Another major factor why there is poverty is greed. There are people who are drunk and addicted to power who wants to gain more wealth and they would do it no matter what, even if it means stepping on other people. Because of this, power and wealth is only concentrated a few people and opportunities for the masses are not equally distributed.

I think the common cause of poverty was that most people are lazy, They want to have a lot of money but they don't want to work it hard but like to become an instant millionaire. And majority of the people in the whole world are just dreaming but not a bold dreamer in treality which they need to be like that.

There's a lot of factors affecting poverty such as; poor education system, corruption, lack of employment, lack of opportunity, improper usage of resources, lack of technology. I really think that the biggest factor is education. Education can save a nation because through it people will have knowledge on how to deal with poverty. They can make ways to solve it and people cannot take advantage of them if they are educated.

Based on my little economics background poverty breeds poverty. If you are born poor chances are that you will die poor and your children too will live a poor life. It all stems from the distribution of wealth though. The wealthy hold onto the large chunk of resources while the poor keep suffering. As long as there are no means for equitable distribution of resources then poverty will never end.

I think that laziness is the main problem of human poverty. There are many examples where people even from the poorest countries were able to achieve great heights thanks to hard work.

Here in our country there is this saying that:
"It is not a sin that you have been born poor. But it is a sin if you will die poor"
I think the common cause of poverty is the lack of individual motivation and drive. Watching documentaries made in our country made me think. Actually there are a lot of ways to earn money, if only you are willing to do it. As long as it is legal. Never settle to slumber in poverty.

For me there are different reasons of poverty.One reason would be overpopulation.If people are too many and the government cannot sustain to feed and to employ people then they end up nothing.Another is skill and education if you are educated and have the skill then you can be hired for work and can look for a decent job,but if you do not have the skill and then uneducated,then who will hire you thus ending up nothing.And also the government with nothing to give to its people does not have enough and good solution to poverty.

I reaoly think that the main cause of poverty the lack or poor education system. Education is very important because if people are well educated, other countries or even politicians cannot take advantage of them and they can fight for their rights and find better opportunities.

Poverty is in minds. First you think poor, then you act poor, finally you live poor. Change the way you think and you will change your life. But sometimes I think not every one can do this. An Indian varna system doesn't seem any illogical or discriminative to me now.

Most of the time, the reason why people wallow in poverty is because they don't have the opportunity to even get a job, people will say lack of education is one of the causes of poverty but I don't think so because i know many people who have been able to become rich beyond measure. And it seems to me - some people are lazy...many of them choose theft, rather than go for some hard work

lack of work, lack of money to start a business! in a country that more of the people are poor wiill give more power to rich and oligarch remember that in those country once you are ppoor you will earn a littlee and most rich will geet double their money for abusing those poor people i hope the government has the law that poor human will have a loan for their own business with 0% interest and payable in 10-20 years !

I think the main cause is corruption in the government. In my country it is as common as breathing air, however, the people can't really do anything about it and surprisingly some of them don't even seem to care. With this kind of set up, the rich stays rich, the poor stays poor. With corruption, follows bad economy which results to high unemployment rate.

Many countries do not have natural resources, so they are poor, for example, some countries in Africa, do not deliver anything to the world market except bananas, besides there is no regulation of births, families have many children, who then have nothing to feed and they are starving.

There are no correct and laconic answers to that question. Every country may have its historic and cultural reasons to be poor. Every person does it too.
