Why anyone would buy into an Israeli company is beyond me.
+1 Yet presumably you all have no problem purchasing from a one-party, authoritarian communist country with one of the worst records for human rights abuses on the planet? http://www.hrw.org/world-report/2014/country-chapters/chinaAnd thats before we get into a discussion about all the suffering the USA has caused in its disproportionate use of force in the middle east and elsewhere... /politics Now back to AM... Indeed. Would be good to keep people's silly anti-Israeli biases out of a thread about bitcoin securities. Jeez, I forgot I can't speak out my opinion. Sorry Opinion police, dont hurt me...

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

If your opinion is off topic here, you can't speak it here. Quite simple, really.

For those of you who do not frequent the main ASIC MINER thread, I will post a small update from the salon (conference) that was recently held by ASIC MINER where Fried Cat revealed his identity to the public for the first time:
=========================================================== So to summarize what has been discussed so far from the conference:
- ASIC MINER has a 1T Miner that will be available for sale at some point next week - The goal for the second half of 2014 is to achieve 15-20% of the Bitcoin network - The company hopes to resume dividends in the month of August - Self-mining operation will include BE200 and BE300 series - In terms of competition, the company is aiming to squeeze many of them into the negative profit territory - A focus on information dissemination from the sales team going forward (better public relations)
** This could be subject to change or interpretation as more information from the conference flows in. Assuming the majority of the above is accurate I would say this salon was a success for the company and it's shareholders. I would like to hear more about the future of Gen4 that was discussed regarding the age of Exahash. Seems there is a lot of good news for current shareholders (Gen3) in here. ==============================================================

That picture of the guy in shorts and a t-shirt isn't FriedCat is it? Who would do a presentation in such unprofessional clothes?

I could be wrong, but I suspect investors (me included) in virtual identity companies in China with a CEO that is named FriedCat probably don't really care what clothes he wears during presentations.

I agree with dmcdad, however, the mention of MtGox, Bitfunder and Labcoin (clearly seen on shot of slide) is EXTREMELY worrying to me. What the hell is FC talking about here? I don't like hearing any mention of any of those 3 scam/fails ever, let alone in the context of a company I am backing. Can anyone provide a coherent translation, or even a live feed in chinese that I can run through google translate? (I cant seem to join weibo...copypaste anyone???) I would really like to know the context that labcoin/mtgox/bitfunder were brought up in, I would imagine the rest of you should as well.

The number of AM shares being traded on Havelock continues to rise. There are now a total of 31,271 shares on Havelock, up from 28,166 on June 3rd and 27,320 on May 26th (28,016 shares to back AM1 and 3255 to back AM100). Thanks went away for a bit so its convenient to see a summary of the goals 15 to 20% of the network is a good dividend rate and dividends starting in August is a good sign Anyways squeezing the competition seems fair given that friedcat was trying to make a competitive circle between miners and sellers but other chips were getting in the way doesn't work if only one actor tries something while the rest go all out. Sort of like Saudi Arabia pre OPEC agreeing to a fixed oil supply and then everyone else lol.

choo choo Nicely put! I think it is somewhat of an overreaction. The new miners are very nice, but we've yet to see solid dividends to get the real train starting! It's still a gamble until then, more or less!
