Why would a user use Gameflip marketplace that is purely focussed on games, instead of using a marketplace that would sell everything?
Thank you for question. There are lots of platforms where people can buy different goods but unfortunately there are no such marketplace for gamers. Gaming industry is growing very fast and there is huge demand for it. The Gameflip marketplace platform has been transacting gaming digital goods since the beginning of 2016 with millions of dollars processed across 2 million gamers. We fully understand the risks associated with managing digital goods transactions and the strategy to scale the marketplace rapidly. Our plan is to enhance our platform to provide the highest levels of transparency and security by implementing blockchain and smart contracts. thnx for the reply. I understand gaming is a big industry, but I still dont see the need to have a marketplace specifically for gaming. Why not buy your games/hardware on a marketplace where you can also buy a book or dvd on the same order? Sometimes is better to have marketplace just for a specific type of items since people tend to trust it more. You wont go on ebay and buy medicines there just because they sell it. You will buy it in online pharmacy which can also sell dodgy stuff but it feels more trustworthy. It will be a haven for gamers. Buying and selling digital gamers stuffs will be a lot easier with the help of blockchain technology through the gameflip platform.

I also think that the amount raised during the pre sale is good, 1600 eth is a good amount for a pre sale, and the ico can be better than the pre sale. Gameflip has a great potential, in game goods trade is a huge business with the explosion off gamers and in app purchase, just see the steam marketplace.

It is a better decision if you focus your marketplace on game items instead of making a marketplace like for example ebay or what ever, where you can trade everything. Through this you maybe have less potential customers but you also don't have to scale too high, your customers build a bound with your platform and they know that you and your team is working for this one purpose. Can you tell me what items are currently get sold on your current marketplace? Like just stuff for mmorpgs? Or also some other online games? I also think, selling game keys or stuff is not legit, am I right? To learn more about the market place and available items, head over to the gameflip forum =) https://forum.gameflip.com/Thanks, I will take a look into the market place I also think that the amount raised during the pre sale is good, 1600 eth is a good amount for a pre sale, and the ico can be better than the pre sale. And the pre sale is still open until the 20th, so there will come in some more ETH probably.

I had a look at the website and saw you can buy in-game items, for example gold for world of warcraft. I didnt know this was a legal thing to do, but I can see it works out great because a lot if items are labeled as sold. Now I need to figure out how blockchain is involved, if anyone already knows?
they are using smart contracts to make the swap between items and "cash" automated, so that nobody get cheated for going first, and not getting paid money or not getting the item. Quite a nice use case i must say. Yes, in such markets it is important, there nobody trusts each other, because many things are prohibited to trade in online games for example. Earlier, as I recall, the deposit of funds was used, and when the buyer confirmed receipt of the goods, the money was transferred to the seller. So the buyer was protected. But the seller worked only on trust, as the buyer could not confirm receipt. And with the use of Gameflip I believe this difficulty will be bypassed. Absolutely! Fraud is one of the issues we are aiming to address in our project!

There are lot of advantages:
- Gameflip Marketplace Platform - The Gameflip marketplace platform has been transacting gaming digital goods since the beginning of 2016 with millions of dollars processed across 2 million gamers. We fully understand the risks associated with managing digital goods transactions and the strategy to scale the marketplace rapidly. Our plan is to enhance our platform to provide the highest levels of transparency and security by implementing blockchain and smart contracts.
- Experience - Collectively, our Gameflip team has over a century of starting, operating and scaling start-up companies. This is our passion! On top of that, we have a world class team of advisors, including the co-founder of Electronic Arts, the co-founder of GREE and the founder of Bigpoint, all of which are the top global gaming companies across the globe.
Those advantages are really great about this project! Look at that Marketplace, an userbase of 2M gamers! There is a huge market for selling in-game things. This is getting more and more populair. This project is lead by a very professional team who has a lot of experience. You guys are doing great! Keep this up! Thank you! And we won't disappoint for sure!

I see that you are going to implement ETH as a payment method in Q1, that's cool! I definitely would buy gift cards with cryptocurrencies.
But what i find confusing is that in your roadmap it says that bitcoin payments are live today, and yet found talks like this in the comments:
- Can I pay with bitcoin? - No - Ok
So it's up to seller or how does this work?
For now, only ETH is accepted. I meant the gameflip.com marketplace, not the ico: As far as I know you can contribute in Gameflip ICO only with Ethreum. Currently there isn't an option for paying BTC It's true for the ICO, however on the current Gameflip platform you can already pay with bitcoin and fiat. This will alter be expanded to include a lot more crypto's and of course the FLP token.

Why not buy your games/hardware on a marketplace where you can also buy a book or dvd on the same order? Actually i don't think you know how big is gaming market. I want to quote from their whitepaper. According to Newzoo's latest study, 2.2 billion gamers will generate $108.9 billion in game revenues in 2017. This represents an increase of $7.8 billion, or 7.8%, from the year before. The growth will continue, with 2020 revenues projected at $128.5 billion. There is a huge market but there is not a really good Marketplace for trading digital items. There is a big gap in a huge market. I can't even think about how big can gameflip be. They have a amazing vision, i can say.

it would be interesting to see how Gameflip compares to steam in terms of trading virtual items. Steam generates a lot of these items, so I wonder how items will find their way onto Gameflip? Usually it works this way: You trade the item you want to sell from your steam account to an bot account of GameFlip. Now this item gets listed in the marketplace. As soon as someone buys it, the bot sends the buyer a trade offer and trades the item to the buyer. You receive your money.

Bitcoin Garden: Gameflip Announces Upcoming Sale of Crypto-Token (FLIP) for Gaming Digital Goods https://bitcoingarden.org/gameflip-announces-upcoming-sale-crypto-token-flip-gaming-digital-goods/Gameflip announced the upcoming sale of FLIP, a crypto-token for peer-to-peer buying and selling of digital goods, for games on all platforms, including mobile, PC, console, and VR/AR. The pre-sale will run from October 13, 2017 to October 20, 2017, and the main sale from November 1st, 2017 to November 29th, 2017.
Globally, gamers purchase over US$100 billion of digital goods each year. Most of these digital goods are locked within individual games, and gamers lose all of their value when they stop playing that game. The current infrastructure does not promote the liquidity, transparency and security required by gamers to buy, sell and trade digital goods...

You are right and we are moving to bridge blockchain with gaming industry. Indeed! This is a very important bridge Blockchain and the gaming industry are made for eachother. There are a lot of competitors out there who are trying to do the same but the advantage of Gameflip is that they already have a huge gamer userbase. Cant wait to see this on the blockchain. You guys are doing great!
