Bitcoin and ethereum are not the only coins in the market. When people bought them, they didn't know it'll grow like this. Similarly, try to research that which will be the next big coin. Maybe for short term, to make some good returns and grow your wealth.
Welcome to the party by the way..

I had my doubts about bitcoin when it collapsed to 200$ last year but I could never believe it will reach the 5k$ limit.

It's never too late my friend, there are hundreds of coins in the market that can surge to the moon at any time !

The party is far from ending.

Definitely you are not late to the party  Cheesy

Actually this is the best time to buy now because it is becoming more popular in alot of countries so if you invest in Ethereum or bitcoin right now, it might double or triple your profits in the upcoming years.

Dude, don't worry! You are definitely not late for the party, but as you already seen some dishes have been eaten already...(btc,eth)
Yeah you have to pay 500$ for the same coin, and what is more that coin won't grow 500times like from 1 to 500. So don't expect too much in short term.So if you want join btc and eth party you should definitely back in time, otherwise you could join new party. There is tons of promising alts(like new party), for example my Solaris(i support that coin).
To sum up we should tick that you can still become rich here, good luck!

I feel so late to the party. Coins now are very expensive, like $5800 for Bitcoin and $345 for Ethereum... then $5 - $30 for other coins. I take a look at the blockchain explorers and see big holders of coins, for example some people have 1000+ bitcoin, a lot of people have 500,000+ ethereum. These people got the coins when they were 1 penny each, now I have to pay $500 for the same coin?

Why are the coins so expensive today? Can I go back in time and get them cheaper?

Even if I put in a lot of my money, I only get a fraction of what people were able to get 1 year ago. 1 year ago people got coins for 1 penny and stashed 100,000 coins for $1000, now I have to pay $1000 just for 1 coin?!? I feel so ripped off!

Also I knew about Bitcoin when it was $30, and I knew about Ethereum when it was $7! I was alive in these time periods and was looking online and reading about these things but it all flew by!

Am I too late to the party? Is it a good time to get buy today or should I find a way to time travel back in time?

My frustration is BIG.
That is the way things work, you could have gotten microsoft shares for cheap when they put those shares for sale long time ago, or to use a more recent example the shares of apple were very cheap for sometime until Jobs took control of the company for the second time, are you late to the party for bitcoin and other coins? Yes, but now is your turn to try your luck with coins that have almost no value today.

Not too late but that can be considered as another mean just like not the best time to join in the party, ethereum already worth a lot of that will be definitely true. it not caused by the popularity but it seems to be another bad thing to buy at the pumped price.

You and me friend. Just started investing 3 months ago. Altcoins are cheaper right now due to the looming bitcoin forks coming and people are converting to BTC to get free coins. You can buy coins that you most believe in after some research. Then wait for bitcoin to fall before investing. Watch the signs and do something. It's never too late for the party!

From personal experience, I can tell you I had the exact same thoughts and feelings...it's a quick way to get you feeling straight up depressed.

And from a practical standpoint, don't let it affect you.  Feeling like you are too late can cause you to lose patience and try to jump in now before it's too late.
The market is extremely volatile, this means that guaranteed even almighty BTC will crash and price correct.  Of course, not down to last years prices but just wait a couple weeks, instead of buying 1BTC for $5800 you can surely get it for less than $5000 when the price crashes.

And here is a crystal ball for you!
End of Oct. and early Nov. after the hardfork, BTC can potentially crash after everyone gets their bitcoin gold and sells their btc while the price is high.

or

When BTC hits $6000.  Guaranteed professional investors and whales will automatically have a large chunk of BTC sold off at the $6000 mark causing the price to fall.

It seems looks a little late, but I'm sure going at today also it's not problem, chances are Altcoins price can still moving higher I guess. Usually after 1-2 days on Altcoins prices often experience a decrease back, but it seems the current price growth is still moving to higher direction.. so I think it having a possibility may be the prices can still continue to increase.

The worst assumption is to think that there is no room for new comers in crypto. There are plenty room for your own accumulation of bitcoin and the rest if you set your mind to it. Provide service and earn bitcoin, you can also learn to trade too.

It wasn't late, buying some alts especially those who still have potential for increase and have plans for more developments can be a good way to earn still in the future since they can increase so it's still fine.

You are just in time! Analyze and buy promising coins that are now worth less than $ 1 Buy and forget about them and remember in 1 or 2 years. Then it will be a good harvest for you. But have patience. Do not sell if the rate goes down.

nNo late at the party because it's just getting started. And the real party will start on october 25 where hard fork takes place. And sure many people will be given an early Christmas bonus. So you buy lots of bitcoins while the date 25 is not yet.

Well sometimes it really is hard to pursue cryptocurrency when really dont have enough funds. Because even if you keep collecting bounties or any campaigns, chances are you are still a small trader. It's hard to earn if you don't have another income business besides bitcoin. But off course a lot of people got rich just in bitcoin so go for it.

You are definitely not late to the party, I thought I was late in 2013 but things advance so quickly in this world, some would even call you an early adopter.

There is plenty opportunity still in bitcoin and the alts.
