am I missing something or would this work.

Devs say that the hackers can get into the ico website accounts and transfer funds.

Blockchain has been out a week and works great.

Why cant the devs ask every ico investor to create a paper wallet, and then for a few days send all of the funds from those ico accounts (which were just numbers in a database) to the paper wallets

Then we all have are coins and hackers cant get them

Exactly the ico accounts have no real coins in them anyway so they should be able to send our coins to us anytime they want one would think

Yes I know so it is kind of concerning that they dont want to do this. If anything the only thing they should hold up is that mobile mining. It also goes to say what are they pen-testing? Their is no need to pertest the block chain or the website. Is it just the referral system and mobile miner? if so these need to be delayed not the ico coins.

They have obviously stolen the money nobody is going to believe this garbage. At least come up with better lies. You have had a week to at least do that as obviously they have not been programming anything ...
The identities of the devs and founder are out there. You think they can just steal all our coins (40 million dollars) and not have the fraud squad down on top of them. Stop being so melodramatic. Patience is a virtue.
They forked monero and called it electroneum for 40 million dollars with no working mining pools, gui wallet, or mobile app . And now they need to hire a 3rd party to secure all of these non working things which will take 3 weeks?

If they actually gave us information that made sense we would not be questioning everything, but we are left to speculate

you can add a non-working block explorer to that list too.  the difficulty and nethash stopped updating a while ago.  LOL this is one f'd up project, the devs literally can't get anything to work right.   their announcement did nothing but expose how inexperienced and amateurish their devs are, if you even consider them devs at this point since they've got absolutely nothing working at all.

Well it's pretty obvious they knew all along they did not have a working product ready on Nov 1st and decided to launch anyway for whatever reason. These delay tactics about network security may give them the time they need to fix the technical side , but withholding the ico coins is just not explainable at this point.

Absolute mess.

I started mining the night of the released, got one payout of 100etn and then 96 unpaid etn because the pools literally stopped finding blocks.. for days. NO BLOCKS WERE BEING FOUND.

This and
- no one actually has access to their wallets.
- I've had to update and / or change passwords and add pins twice now.

Really lucky I didn't actually buy into this ICO - I knew something wasn't right when there entire team was strictly composed of social marketers.

I think this is happening for a reason.....

would this not just be a DELAY tactic so that Richard Ellis does not look bad in case this happens.

"Ok guys, we are LIVE, here are your wallets, go nuts"

SELL, SELL, SELL BLOODY MORTIMER

ANd ETN crashes down to like a bees dik of a satoshi?

Maybe its just some delay tactic so the price does not plummet to earth....

Hmmmm  Huh Huh

They paid out the pending coins from eupool.electroneum.com, even as it was not reaching the 100 coin margin

Great Smiley

Edit: Minimum payout has been lowered to 20ETN

But they are still holding at least 5-10 BTC that were mined after first 14 hours when the pools stopped responding (but kept mining).

Contraband, any news from the devs?

yes do not get hit by a bus in the next three weeks or get cancer, or things will not be good. Lets keep the faith.

I hope in 3 weeks, we do not get the whole "Guys, i know its been three weeks, and we were about to release the wallets live but someone broke in an all the computers and data is gone! Help me jesus!"

I am going to stay off social media, lots of cry babies there..... which is normal.

I will keep the faith, the reason : I am in this for the long haul.

Ok I can understand the security side with the APP and site, but there is actually no reason they can not send out the ICO coins , they have all the data, they are really testing everyones patients, and no I dont want to dump them , I would prefer them under my control , cause my security will kill anything they have or will set up!! So I think even if they have to manually send out to every person there ICO coins then they should, cause the coders are coding (apparently), but there is a lot of other people just sitting around flapping there gums and making coffee, might be a idea to teach them how to send out transfers, actually thats a great idea , there getting paid , so make them earn there money!! 3-4 weeks hmmmm thats just before xmas, people will need money more for then and this could also increase the sell off , I think things were rushed to fast and not thought thru to the extent they should have been !! I want to believe , there just making it really hard to believe!!  Huh

From https://www.facebook.com/electroneum

As you know, after experiencing a real, credible, security threat, we closed access to the Electroneum wallet system and app to allow time to completely overhaul our software and network infrastructure.

very disappointing.  After all those updates everyday keeping everyone hanging saying they are so close, and then they do this.

Security is important no doubt, but that should of been thought of a long time ago.
A long long long time ago.

Well im starting to wonder,
I think i always saw in their updates that they were "very very close" "were already there"
So what happened in that very very close?,
Hey contraband, with all due respect please enlighten me to that phrases.

Just curious. Does anyone have the local adress of the companies office?  Wink

Nvm found it. Time to send someone over to have a look.  Roll Eyes
So they have now hired another company to do their job for them . So what have they been "coding" for the last week straight? No app no wallet this is a damn joke now
I wonder if it's time to get out of here..should I stay or should I go. Tongue

EDIT: In my opinion ..one should never never invest in ICO's.

For those that dont read so good "we have taken the decision that in the interest of our users' security we should apply an Enterprise level security audit and extensive penetration testing before release" doesn't mean they have hired other people to write their software, it means they have hired a professional 3rd party to test it, which is a far more robust way that trying to do it internally.

This is the reason for the delay, not that they need 3-4 weeks to recode, this means they were close to finishing the modifications and probably have finished but intend to step up the security testing before releasing due to the level of interest hackers have shown in the platform.

Contraband,

Has any of the developers found 10 minutes to look into the pools' payments?

Look, we all know that the pools kept mining, everybody understands that.
So eventually there will be a question raised whether those money were taken by the developers or where the heck are they.
