Most people feel safer with them. Their concerns are rather valid. The only way to defend yourself against a criminal with a gun, is with a gun yourself. What I'll never understand is why ordinary citizens are allowed to have assault weapons though. Those are used for war, and is just overkill for self defense.

You must have been living in another world to have said we are living in the most peaceful time in human history. With people not even feeling safe in their homes and on the streets. The subject of discussion as to whether to have access to guns is only applicable to the advanced countries unlike other countries where is not even an option.

For protection off course, in the for example, getting access to a gun is like buying pizza, its so easy so if the criminals are able to get access to guns, its good for the law abiding citizens to get guns to protect themselves from them and it's a very genuine reason to have a gun.

Guns are very useful at times, only to protect ourselves from someone who wants us to be killed. But before you use these guns, be sure that you have license to carry the specific gun you have. Don't use this gun as an advantage, but use this as a protection.

Yes, it might appear that our world right now is peaceful and I still do believe it. But we still need guns for protection, however I strongly believe that it should not be given to individuals freely. The power to hold or even the authority to own a gun is not just like buying a piece of fruit in a supermarket. It is able to take and save a life at the same time and people can do things unspeakable if this is left unchecked and not properly given to regulations and stricter laws.

For me, I don't think so that we really need a gun. You will need a gun if you know to yourself that someone will attack you, but if you know to yourself that you did not do anything wrong, then why do you need to have or to bring a gun. in my country the use of guns for civilians like me is forbidden, the use of guns is only for the police and army only, it is their duty to safeguard the security of the country and its people.
in my country civilians do not yet need to use gun as a means of self protection because government and state apparatus like police and army guarantee security for its people.

on that question i am gonna say that so many countries people have no right to use Guns and they are absolutely safe and protected by govt protection. we don't need guns, we need consciousness and awareness. even we need to respect each other as much as we can.. negligence is part of using guns ...
