Hi Team! Testnets still not syncing, but I now have a Datacoin testnet node on a static public IP. It's 108.161.137.90 If you have a testnet node, please let me know what it is, I'll add it to my testnets. And please let me know how I can greater facilitate creating a testnet swarm! Kind Regards, The DataSea

Testnet update:
Goodnews: My 0.15.99.08 testnet on 108.161.137.90 has connected to 185.18.60.157 & 88.98.87.243!
Badnews: The chain does not advance. gjhiggins discovered the testnet client is unable to mine via setgenerate true. I confirmed this on my own clients.
Current assessment: testnet can connect to some other 0.15.99.08 clients, but not other types of Datacoin clients, and is unable to advance the chain because it cannot mine within the wallet.
Plan: Request that any capable developer please discover the problem in the code and make the appropriate fixes. Let me know how I can be off assistance -- and if bounties are required, I'm not opposed -- but to be clear, simply buy a couple hundred dollars worth of Datacoin, make Datacoin awesome, then sell later when people realize how awesome it really is because you made it awesome. That simple people.
Let's get awesome.
Kind Regards, The DataSea

New exchanges are certainly on the roadmap, but testing this chain for robustness prior to being in a position where we would lose said exchange due to inadequate testing is the wisest path. Thus, we are holding off on large exchange inquires at this time. And indeed -- we are on coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/datacoin/That all being said -- if you wish to assist in Datacoin development in any way, let us know how you can be of assistance -- or simply make it happen Kind Regards, The DataSea

Sadly neither generate <nblocks> <ntries> nor generatetoaddress <nblocks> <address> <ntries> seem to do much more than generate reams of error messages. But at least there are error messages, unlike the sullen silence of setgenerate Cheers Graham

Just more account farming: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1053852;sa=showPosts(It's almost as though the mods are unaware that account farming is causing the gradual abandonment of bitcointalk.) Cheers Graham

If you have a testnet node, please let me know what it is, I'll add it to my testnets.
Unfortunately, I'm out of the game until I upgrade my server. It's Ubuntu 15.10 and doesn't want to play nicely: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libczmq-dev : Depends: libzmq5-dev but it is not installable
And the build instructions are now incorrect in that --disable-zmq (disable ZMQ notifications) is not a permissible option with the new codebase... In file included from madpool/pool.cpp:14:0: madpool/pool.h:18:18: fatal error: czmq.h: No such file or directory #include <czmq.h>
Sorry 'bout that. Cheers Graham

Maybe trying to simplify the software and excluding that part, as I humbly advised long ago, is still better? Core Wallet does not need bundled mining software :-) And there is no reason to not make separate version with solo mining enabled for those who want it. BTW, what code branch should I look into to base new generation pool on it?

Just use "master" ( https://github.com/datacoinproject/datacoin-core), there's no specific branch (because the Yandex tar dumps were copies not clones, so no upstream commit history), so feel free to organise it any way that suits you. Please note, I lost track of the Yandex dumps during the flurry of Windows-specific changes and don't know how that actually played out, i.e. whether there are any critical changes that should now be included. Cheers Graham

Hi Team, Successful 5.3 MB etching on Datacoin mainnet! Etched the source code of Verionum's latest build 0.15.99.08! On Apertus use the following transaction Root ID to get the full etch, link is here: a41e8f313a56d79393639eae87a10e74cd2c1959e5f624a39d3318d98b0340ba Go to bitFossil here for the full etch via our web blockchain scraper: http://bitfossil.org/a41e8f313a56d79393639eae87a10e74cd2c1959e5f624a39d3318d98b0340ba/index.htmVerionum Datacoin source code version 0.15.99.08, May 03, 2018, 03:52:40 PM "Good Day! I glad to present the new DTC client with embedded pool for GPU mining. This version of DTC client implements all planned features at this moment. This version synchronizes very fast, includes most of the bitcoin 0.15.99 client features. But segregated witness was temporarily disabled because of incompatibility with old dtc clients. The next improvements cannot be done until dtc network moves from old clients to new client." Bitfossil is scrapping data from Datacoin blockchain or is it entering directly with a full node acting as a gate?

Hi muf18, Excellent question. bitFossil is an archive of real-time Apertus monitoring of Apertus style etchings on compatible blockchains. When those Aperti find an etching, it syncs with bitFossil to update. So, in a sense, bitFossil is both the present, and the past.

What's the plan with Datacoin then? How/why is it being resurrected so to speak? when there was kucoin voting also, you hadn't gone so much votes.
