Total supply 2 000 000 000? Do you not think about burning some coins?
That will only be reached in the year 2400 (400years from now). Total mined so far is 30million.

Hello, I would like to further decentralize our bootstrapping process. The Datacoin Seeder utility crawls the network and runs a modified DNS server to give fresh active peer addresses to the Datacoin clients. I'd like a pair of them running on Mainnet and Testnet from various points around the planet. It would be super to have at least one of the sets in the datacoininfo.org namespace. The other pair does not need to be in any specific namespace. Outputs from Datacoin Seeder include a continuously updated plain text file which may be served up on a webpage. # address good lastSuccess %(2h) %(8h) %(1d) %(7d) %(30d) blocks svcs version 45.63.115.238:4777 1 1519222186 100.00% 98.23% 73.96% 17.49% 4.39% 2293138 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 148.251.2.141:4777 1 1519222186 100.00% 98.23% 73.96% 17.49% 4.39% 2293138 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 67.171.47.17:4777 1 1519222167 100.00% 98.23% 73.94% 17.48% 4.38% 2293138 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.6/Datacoin:0.1.2(v0.1.2.0dtc-hp14-gunk-beta)/" 78.46.37.209:4777 1 1519222186 100.00% 98.23% 73.94% 17.48% 4.38% 2293138 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 119.9.108.125:4777 1 1519222167 100.00% 98.23% 73.92% 17.47% 4.38% 2293137 00000001 70001 "/Datacoin:0.8.6/Datacoin:0.1.2(v0.8.6.0)/" [2001:19f0:6801:3b9:5400:1ff:fe35:be4f]:4777 1 1519222167 100.00% 98.23% 73.92% 17.47% 4.38% 2293138 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 54.37.46.84:4777 1 1519221816 100.00% 98.21% 73.82% 17.42% 4.37% 2293131 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" [2a01:4f8:13b:1819::2]:4777 1 1519221816 100.00% 98.21% 73.82% 17.42% 4.37% 2293131 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" [2401:1800:7800:104:be76:4eff:fe1c:5d6]:4777 1 1519221780 100.00% 98.20% 73.81% 17.42% 4.37% 2293130 00000001 70001 "/Datacoin:0.8.6/Datacoin:0.1.2(v0.8.6.0)/" 45.77.62.129:4777 1 1519221780 100.00% 98.20% 73.79% 17.41% 4.37% 2293130 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 94.130.220.2:4777 1 1519221780 100.00% 98.20% 73.79% 17.41% 4.37% 2293130 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 144.76.64.49:4777 1 1519221449 100.00% 98.19% 73.75% 17.39% 4.36% 2293122 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" [2a01:4f8:201:528c::2]:4777 1 1519221449 100.00% 98.19% 73.74% 17.39% 4.36% 2293123 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" [2a01:4f8:110:31ac::2]:4777 1 1519221449 100.00% 98.19% 73.74% 17.39% 4.36% 2293123 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/" 89.76.251.96:4777 1 1519221449 100.00% 98.18% 73.71% 17.38% 4.36% 2293122 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.5/" 70.189.143.183:4777 0 1519194775 2.35% 37.36% 46.96% 13.05% 3.33% 2107959 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.6/Datacoin:0.1.2(v0.1.2.0dtc-hp14-g$Format:%h$-beta)/" 176.215.205.240:4777 0 1519188088 0.92% 28.38% 40.01% 11.56% 2.96% 2292500 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.6/Datacoin:0.1.2(v0.1.2.0dtc-hp14-gunk-beta)/" 139.59.84.79:4777 0 1519218885 21.49% 32.88% 22.47% 4.75% 1.17% 2293061 00000001 70001 "/Satoshi:0.8.3/"
The seeder's main function is to respond to DNS queries and provide fresh IPv4/IPv6 addresses of our nodes. This improves connectivity for the new users joining our peer swarm as they'll be able to establish more connections very quickly. If you're interested in running an instance and already have some experience with Sipa's Bitcoin Seeder than this will be an easy task for you. Otherwise, we're more than happy to help facilitate any mentoring necessary to improve the Datacoin network backbone. After the new pair of crawlers / seeders are online we will update the Datacoin repository and publish new builds so they are found by clients on startup. Best Regards, -Chicago

greetings team datacoin hugpuddle.org is back in the trenches writing a platform agnostic API service that exposes all the current functionality of Apertus.io (code name nio) we are limiting support of the current browser and bitfossil.com to focus on this new direction. the nio service hosts a simple web front end that implements the API layer and runs in any modern browser. features we are delivering first:wallet configuration and setup. storage and retrieval of data (optional quantum resistant encryption). real time blockchain monitoring and indexing. user profile / identity creation. trust management / content blocking / white listing. public / private group or direct messaging. #keyword creation, full text searching and following. (twitter) website publishing, searching and browsing. (google) our goal is to create a completely decentralized, private, censorship free, searchable world wide web. blockchains like datacoin and services designed for decentralized data storage will be fully integrated. we will be releasing nio-0.1-beta as a hugpuddle.org open source project later in the year. the current bitfossil.com service will be powered by an internet facing instance of nio at this time as well. we are super excited to see your team's progress and to grow with you into the future. I'll give the guidance based on the particulars of your preferred distribution. The gist of it is cloning the repository and then running make. After that its placing an NS and A record into Global DNS and then you're off to the races. Best Regards, -Chicago

Hi,
Graymines pool is lowering fee from 5% to 2%! Also backup pool is planned in not so distant future :-P
Good luck and have fun! M.
Thank you Marcus. With 3 exchanges and listing on CoinMarketCap mining is really worth it again. See how the coin has recovered:

"nio guard the infinite" <3 embii Thank you embii! So Apertus will become a browser plugin. Nice. No more need for a Linux version! And straight onto Android! Any thoughts about a DNS service? You would be "booting" off your chains anyway. Add some domain resolution (in Datacoin) and you take over the whole Internet From the browser! Methinks that you are a smart contract layer for your coins. A virtual machine like that IBM emulator. Maybe allow the Javascript interpreter to handle Hyperledger chaincode? Dynamite. Dangerous thoughts. But such delicious! -extro

If porting Datacoin's unique storage feature as a new script opcode into a plain Core clone becomes an understood process - - then perhaps we're left with just two more pieces.
I wasn't planning to take that route. The Datacoin approach is reasonably straightforward, uses an extra field in the CTransaction object, no impact on the opcode/scripting at all (afaict). Or have I missed something critical? I'd imagine the experiments would start by taking 0.8 Bitcoin/Litecoin and doing a big-bang with the additional script.
Even better, gatra's Riecoin is a primes-as-proof-of-work clone of straight Bitcoin 0.8.3, not a hint of “ppcoin” anywhere in the sources and a very useful set of version branches. remotes/origin/0.10.2 remotes/origin/0.6.2 remotes/origin/0.6.3 remotes/origin/0.7.2 remotes/origin/0.8.1 remotes/origin/0.8.3 remotes/origin/0.8.4 remotes/origin/0.8.5 remotes/origin/0.8.6 remotes/origin/0.8.6-ric remotes/origin/0.9.1 remotes/origin/0.9.2 remotes/origin/HEAD -> origin/0.10.2 remotes/origin/blockheaders remotes/origin/freenode-verf remotes/origin/master remotes/origin/master-ric
So, I was able to upgrade foo1inge (via Primecoin) to 0.8.4 and 0.8.5 and then pull up to 0.8.6, at which point I was able to shimmy over to 0.8.6-ric, pick up the (albeit Riecoin-specific) primes-as-PoW architecture, then take a long running jump and grab to Datacoin 0.9.1. Which is where I am atm, cross-referencing against a Minkiz Foundry 0.9 Bitcoin Core template (to identify common change points). At this point, the refactoring of foo1inge Datacoin-specific code is still significantly incoherent with respect to the 0.9.1 base, so the next step is a cross-comparison of Datacoin vs its original cloneparent at the point of cloning - to more precisely delineate the original footprint of the Datacoin-specific changes and use that as reference for the final refactoring of the Datacoin code so that it is coherent w.r.t to an 0.9.1 codebase. It should only be a standing jump to 0.10 from there, iirc. And the only remaining Prime/PPcoin code will be limited to that which is required by the Datacoin-specific PoW routines, i.e. not a lot. Cheers Graham Looking through the original Datacoin client it seems that the Datacoin specific code is actually not too much. Most of it is the normal Primecoin/Datacoin replacements, with the real work occurring in bitcoinrpc.cpp, rpcrawtransactions.cpp, rpcwallet.cpp, wallet.cpp and wallet.h. Prime.cpp and prime.h seems to be the location for the POW, which is put into miner.cpp and miner.h in 0.10. If we rolled back the Riecoin specific commits in Riecoin 0.9 and Riecoin 0.10 we would basically get Primecoin 0.9 and Primecoin 0.10. Effectively we would be replacing Riecoin's prime constellation POW with Primecoin's Cunningham chains POW. Then applying the Datacoin specific code we would end up with Datacoin 0.9 and Datacoin 0.10. I know that I am oversimplifying, but I am trying to get my thoughts in order. We could even put in a pull request to the Primecoin repository to provide them with an upgrade to 0.9 and 0.10. -extro

Does anyone know why one sometimes see unkown mining addresses (which are not your main address) appearing in the transactions when blocks are solved?

Datacoin Ranking
Datacoin is now ranked 860 on CoinMarketCap. That is some improvement on 1059 but still a long way to go.
I think we need to be in the first 200 before the big exchanges will notice us in a meaningful way.
I am hopeful that as more miners come on board the price of Datacoin will rise. This is because as the difficulty goes up the block reward drops, which leads to a drop in the number of Datacoins issued every day. It is in fact possible for large miners to "choke off" the supply of Datacoin, leading to greater scarcity and a higher price.

New to datacoin and curious about the mechanic.
Is there a website to browse the data that has been uploaded to the blockchain? Something like the link that was posted about the quote.jpg but where i can kinda explore the data
And is there a simple guide on how to upload stuff?

Apertus.io ( https://apertus.io) and bitfossil ( www.bitfossil.com). Type "datacoin" in the search. There is also DTCBrowser ( www.github.com/datacoinproject/dtcbrowser).
