  We will probably gain a second exchange in 2018.  Possibly 2.  Then we can go for Shapeshift, Coinomi and Open Bazaar.

Graham Higgins, Chicago and Verionum are updating the client to get it in line with Bitcoin 0.15.  dtc2017 is integrating Datacoin with the smart contract framework of IBM's Hyperledger Fabric. sampei7777 has developed a protocol for creating and transferring digital assets and Apertus is using Datacoin for storing data (and much more).

Unfortunately the original developer of this coin seems to have encountered some sort of problem and pulled away from the project.  The coin lost momentum and at least 5 exchanges.  But the current (hysteria?) around Bitcoin is leading to a revival.  There are still persistent sellers on the market (old whales) but the future looks bright.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the good wishes and the same to you and yours.  This year has been fantastic, and next year is going to be even better!

Talking of better - I see there is a whale trying to buy 400 000 DTC on BTCPOP.

Hi guys,

How do you think, why should someone prefer Datacoin, if there are already Sia, Storj and (?) Filecoin probably? Could you please explain what are interesting things around DTC in technical aspect now?

Yesterday to get my local network running I ended up having to remove all containers then starting fabric again so

docker rm -f $(docker ps -aq)

./startFabric.sh

that's on 64-bit ubuntu

This one should be great, having our data stored in a save place and also there is related with digital coins at the same time.
I think this is a great combination.
Yes you are right this project will be great because one of the priority is too keep our data safe.
