If the altcoin is already on coinmarketcap website, it has a tab called 'markets' which details the exchanges where you can trade the coin.

However, in most cases, particularly for the smaller exchanges you'll need to get bitcoin or ethereum first to trade for the altcoin.

For these smaller exchanges, you generally can't give your regular currency (us dollars, euro or whatever) to buy altcoins. You first need to buy ethereum/bitcoin from a larger exchange.

The best place to buy bitcoin or ethereum directly with regular currency could depend on where you live. For example, bittrex is used by a lot of people who live in the US.

Hope that helps. But in short, you generally need to get ethereum or bitcoin before you can get less well known altcoins.

First of all choose your altcoins. You can reach all details on coinmarketcap. And define that, which market's price is better for your altcoins. And care about market volume, it is very important for a safe trade.

Friend, if you want to buy altcoins, I suggest you to use poloniex altcoin exchange. Its a wonderful platform. I always use poloniex to buy altcoins and till date I haven't faced any problem with this platform. Or if you didn't like it, I suggest you to check the service discussion section of this forum. There you will be able to find many so many altcoin exchanges. Choose the exchange where op is active always in this forum.

You can receive new altcoins for participating in Wings.ai project. But yes first you need to buy Wings coins.
But after that you can receive many new coins just for voting! Amazing!

I can feel you.

Just invest very little into any of the platforms where you can buy either bitcoin then trade/buy which ever coin you believe in. As simple as that.

Some places would be Coinbase, Bittrex, etc.

happy trading.

There are two ways how to get the altcoins. If you want to trade with it you will get altcoins on exchanges of cryptocurrencies.
If you have no intentions to play with prices then use exchange services. There you will get some altcoins by paying your real money.

As for me Bittrex the best way to buy altcoin, but it is for me because I know what I want.

And what about you? do you know what altcoin you want? Have you your own strategy of investment and what expectations  you have from your investments?

I think you have to have answer for these two main question. They will help you to make the right decision.

For me Best way is Bittrex, you can also use Poloniex and Cryptopia which new altcoins are listed, my other choices are Yobit, Livecoin and coinexchange.io by the way you can find more than 100 options to buy altcoins which are listed by volume on coinmarketcap, also you can find active markets on coinmarketcap.com on the tab of markets for each altcoin. Another tip is to use limit based orders to avoid more fees. good luck.

Really like the look of $Rise at the current price for a longer term hold. Small market cap, large upside and reasonable supply.

EtherDelta is the simplest exchange, for beginners it is quite suitable. After that you can try Bittrex and YouBit.

Before buying anything you should learn as much as possible about that coin. I would recommend you to invest your money in ICO. But be very careful with your choice. Still there're a lot of information about upcoming ICOs on this forum, so just read, investigate and go invest. Good ICO can give you x2-x3 or even more if you get lucky.

For what it's worth, I use Bittrex.com.

There are also www.coinexchange.io, www.binance.com.

Binance is better than Bittrex for certain coins such as NEO because they actually distribute GAS if you hold NEO on their wallet. Bittrex doesn't.

to start in most cases you will need to convert you money to bitcoin or eth most cases bitcoin. where u will have to link either a bank or credit card. I myself use coinbase or gdax just because they seem the most stable .  Then, you can buy on those platforms things like bitcoin in most cases coin base and gdax don't have some less popular alts. you can always send btc to any alt site like bittrex , cryptopia ect there many of these sites. Lastly i wouldn't recommend storing your coins on these exchanges use something like myetherwallet unless the alt coin has a devolved wallet or use the ledger but, that starts at 60-100 Usd so idk how much you starting with.

buying altcoin certainly uses some capital. if you are interested, lots of altcoins are now emerging and have good progress prospects for the future. like HDAC, HDAC is the next-generation digital service platform based on trust, with advanced technology that combines blockchain and IoT, enabling machine-to-machine ultra-low cost transactions between IOT devices that are authenticated, mapped and verified through blockchain .
