Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I also have a different one on the info page on www.pnwminer.com. The Explorer is at http://altcha.in/chain/stablecoin . Look under Coin List and then in the explorer column.

There is 2 working code on
p2pool.org https://github.com/JudeAustin/p2pool-zet
and mine https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav
Those are 2 forks, mine has more stable payout and is not "hopper friendly" like .org ones
BUT
There is alot of power on one node, so if you have only few GH/s you can expect lots of orphans...
We need more nodes that none will have near half of pool power.

Hi every one.

I kind like the idea behind this coin... so I downloaded the client and tried to run it on my WinXP but im getting this message:

"Unable to bind to 0.0.0.0:17500 on this computer. StableCoin is probably already running"

I have other clients that work on that machine... and theres no firewall.

Any help please?

Possibly you have another program that is using the same port. In Cmd prompt you can type "netstat -o"  That will show what Process is using what port. Also. WinXP? Time to upgrade matey. Security holes galore in windows XP.

_No luck... I only have a couple of open ports + dropbox.. could the version have a bug or something?

Just wanted to thank our Stablecoin traders and miners with their own Cryptsy.com avatar. We will be giving coins away and merchandise randomly to folks who sport a cryptsy avatar on any coin forum that we spot.

+1

Been running the client for a few days now and it's never connected. None of the nodes in the OP are running the stablecoin client.

I've had a quick scan through the thread, trying to connect to port 17500 of any IPs or pool hostnames mentioned, still no luck. A pastebin early in the thread that apparently listed 63 node IPs has been removed.

The blockchain explorer at http://coinminer.net:2750/chain/StableCoin shows the last block from nearly 2 months ago. I'm assuming this is because whoever runs it is no longer running a stablecoin client.

The lights are on but no ones home!

I download the client for the first time today, it connected ok and downloaded the blockchain for me without adding any nodes.

I've been solo mining successfully for most of the day, however I have just lost everything that was mined since 21:40 UK time (now 23:41) as none of them would get confirmed by the network.

Not sure if this means there is a fork?

Have just restated my client twice an I now seem to be getting confirmations on my mined blocks.

Think I might be the only one mining lol, either that or I have inadvertently created a fork???  Any idea how I would find that out?

EDIT - Just got a load more Orphans so am gonna can mining this for tonight.

Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing?

If everyone is thinking outside the box, there is a new box.

Could be a fork. 90 block till difficulty adjust wont do anything.

My Extremecoin has 72 block adjust and now sits stuck at diff 22.

I finally managed to connect into the network a couple of days ago, but I'm only connected to 2 peers, so it's still not ideal. For anyone trying to connect, try:

addnode=72.78.100.8:17500
addnode=188.126.8.14:17500

170059 blocks @0.14194835 difficulty.
