ICON (ICX) is best long term investment I know of right now.   Its the ETH / NEO of Korea.

 They have their own block chain and its a HUGE established company connected well throughout Korean business and government.  Its a similar platform to Ethereum and NEO and will host ICOs and smart contract systems. 

Best long term hold in the space right now without a doubt.

what do you think, which tokens are a great investment for 5-10 years?

All people tend to speculate on short-term moves but I am more interested in tokens that will go up x times over the next couple of years...

so to say, the Amazons and Googles of the crypto world.

Which coins are REALLY GROUNDBREAKING in your eyes and why?

I mean Bitcoin started the whole thing but technically there are so much better, safer, faster, more anonymous coins that should take over in the long run.

For me! I think many coin can to buy and hold: BTC, ETH, Zcash and XMR LTC, DASH

I think investing in alt coin takes a long time. because the price when go to market first time will be very destroyed, plus dump from bounty hunter which become a problem. it would be nice to use the "just hold" formula of warren buffett for the coin that you think is good

Investing bitcoin and ethereum are most preferable for long term investment as it is already known by most. Aside from that, they havev already put a mark in the blockchain market because of its outstanding price performance.

Honestly other than Bitcoin, any other cryptocurrency in my eyes is a no good investment for that length of time. I say this because the industry is constantly evolving, the growth is rapid, and you just never know what is

next. Because things are everchanging in crypto space you can never feel comfortable as a coin or company and for that reason I think Bitcoin is the only long term hodl out of the 1000+ coins out there.

Great investment from 5-10 years with alt coins? I can only see a few ones but still the market of alt coin is still unpredictable. Those coins that are on the top can be replaced by the new aspiring ones and those underrated and undervalued coins will be the ones that can be good for long term investment. But in my opinion, eth is a good one for long term investment and also monero since bitcoin is given.

I think, 5-10 years is very long term of investment. You can go for that long form of investment but still need to check your investment from time to time. Trading is not that stable to stay your investment that long.

But for me, a good coin are ETH and WAVES. That's it for now.

if we are backtracking the history of the top crytpocurrencies 5 years ago, aside from bitcoin as the king of all cryptos, these are my top 3 candidates for for long term investment it is based on their performance, business alliance, adaptibilty and development :

1. Ethereum - the mother of all smart contracts and the ERC20 ICOs haven. Their Enterprise Ethereum Alliance attracts more business partnership

2. Ripple - may would hate him as it has very little price movement and a not so traders friendly but it is backed by the banking and finance industry

3. Litecoin - the bitcoin little brother also known as the silver bitcoin. There are a lot more development for this coin  Mr. Charlie Lee the litecoin creator is visionary and i believe his vision about blockchain but Mr. Buterik was more genius.

the other prospect for long term were LISK, RISE, OMG and other Korean and Japanese Friendly coins.

If you are looking for Amazons and Googles of the crypto world, you should stick with the big two: Bitcoin and Ethereum

Both of these coins have a solid track record and seem to have huge potential upside in the coming years. Just do some google searches and you should find that many speculate bitcoin will reach $50,000 while Ethereum will reach $2,000 in the near future. Of course, do your own research and only invest what you can afford to lose. Good luck!

In my opinion, only a few coins only, which can be predicted will rise many times the price. such as its predecessor, Bitcoin and ETH. so if predicting the coin to be successful 5-10 years ahead is very difficult. but I think the coin used for gambling and credit cards, is a coin that can survive for the future. This is the coin that will replace for the coin that had previously been successful in the future.

I think the best choice is bitcoin and ethereum. Since it's for a long term, not to mention 5-10 years.
A major coins is great choice. But aside from that, I think that OmiSego, IOTA, and ripple also a good choice.
I'm not a really long term person, more like day trader. Maybe you should consider Investing in ICOs.

Never been into the short term game. In terms of groundbreaking ICO's, the most recent one I found was UnikoinGold by Unikrn. I heard about them a couple of months ago because they made headlines because Mark Cuban, Ashton Kutcher, and even Anthony Di Lorio (co-founder of Ethereum) funded them.

Unikrn itself is an esports betting platform that already exists and they introduced UnikoinGold last month. They funded 10 million and their ICO is going to end October 20-23...one of those days. Their token runs on ethereum and it's just badass, especially if you're a gamer like me. In some countries, they even do fiat betting and it's all legal. Crazy. I'm excited to see where this ICO is headed because I poured thousands into it. It's going to be hard to find another Bitcoin or Ethereum, but this one's built on Ethereum, so that sounds good to me.

UnikoinGold is the perfect token to hold onto for a while as their platform develops more and more.

When I invest for an altcoins I have for long term investment. I have btc, eth and I added stratis in my wallet also waves. These coins are my choice for a long term which I believe this has a potential coin. I know I can earn profit for hodling and long term investment. Actually there are many potential coins to chose and worth investing.

Neo has become one of my favourite coin to hold. One of the reason is that it has a better system as compare to others. Like the smart contracts, it enables a lot of programming languages as compare to ethereum which only enables the default program. Neo plans to evolve into a ecosystem where it has neox neogas neofx etc. And one of the best thing i love about neo is that it generate gas automatically, without the need to on the wallet all the time.
