corruption is the main cause of poverty. we elected disqualify people and give government into hand of them then they do corruption and not give to people their basic rights. So thats why people become poor and few bodies become rich.

I agree with corruption but people are no less in supporting such an unacceptable act by electing such politicians. So, it's like the act we do is what we suffer!

I think that the common cause of poverty is corruption and laziness. Politicians nowadays give importance to their own agendas and propagandas rather than focusing on poverty solutions while people who are experiencing poverty depend their needs from the government and it is ironic. Hardwork I think is one of the key to solve it.

The common cause of poverty is due to many reasons which when examine can lead to a conclusive point. The firstly, i will like to look at is the Economy of the country, this has a great role to play when it come to how it affects the ordinary men on the street. If the wages of an ordinary man is a starvation wage, where by the man and his family can barely  feed twice a day,that is cause by the economy. Secondly, Laziness on the part of the individual is another important factor that can cause poverty, when an individual is suppose to go and work, but is found sleeping and not engaging himself in meaningful venture ,that can also cause poverty.Thirdly, lack of employment for most of our graduates ,can cause poverty as well.

A corrupt government would top the list! If only these governments would properly and honestly allocate the funds/budget intended for each department, then I believe this will greatly improve a country's economic status. In education for example, if funds were maximized then our school facilities would be more conducive for learning. Poor education also leads to the growth of poverty. Sad and frustrating! Some of the major causes of poverty are: government, dependency, and the lack of or the lack of realizing opportunities.

  Some of he wealthiest nations on earth are dirt poor.  Through automation of the lack of trade they cannot meaningfully sell their surpluses, or create new jobs.  In many cases foreign food aid harms some of the most basic local jobs which are the farming jobs.  that is the developed nations are dumping surplus goods onto poor nations to cripple their economy and their ambitions.  

  if you look at basic raw materials, many of them are cheap whether it is food or say iron ore.  Many large companies will move to poorer countries and train people to make goods.  It may be a step above say farming, particularly for city folks, but the individuals themselves are not selling what they produce-but are only providing their labor at fair market rates.  There may be secondary businesses that forms such as restaurants, etc, but the economy will remain poor until the laws of supply and demand increase wages.  In many cases they will be paid in a currency that makes savings and new ventures near impossible, especially if their are no access to affordable exchanges.  But out of their poverty with minimal dependency they will tend to be more resourceful.

  And then there are the post industrial nations like the united states.  Manufacturing, or collecting resources are scarce.  It is service based heavily into marketing and research that exists mostly on cycling its own currency that draws artificial value from the demand forced upon it from taxes or trade agreements.  From existing wealth it and policies, it is the land of opportunities...for now.  Opportunities keep birthing new opportunities to some extent.  In a savings based economy, it has a trickle down effect.  In a Keynesian based economy that demands rapid cycling of currency, then again the poor can't really afford to save and new ventures difficult to start up so the poor tend to remain poor.

  Americans are truly dependent on companies and the government for survival, and ultimately it is the companies that create opportunities that the government steals and creates further dependency.  The working class has fewer kids, and the moochers have more kids.  And these economies will collapse as a function of time as they violate the laws of nature and adopt socialism, and people will have to revert back to a survival state when the bubble burst.  If something were to happen to the US dollar or robots simply displaced most US workers, Americans, aside from farmers and hunters/fishers, virtually have no survival skills.  Most would not many have any technical or inventive skills, except for those already in STEM or a particular trade.  America will likely crumble apart one day far worse than Venezuela, and those who do know STEM or a trade, will likely leave America long before then. There will be few meaningful opportunities left in the USA, and the population will be full of lazy snowflakes whose only skills after college graduation is yelling racism, misogyny, and various phobias.

I think one of the causes  of poverty is bad character and bad morals.
Bad character that breeds poverty is especially rooted in laziness, misuse of money and resources, squandering instead of saving and investing, misuse and loss of opportunities, greed by a proud and dominating few, selfishness, and a spirit of sabotage that undermines anyone trying to develop and make wealth.

The problem of poverty has long been there since ancient times. In the past, people generally became poor not because of lack of food, but poor in the form of lack of convenience or material. From the measure of modern life in the present they do not enjoy health education facilities, and other conveniences available in modern times.
The Indonesian government oriented to develop Indonesia as a developed and economically well-established country assumes poverty is an absolute issue that must be resolved in addition to other problems of income income, government structure, inflation, budget deficit and others.
