The problem ( IMHO ) is that most of companies, started and starting ICO - for service. It's not real economy. Check the list - payments, transferring, converting, ico starting, new mining methods.... new banking methods etc... etc... At the beginning it was new... and interesting. But the idea should be to change traditional crowdfunding. But if you developing new type of spaceship - where is blockchain ? Financial services very limited. And in fact not so many people need it. That's why currently ICO market ( real market ) also became very limited. In profit and in good projects. But should be second wave i think... =)))

As of right now, the crypto scene is being flooded with ICO's. Are some of these coin offerings scams? Sure, and because of those that are, a bad lighting is put on all ICO's as a whole. An ICO is nothing more but a decentralized IPO, who's foundation is formed on the basis of tokens. Now there are some very legitimate coin offerings, but because of this market being hugely unregulated, the crypto scene has become like he gold rush of the U.S wild west. I think ICO's won't be going any where any time soon, at least not until more advice, and regulations are passed.

The number of successful ICO's are decreasing dramatically. Just wanna know about successful ICO's in the fourth quarter of 2017 and if anybody still believes in ICO's.
I am a person who has always believed in the ICO, although it is now becoming a job for scammers. They are trying to make ICOs fool around for everyone, but for real projects, it's still a good place to be successful.

It's easy to reduce the number of ICO's to check out. Check out only ICO's that have working software. It shows that they know how to write code and they invested a lot more into the ICO's than others.

I dont like too much to invest into ICO i had around 4-5 bad investments wich had made me lost fees and loose some satoshis into them, i do like to trade into the marketplace, even with some coins with big potencial as tezos, i dont risk anymore, but i know thats still being possible to make and earn money with ICO, just need a good project and marketing.

There are some ICOs which are pure scams but those that aren't, as long as the team continue to work on their product even if the price goes down i won't consider it as a scam.

IMO, it's better to wait for the coins to be available on exchanges and buy on dip. So many ICOs tanked down few days after getting on exchanges.

Yes. The reality is they are just a few and those other are often imitations and scams. And also, there are still many ideas that are not still offered in some platform so there are still a lot of projects that are upcoming. We just need be keen in every details so we won't end up in a bad investment.

Yes ofcourse, I still believe in ICO just like domraider it was so successful ICO because all tokens has been sold. We understand that not all ICO's are legit, there are also scam which is not seriousing their project.
you are right sir .. I also still believe with ico we are working as a bounty hunter among his risk is exposed to a scam or even not paid even the coin is very low in price and can not be sold but not all thus the number of scam sites and which was a success plus the amazing wow payments were almost 7 out of 10 do that

Just like the crapcoin wave of 2013, ICO mania of 2017 has come to an end. There are too many real, working projects out there to invest in - who in their right mind would invest in a whitepaper and a promise at this point?

There are still good ico. I feel it has to have a very specific focus and market to achieve. Hype will usually only lead to pump and dump. Thinking like enjin, where it is connected to an industry that already has revenue income source. it is just replacing the old system. I can see it spreading to in-app purchases on mobile devices and then bam. I think ones like this could have good potential. Not necessarily advising investing in anything, do at your own risk just my 2 cents.

yeah,ICO is a great production in the blockchain times. every one or every company can get the needed fund from ICO. in future the people who joined the ICO may get the stock_share from the project team. ICO is a very good creation that can change the world in future. may be more important than btc itself.

I have lost faith in ICO's of late, with China banning them and the rest of the world looking to follow suit, its a dangerous game investing in them

Do you know why? Because a lot of people are very shallow and lazy. They are joining whatever they think are legit without reading a single page of the project's whitepaper. They listen easily to referrals and recommendations but do not check the website nor the roadmap of the project. And when the price is still below ICO after more or less 5 months, they would suddenly declare them as scams and crap. What they do not know is that the real deal of the project as indicated in the roadmap is still at least 7 months later. These lazy ass boils my blood!
