The problem of poverty has long been there since ancient times. In the past, people generally became poor not because of lack of food, but poor in the form of lack of convenience or material. From the measure of modern life in the present they do not enjoy health education facilities, and other conveniences available in modern times.
The Indonesian government oriented to develop Indonesia as a developed and economically well-established country assumes poverty is an absolute issue that must be resolved in addition to other problems of income income, government structure, inflation, budget deficit and others.

In the ancient times, the warriors were the rich one's whiles the weak and feeble were poor because they were always working for the poor, Now we are in the age of knowledge where education is the key. So without education, people will not even get a decent job to begin with and they suffer in poverty.

One of the main reason of poverty first government why? because majority of some politicians are greedy in power and money, they are using the funds of the people meaning corrupting all the funds that the government getting.

then there are some people who are easy go lucky they are looking for an easy job which there's no such like that.

Some people like this when they are getting tired in their job they will just give up there's no hardwork.

If a lot of lazy people get dependent on the welfare handouts, then the government must be blamed first. It is the government which created such a system in the first place. Nowadays, some of the politicians will stoop to any low, in order to get a few votes. They will shower freebies to the slum dwellers, and in return these people will sell their votes for such politicians.

Because rich is becoming more rich and poor is becoming more and more poor by time. No rights for common person and power is in hands of rich politicians.

To a great extent because of the earth they are set in. A few nations are degenerate bizarre and have next to zero resources. The mix of the two, or more poor instruction/lacking sustenance for improvement makes an awful and progressing cycle that is about difficult to break.

and that list goes on because there are many social, environmental factors, even corruption and many more things that can cause poverty.

On my opinion, I would say that the common cause of poverty is without family planning in the society. Each and everyone of us has an obligation to our children but people nowadays didn't do it. They said that its gods well what they have but I believed that as long as our doings has a plan God will provide everything. So, much better everyone of us should aware on what our doings since having an responsibility should be comply all the time.

As for me poverty exists because of the lack of opportunities. There are many people who would like to get a good Bachelor's Degree but then just couldn't because they do not have the means to pursue it and even the government cannot offer a scholarship for many people. In the end citizens just look for any job that does not require a college diploma even though that does not fit their talents and skills, neither they have passion for it. However, there are some degree holders that are still unemployed because the country cannot offer enough professional demands for them. I believe every person is a dreamer, sometimes they just fail to pursue it because the lack of opportunities are very discouraging. The government should invest more on people than any other things.

The only reason that I can think of why some countries are poor is because of laziness. Lazy because they don't want to sacrifice, they just want to receive alms from the government.

I think that laziness is the main problem of human poverty. There are many examples where people even from the poorest countries were able to achieve great heights thanks to hard work.

If you can only see the day laborer here in our country, they almost kill them selves to work just to earn enough money for their family, but its still not enough because of low salary given to them. After a day of work they will still do some side line at night just to earn some extra cash to save for the future. So I dont think that laziness is one of the reason why they are poor.

for me its how you think how things work in this world because this will determine your decision making on how are you gonna live..
example you are in a pinch and you need money to survive will their are two options running in your mind
before this options pop into your mind i depends on what you see, feel, and understand.. if you are exposed in an hostile environment there is a high chance that you'll do the same to gain what your mind desires this is the root of poverty its the capacity of your self to understand things now and far on what and when you'll become its our determination to do things whether you'll give up and face poverty or take the hard road endure the challenges and succeed in life..

Do not necessarily do a lot of useless physical work. Sometimes it's good enough to think and find the best ways to earn money.

factors causing poverty is triggered by several things, such as an imbalance between population and job vacancy availability, lack of human resources, corruption, lack of action for develop the country.

many people say the cause of poverty is "education", but that's not true. The reason for poverty is because of money (duh!), there is not enough money distributed to the overall population, which means a lot of people can't afford the most basic things. Even if you're the smartest person in the world, you can't just create food/water/living space out of thin hair - it has nothing to do with education or intelligence, it's simply a lack of money in these developing countries that causes this thing. One day we'll look back and say e.g. "The Year 2028 When Poverty Was No More". I'm really looking forward to this article, when virtually most people will be out of poverty. This will happen when we set up a minimum basic income for each and everyone on earth, it will happen eventually (due to automation), the question is, when.

Though it's not applicable in every country, I guess the most common cause of poverty is laziness, people in my country always wants an easy life, don't wanna strive and work hard to achieve what they want, but loves to laze around day and night then blames the government for being poor.

Being illiterate for me is the most common cause of poverty, i know there are successful people that do not finish their studies but most of them comeback to school when they already have the money to do so because they know that knowledge is the key for being successful.

lack of education, work related, place development etc. These are the common factors on my own opinion and knowledge because if you are not educated well you can not have a good work and because of that you can not develop your place

Lack of job is one of the major cause of poverty and the poor economy, the government cannot supply the needs of their society.
