Is there any plans to increase the Total Insurance Fund?  Currently it is at $52k USD which isn't too much with the amount that is being lent.

The popup notices "your offer has been placed" stay up about 5 times too long.  They clutter the screen and can block my account balance when I'm using a narrow screen.

When it says that large withdrawals will be processed manually, what does "large" mean, and how long does "manually" take?

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.  Give a man a Poisson distribution and he eats at random times independent of one another, at a constant known rate.

This is a rather big idea that shouldn't necessarily be high priority:
You could promote shorting BTC as a service for bitcoin merchants to provide price stabilization.

You could ensure that they get exactly the price that the bitcoins were worth at the time of purchase and not have to worry about any changes in its value while transferring the coins to an exchange for sale.

Might be best done by integrating with one or more merchant payment processors (ex. Coinbase).

Third party financial institution, which can guarantee large amount credit line or factoring? May be the same Slovenia bank knows some solution?

Slovenia has a systemic risk embedded, no way we'll put your money there.

Third party financial institutions taking risk on a bitcoin related business? You must be kidding me.....
If you find one you win 10 BTC, not only 1.
Wink

Thanks anyway

I'd bet you have already looked into this, but have you considered a bank from the same group of Bitstamp ?
I'm not sure about it, but I believe that you could obtain bank deposits/withdrawals in the same day even between banks in different countries, if they belong to the same group. This has been reported somewhere in this forum some time ago, so it must be taken with a grain of salt.

If this is indeed confirmed, you could try and find a country with a lower systemic risk than Slovenia.

I'm considering myself opening an UniCredit Group account in my country, should what I said above be confirmed and my needs require it.

It has even already been suggested. While it really might cut off a day every once in a while in processing, the main issue is I think that it takes 24 hours until the next time deposits are credited. There is little that you can do - if you ask the bank, they likely then say that other banks only process every 24 hours etc.

I sent some btc 3 hours ago, but still don't see it on bitfinex. I checked everything.
This is the second time I had this problems. I sent btc but it took too long (about 3-4h) to go to bitfinex although it had 10+ confirmation. It's annoy me. I want to sell at 930, now I have to sell at 900. 3 hours everything will change in this market. I want to know why ? And when you fixed this. I traded many btc in your site. Recently I had this problems.

Hello everyone,

So I'll try to answer the questions here:

By large withdrawals we mean 100,000 USD worth of BTC or LTC. With price increase, this limit is getting lower and lower in BTC or LTC term so we might adjust it.
You might also run into an empty hot wallet and in this case it takes a few hours to replenish it (as deposits goes directly into cold wallet).

About the insurance funds, we have no such plan for now. We prefer to ensure the insurance will never been put into use, as the concept of this insurance is not attractive to investors (it's a 0 to 5% a year for a 100% loss risk).

ABout BTC deposits taking too long, here is the situation: As you know, we use Armory as the client to manage the deposits. This is a great client, that provides a good level of security. However it has one tiny problem: it is very unstable. Sometimes it crashes, and in this case it is automatically restarted (it takes 15 minutes to be fully restarted, those who use Armory will understand why). But sometimes, it also just "freezes" in a unusable state, in which case we have to manually restart it.
As our activity increases, it is more and more unstable (today it has been restarted twice). We are considering new options, but of course this has to be carefully planned as security is the first requirement of Bitfinex.
Don't worry though, the funds are never lost, as the technology behind is Bitcoin, which, as you know, is quite awesome Smiley

Thanks for other suggestions as well, we always take note of it.

A small word about the yesterday maintenance: we have now increased our capacity and will slowly upgrade the code to make us of them. Consider the migration as completed.

As all Bitcoin exchanges these days, Bitfinex is experimenting a noticeable growth, thanks to you. So a big thank you to you all Smiley

Have a good day

I currently use Noscript and I notice that in the tab bar at the top of my browser the price of BTC no longer shows.  Does anyone know what script I need to allow for this to show again?  I can't seem to figure it out.

Maybe they could for the btc/ltc orders but I think getting fiat in and out of BTC-E isn't that easy or cheap. I doubt it would be worth it for them; BTC-E doesn't offer volume transaction fee discounts afaik and the ltc market is comparatively small.

I hope its not too difficult, LTC/usd is where the volatility is at.

Could have made a killing this week, BFX LTC order books are way too thin to trade atm.

Hello, bitfinex! Why are you not replying to my e-mails? I've sent 2 to support@bitfinex.com (the topic is "Bank transfer") and 1 to contact@bitfinex.com, still got no reply. And i got no e-mail from you with the invitation code for your forum, so here is my almost only option to contact you, the next one will be writing Raphael on LinkedIn, so, please, stop silence and reply to my e-mails.

Maybe very thin liquidity there (few USD) so it constantly gets eaten away as soon as someone closes a long position?
