Well, Airdrops are great before the ICO, but if you want o get more Token/Coins you have the possibility to buy them more cheaper in pre-ICO and ICO time ... when the Token/Coin is on the Exchange, it can be late to buy them cheaper...

Airdrop doesn't compete with ICO, because generally airdrops are the step before an ICO to make the coin become popular.

Airdrop is not a bad thing for user if you don't have to download anything. It's free money, but generally very low value at start.
Some of them might become famous, but as Vitalik said, 95% of the altcoin will fail at the end, so imagine for the airdrop of unkown coins...

That is my experience on joing airdrops that is found inside forum, a lot of them had red tags and needs more steps before sending little tokens into your wallet so now I don't participate any airdrops because it's too technical and will take a lot of time and afterwards you'll get a little value. ICOs are used to collect funds as a crowd fund from investors to start up an upcoming project. These investors are rewarded with tokens that have value and use later on in the market and the project itself.

Airdrops are a joke really. There's nothing serious about them. Just start a token and give 1k-2k people this token.
Market it for a week.
Hit exchanges.
Boom dev makes a lot of money.
All sell and the token is dead.
Repeat.

This is literally what goes in it. Airdrops are not to be taken into consideration in any way. Although they can be a funny way to get some extra free cash.

And yes I participated in a few during October and got about $130 out of them as a total. So yeah. Not bad.
I guess it should vivid and clear right now that one should never invest or buy into these airdropped tokens as once they go down, they keep going that way.

You have to send a pm to the developer or people in charge when you found such condition. Let them know that someone or more try to cheat their airdrop. They will fix the spreadsheet with the information you give. I found some people used my ID to participate on airdrop too sometimes.

I like Airdrops and participate in many of them. It is a great way to promote projects from a project team side. Also it is a great way for airdrop participants to earn some extra money. Unfortunatelly, nowdays there are so many Airdrops and from some of them you will never see coins, and from others of them they will never have any value. But also some of them can be very profitable. For example from one of recent Airdrops I earned equivalent of 83 dolars. You are right xD, and like almost every one know, we have to read carefully, to check what we download (if we have to), and most of the times you can be scammed, sometimes you can get good value for the airdrop, some times the coin can be forgotten after..., everything depend how the distribution is made, how the ICO work, how many participants it get, and how strong is the community behind. But for me, the most important is what type is the project, how the DEVs work about, and the support to be always good enough and rdy to do all them best for the community, to bring everything on front of you, and you to be happy with that crypto/project etc ...
Almost every one is here for profit.., some for short one.., but some people like and support the others project, because they have good cause, which can help to others or to bring something verry well to the world

LOL. Because airdrops are getting larger and larger in numbers, you think that ICOs will come to an end? Definitely not. ICO may be full of scam, but airdrops are already catching up in terms of scams. Almost everyday, there are airdrops freely given away. These airdrops are 100% scam, without any proper objective and roadmap. They are simply exploiting the easy way to create tokens. But in terms of vision, they have nothing. They are simply raising some contributions for themselves.

Airdrop is a free token. It is distributed during pre-ICO. A user must register before the ICO start or within the token distribution. It's not bad actually, it is good because it is free money. It is better to hold the tokens that you receive when there is an exchange rate for the token.

It was my understanding that airdrops are sometimes done to people who did not necessarily register with the ICO. Just to wallets that are known to have participated in ICOs before.

Ico market is definitely in thd bear market right now. People are finally waking up to realize these projects has raised millions of dollars based on a so called whtte paper. Yeap. That pretty much sums it up. But aside from what you have stated, another reason also is to make the tokens/coins circulate. Which really helps the project itself. This action also draws a lot of people into the project. Which makes a lot of bounty hunters read the platform and realize its good sides. Which then gets these people to participate in the project's bounties. it really is a great source of small income to get a newbie started ij the crypto world. Well, that is, if the person has common sense and can differentiate a scam from a legitimate project.

It depends upon the type of tokens that an airdrop provide us.If the coin or token is listed in the coin market and have a specific value then we can consider it as a good airdrop otherwise it is merely a wastage of time because we are just filling our wallet with the coins that have a low value or zero value which is of no use.Their are so many of airdrops because every company wants to promote themselves and want that the demand for their coin increases.I don't think airdrops are an end to ICO's because ICO's provide us with coins in larger number than airdrops and if in future they got listed then more the number of coins, more the amount we will earn.
