More realistic to beat  FlorinCoin (0,008USD per coin) in the long run 1 cent per coin could be realistic.

Cryptsy over reacted and suspended the IFC trade page (but not trading) resulting in many people not being able to trade while bots devoured previously set buy walls. They assumed because coinchoose was using an outdated version of the IFC client that IFC was forked. IFC is NOT FORKED. You can check what version you are using by checking the length of the blockchain. The longest one is the VALID blockchain. The other network is a result of people and services not updating clients, and bug in the previous patch. THE NETWORK IS STILL FULLY OPERATIONAL.

Is http://exploretheblocks.com:2750/chain/Infinitecoin/q/getblockcount still the right chain?  That is the block explorer I was using (which appears down).

so is it currently safe to mine or is it still messed up and id just waste my time with corrupted chains.

EDIT:

On  the sidenote... i guess its poitnless  to actuall ystart minign this now?

I just read and found out that the coin threw out MILLIONS in the beginning - now being down to mere thousands. I dotn see how this can be profitable if  large number of people hold tens millions of it( while i would have to spend  a years to get even close to that) - they control the market.

This is the way to fix it. the post sit in this topic. very hard to find in forum. and the correct way to fix below not posted until page 6. the OP has not updated 1st post to clear the confusion either.

http://infinitecointalk.org/index.php/topic,315.75.html

if you use windows
1-download this :https://mega.co.nz/#!wERQESKT!VjDLhD51Tscp0YGUuLLGHXCu29dtxDuaabk0F7csQgI

2-go to c:\user\yourname\appdata\Roaming\infinitecoin

3-copy wallet.dat in a safe folder (make one or two copy it's your backup be sure to make this or you loose all your coins)

4-remove all file in c:\user\yourname\appdata\Roaming\infinitecoin

5-unzip the downloaded file , and copy all file from the unziped folder to c:\user\yourname\appdata\Roaming\infinitecoin

6-copy your wallet.dat to c:\user\yourname\appdata\Roaming\infinitecoin

7-you can start the QT now it will take some minute to get the lastest block and you will be sync
