Hi guys. I think most of you don't know\remember me. I was the man who was actively contributing to Datacoin at its very beginning I used to lead promotions, design contests, talking to people interested in DTC, and owned initial datacoin.info website/email/twitter. You can easily check this in my old posts. I'm very sorry that I left crypto for many years and didn't answer messages and emails, but now I decided to return back. The crypto world has changed completely since I logged off from bitcointalk in 2014, I see this. Probably I can do something for Datacoin or other really interesting projects. I'll keep an eye on this thread. p.s. at least I remember GameKyuubi and extro24 ! Jesus, Christ, Horus, Shiva, Buddha whatever. You are alive. Seems like the snakes are all moving. We have also detected oocook5u, but he retains his silence in the forum. One thing where we desperately need help is datacoin.info. It is still referred to as our website, with disastrous consequences because it has never been updated. The current owner is Claude Royer, who responds to nothing that we send him. I even phoned him in California, with the phone recording a disconnection. Last I saw was that his house was sold, so I don't know what is going on. Problem is he renewed the domain again last year. Datacoin.io is registered to namecheap.com and seems to be for sale. I have tried to buy it, but they require some money even to entertain the offer. Currently we are busy with the voting campaign on Next Exchange. We need 250 to start the due diligence, and we stand at 215. Maybe you can help there. Hamburger has created an online wallet for Datacoin at https://datacoin.tk/wallet. He has included QR codes and works in PHP. I think that was one of your languages. Chicago did Datacoin 0.8.6 and I think he is now on Datacoin 0.9. Our current developers are Chicago, Graham Higgins and Verionum. Apertus.io implemented a virtual instance of the IBM PC on the Datacoin blockchain. They are planning on doing Windows 95. This may become the virtual machine for smart contracts that Datacoin will need in the future (if they can sort out issues like viruses). Maybe that interests you. We have an integration effort with Hyperledger for smart contracts, started by myself and dtc2017. Maybe you can have a look at that. I haven't seen you on BTCPOP, our exchange. https://btcpop.co/Exchange/DTC. We are waiting for the API so that we can reactivate the Datacoin listing on CoinMarketCap. You might find me there in the chat. There were a lot of things that you did that I would like to follow up. For now I will confine myself to saying thank you and welcome back. -extro

But that's a good question which domain do we really need for now. Probably we can proceed with something like 'datacoin.solutions' or 'datacoin.center' . I have some virtual servers, and I can dedicate one or more for DTC purposes. I'll check exchange voting and see if I can do something. Apertus.io looks very promising. But why, WHY are they planning to work with Windows 95? It's possible to run some tiny Linux distribution (potentially ~100MB) on the blockchain, it will be much more flexible than win95. And I will take a look on Hyperledger and the btcpop exchange, probably we'll be able to chat! edited: I've checked other major exchanges, and the prices of listing are just unbelievable. In some cases the price is close to the whole DTC 'market cap' at the moment edited2: probably we can continue with website named like datacoin.community or datacoin.foundation . That looks like quite long names, but the idea behind this (especially .community) makes sense.

It is one vote per IP address. When your IP address changes (like with a dynamic IP address) you get another vote Just change your browser. I use Firefox, Opera and Chrome: 3 votes in 5 seconds. Besides, I have a second PC with 2 browsers: another 2 votes in 3 seconds If you then use Tor browser or similar: a lot of votes in a short time - good work guys - Fantastic - we are at 161 upvotes for Datacoin. Everybody - we need 89 more upvotes to reach 250. Then we can engage the Next Exchange for them to do their due diligence. -extro We are over 250 votes on Nextexchange IMPORTANT: Do not stop voting! https://nextexchange.featureupvote.com/suggestions/3099/datacoin-dtcBut... I noticed that nobody is voting on Altcoin.io, why Today I have made over 40 Come on guys, it costs nothing! https://feedback.altcoinexchange.com/suggestions/3230/datacoin-dtc

Sorry, I was so busy on the Next Exchange Telegram channel that I forgot to vote on Altcoin. Just note that Altcoin.io will probably require us to be at Datacoin 0.10.0. Currently we are starting with 0.9.0. I have a really good felling about Next. The same feeling that I had about BTCPOP. Listing is for free, just like BTCPOP. But they accept a huge number of fiat currencies, so prices should be better. I suggest that everybody join the Next Telegram channel and chat with their developers. They are super available. Make sure you mention Datacoin somewhere. We are now on 291 votes. I would like us to be above Streamr, because they call their Ethereum ICO a "DATAcoin". They are at 376.

Price seems to be rolling up. Last trade at 91 Satoshi on BTCPOP. https://btcpop.co/Exchange/DTC.

We are currently lying at the 65th position. To be safe I think we should try to be in the top 50 (the first page of the rankings). I believe we will get there. The Datacoin community has become quite strong. The Next Exchange is quite a big deal. They will be using 38 fiat currencies, including the Indian Rupee and the Chinese Yuan. Even the South African Rand is there The Netherlands have a permissible financial environment. The Amsterdam Stock Exchange is the oldest in the world. I have a very good feeling about our chances with the Next Exchange, similar to my feelings about BTCPOP. Vote. And vote again! And comment. That is also counted as a vote. -extro

Next Exchange Vote We have passed Streamr! They are on 386 and Datacoin is on 423. Now we need to get to 500 to ensure that we are in the top 50 and on the front page of the vote rankings. I am sure we will get there. At the moment we are lying at 58. So vote, vote again and comment! Goto https://nextexchange.featureupvote.com/suggestions/3099/datacoin-dtcI listed BTCPOP on the vote entry for Datacoin on the Next Exchange. I think that is why the Datacoin price has been going up the past few days: https://btcpop.co/Exchange/DTC. As people scrutinize the coins that are likely to make it onto the Next Exchange they are also buying them. -extro

Why the new thread?
Oocook5u, the creator of Datacoin, has disappeared. The Datacoin community is unable to edit the OP, so we created a new thread.

Isn't Datacoin related to Streamr?
No, not at all. Datacoin is a cryptocurrency, similar to Bitcoin. It was created in 2013. Streamr DATAcoin, as they call themselves, is an Ethereum ICO created last year. Technically, it is an ERC20 token. There is no relationship between the two.

... edited: I've checked other major exchanges, and the prices of listing are just unbelievable. In some cases the price is close to the whole DTC 'market cap' at the moment I see what you mean. Novaexchange charges one bitcoin to get listed, and you can pay an extra 0.2 bitcoins a year to keep a low volume coin listed. https://novaexchange.com/faq/frequently_asked_questions/If it is a new and untested currency we do accept Pay to List service. Currently, there is a setup fee of 1 BTC and a yearly fee of 0.25 BTC - this yearly fee does not apply to coins that have a trading volume of at least 0.2 BTC over a three (3) weeks period. In order to list a coin, its wallet must have an open source code available for inspecting trojans and other malware that could manipulate Novaexchange as a service. Datacoin market cap = $17,458 USD Novaexchange listing = $12,942 USD However Coinexchange.io only wanted 0.25 BTC to list a coin last year. That's a better price if it's still available.
Weve asked coinexchange.io if they would list the coin but they sais
Coinexchange.io said
There is a 0.25 BTC fee for new coin additions. New coins are added within 24 hours of payment.

Datacoin 0.8.6 Just a reminder to all users/miners etc that Datacoin 0.8.6 is available for downloading and testing. You can get it here: https://github.com/CoiningPress/datacoin/releasesNo issues have been reported, and I would like to believe that Datacoin version 0.8.6 is stable and should be moved to production status. That will happen after a discussion between the developers. Hopefully we will then be able to commence work on Datacoin 0.9.0. -extro
