Electroneum Facebook update from a few minutes ago. It covers a blockchain update for May 30th, the fork, ASIC, divergence from Monero, etc. Be sure to read the full article.

"We’ve just announced the tech details and date of the upcoming blockchain update. New code will be released next week and official update block is on May 30th Block 307500
Please see this blog post for a video update and more details of all the upcoming changes: https://electroneum.com/2018/04/25/blockchain-update/"
That's a very good news. Thanks for sharing.
So for one and half months my ryzens will fighting with asics Grin Hope no more... And this is really nice news.
Instead of fighting asics you can mine most profitable and get more ETN with that
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

ETN owners still waiting more time to the fork and update the coin  Cry, more 30 days to do this and near to 60 days after Monero and other coins.

So bad.

THIS "NEW BLOCHCHAIN IS NOT GOING TO END WELL,IT IS A QUICK FIX TO A SERIOUS ISSUE

Before you all claim "fud" Just think about it.

I vast team of devs, white hat hackers, security specialists work on, and test, stress test, and attack codes/protocols before they are let loose on the alpha/ test-net, never mind planning to it going to be used on a real, working crypto, that it one of the heavily used crypto-coins in the world.

These  software devs spend months/years developing code, and ETN plan to chop and change monero code and let it loose by the end of the month.

You cant just do something so major, so fundamental to the coins security and value without first being 100% sure you are not putting the whole project at risk.
Untill 3 weeks ago ETN did not even have a block-chain specialist dev, they relied on the core team that was C++, user interface, promotion and advertising based. Nothing wrong with that when you just copy existing code, and they out sourced the security and auditing to a respected company, but that all took time, if you remember the delays on bring the coin into the world, which was in my opinion a good move.

But to now decide, to "make there own code" shows that Mr Ell`s is a great multi level marking man (as that is his company's history) advertising and promoting, herba-life, online retail resale company's, and he is good at getting his foot in the door with great sale pitches.

BUT CRYPTO IS MORE THAN THE NICE WEBSITE, PROMO MOBILE MINING, AND PROMOTING CRYTO FOR THE MASSES.

iT REQUIRES MUCH MORE, it needs to be safe, it needs to be secure, it needs to be bug free, it needs to be trusted. it needs more than empty promises.
If you think that this will make real investors, sit up and notice ETN I am sorry, but this could infact be the biggest and most costly mistake in the history of ETN, and if the code gets hacked, a bug is used to rig the blockchain, double spend or just inflate transaction like ETH just suffered, then it will be the end of ETN, as all the network providers will walk away and stop accepting ETN.
THIS IS MAKE OR BRAKE, IF IT WORKS THEN THEY LIVE ON, IF IT DOES NOT, THATS THE END OF ETN AS A PROJECT

Hey guys,

I'm trying to sync the simple wallet on ubuntu, however now 4 days later (got a 1gbit internet connection) he is still busy syncing.

Is there any way to make this sync proces faster? I did the ''halve'' working blockchain.raw file but that was just for 50% from all blocks.

In Windows it's easy to add nodes, but i dunno how to do that in ubuntu. Can somebody helps me  to get this sync proces faster?

100 blocks in 20 minutes sucks when there are more then 250.000blocks...

You're right this is a serious matter. But I didn't read anywhere in their announcement they're going for a brand new coin. They won't create a new algo, they'll just change some parameters which is similar to editing a config file. They'll do some minor changes to reduce the "un-traceability" of transactions and increase the speed of transactions. This sure requires some testing but 1 month is normal.

Other than that, they were probably already testing these changes before the ASIC's "attack", they just happen to apply both these blockchain changes and algo update at the same time. One big update instead of two smaller is generally good for blockchains, since the the pools and exchanges who run multiple coins at the same time, won't have to do much work just for ETN's sake, reducing the chances of something going wrong.

So, even when they apply those fixes to their blockchain, they would be still on Cryptnight normal? Are they gonna switch to something different, or they are just going to boost the blockchain's speed with this fix?

I would like to ask how to boost mining speed on my mobile phone it is not increasing stuck around 32H/s. Is there any way to get maximum speed for this purpose any kind of comparison about different devices to show the graph of mining power.

Yeah i get around ~31H/s with an Samsung Galaxy S8, i also dont know how some people can get 2x faster with the same phone, maybe they lie i dont know Tongue

I tested to run like 10 apps at the same time but it wont decrease the speed, closing the apps wont increase the speed. So at my phone it has nothing to do with this.

Do you get regular payouts on your mobile miner? Every time the pending balance reaches 10 ETN, it should transfer it to your wallet. I'm asking this because my mobile miner is not transferring anything from pending balance to my wallet. I have almost 190 ETN on the pending balance and nothing is getting transferred to my wallet. I asked here few times why is this happening, but I still didn't get any explanation. I have a friend who's getting regular payments so I'm not sure what's the deal with my miner Sad

Well because my post before get lost on the page before this one, i will ask my question again:

Does somebody using the deamon wallet on Ubuntu? How can i get it synced?

I am using the newest version, but it just stopped syncing

2018-04-27 08:40:36.326   [P2P5]   INFO    global   src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:302   [173.208.219.162:26967 OUT] Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 206796 -> 259948 [Your node is 53152 blocks (36 days) behind]
SYNCHRONIZATION started

And after this i just get the same message when waiting like ~30 minutes.
Just need those 53k blocks but he wont sync it..

The way i synced:
1. just using the ./electroneumd command.
2. found out this will take ages so i downloaded the blockchain.raw from the electroneum website
3. oké this took 12 hours to load (on an SSD rofl)
4. when ready i tried to sync by using the command in step 1. All fine, like 100 blocks in a few minutes (still very, very slow but ok it was working)
5. in last night it synced like 500 blocks and just stopped.

Ubuntu is running on an VMware, i gave it 8GB ram and 150GB (SSD) and for the fun 4 cores at 3.9GHz, all connected to an 1gbit fiber connection.

How the hell i can let this deamon sync the last 53152 blocks? Cheesy

Oké well i set the log to 1 and i get some errors:

Hmm.... Can you please check the clock on the machine as the node will not sync if the clock is wrong.

Also can you please type the command status and you should get something like the following and note this can take some time.

status

I would like to ask how to boost mining speed on my mobile phone it is not increasing stuck around 32H/s. Is there any way to get maximum speed for this purpose any kind of comparison about different devices to show the graph of mining power.

Not only you, there are many others facing the same situation by not getting their payment regularly, even i have more than 150 ETN pending in Mobile miner and still, waiting for it. In the precautions they already mentioned once after reaching 10ETN, it will automatically transfer to your main wallet but they are delaying.

Well because my post before get lost on the page before this one, i will ask my question again:

Does somebody using the deamon wallet on Ubuntu? How can i get it synced?

I am using the newest version, but it just stopped syncing

2018-04-27 08:40:36.326   [P2P5]   INFO    global   src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:302   [173.208.219.162:26967 OUT] Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 206796 -> 259948 [Your node is 53152 blocks (36 days) behind]

Hey yes the time was wrong indeed (was on automatic and however i live in Amsterdam, Ubuntu deside to let me live in Los Angeles hah).

Well time is good now (why he was syncing before? Didnt change anything with my clock/time), now with the correct time he still dont sync.

Error is gone, now i only get:

When so many have been impatient and wondering "what is going on", Rich continues to under promise over deliver. He doesnt hype things up and pump the coin.

Making modifications is what they have to do. The Monero code couldnt handle the high number of transactions as is, and ETN is still a baby. Millions of users are on the way.

They have been extra extra careful and have used so much caution they have caught hell from those in the community that want things done on old "crypto time".

The old "crypto time" of a day equals a week, does not fit this revolutionary project.

Also, I would expect the solution coming for the ASIC will be one that will be another, "next step for the crypto world" just like the instant transaction tech they developed and got a patent for.

Those that still believe that ETN is not tech savvy just cant see the facts through the FUD

Electricity bills will probably be higher than the payouts, but you're supporting a great cause while having a bit of fun with electroneum.
