is it possible that someone got the mail with which you have registered at bitfinex. then he/she created an account and so knew the password. then he/she changed the mail adress in the account so you can log in and trade, so he/she then would log in and steal your btc, but you changed the password. so it was just kind of phishing.

No, for I never ever registered with Bitfinex.

Why did they risk losing all these coins? I mean these coins now might be owned by bitfinex. And when no one asks for them then they can keep it.

Why risking that the owners of the email get an email and login? I mean they would lose it pretty fast then. I dont understand this.

By the way... the owners of these emails could have taken the bitcoins too, then claiming the hacker did that.

This all makes no sense to me. At least they could have created accounts with 1 Bitcoins in it. When they are gone then the email is still in use and the owner cares and didnt think its spam.

What did they try to do with the coins anyway? They should have sell and withdraw. End of story.

I absolutely agree. This seems weird. They either were so unbelievable stupid that it hurts, or they have a bigger plan which is so unfuckingbelievable smart that it's beyond our imagination. However, they were pretty smart in setting up the whole cloudminr.io-operation, so why would they now be so stupid. I really don't get it at the moment.

Open letter to Bitfinex and my apologies if this has been covered in the thread already, but I haven't check posts in awhile:

"Hi I am a Bitfinex customer and I noticed you made several changes to the site recently.  One reason I prefer Bitfinex to your competitors is that you seem to be continually working to tweak and improve it to make it even better.

However one of the recent changes I feel is negative so wanted to give you some feedback.  It seems that the default view for "My Active Positions" and "My Active Orders" is to be closed, so you can't actually see your positions and orders.

For instance if I am looking at BTCUSD Exchange and want to go to Margin Trade, it automatically collapses them and I have to click on the little arrow to show them again.  If even go between Margin Trade BTCUSD to LTCUSD, it hides them again too.

As you know, speed is of the essence with trading and this just slows everything down. Also if you have an open position and open orders, it's important to be able to see them and act on that information that is displayed, so I'm not sure why you choose to hide them repeatedly, so have to take valuable time clicking and displaying them over and over again.

Please consider changing this so the default is to have them visible, or at least add an option in Account Settings to allow for this default to be changed, per user.

Thank you for your consideration with this matter."

Feature re-enabling request (aka "new interface" issue):

Could the tech team please look into the lost in new interface feature of sorting things from within one's account. I am not sure yet if more than one place is affected, but at least in swaps section, sorting of taken swaps by date and by the amount is no longer possible (sorting by percentage seems to be the only parameter working). Within old interface, one could just click on column title and get things sorted (ascending or descending, per repeated clicks).

Thank you in advance.

I personally do not yet feel any major shortcomings of new interface (except lack of sorting I reported above), but I would definitely second the suggestion to provide interface customizations (setting default views). Obviously you cannot "please" everyone, so enabling custom views of sort, can be a very good (and in fact quite common) solution.

What should i do answer them regarding the Margin was not enough and why they not close the rebuy order for the short its obvious or not ?   sorry for my english  btw

is there any chance to get my rights or am i done with that ?
Any order that YOU placed will stay current for as long as there is enough funds to back such order, until YOU cancel it yourself.  This is also true regardless of any other trades that might happen on your account meanwhile.

Something is definitely wrong with BF. I got an open position (short) on the LTC/USD pair. Just tried to sell more and my order was executed and I could find it the history but it's not displayed in the position. I mean that I still have the same amount in the position that I've had before selling.

Update: The position was partially fixed but still not correct. I guess the exchange is having some delays executing orders. Careful.

I'm; see the message above. By the way, I still see the position which I had closed and it seems like I could close it again (with profit). You owners really need to do something with it.

Update: lol I was able to close it again and got some profit.

Calm. The funds I got from the fake position disappered (although the comission was held). What is worse is that I can't withdraw all my BTC (some seems to be reserved for the position). Someone might be goxxed...

Hello All,
Bitfinex had a huge lag yesterday, what a mess.
I got huge issue with my account now.
The active position is totally different than my trade history !
The history of trade is correct but the active margin trade order is wrong and now I am - (minus) 450$ if I decide to close the position.
I opened the short position but some how I get long position, wtf is going on.
I got screenshoots and history of trade file as a proof.
Be careful guys, I also send a 2 tickets to support many hours ago without answer.

If it is a site wide issue Im sure they are working on resolving it. Any incorrect positions have always been rectified in the past and any errors or loss of funds sorted out. Be patient and I'm sure your issue will be dealt with.

I will let you all know if something change. I am waiting now over 10 hours I think.

So pretty much what I said above then. They will re-imburse you for any losses caused by an error on their side as they always do.

I you create a margin order for 5000, when you try to close it, it does not close and the message "You can't create an order for more than 5000 units" gets displayed. This is very big issue since people could lose a lot of money because of this bug and get stuck in a position.
