I recommend Bitfinex...
I really like its interface and its trading intruments!
you can use a 3:1 leverage when trading!
also you can borrow or lend money directly on their platform! they pay you interest!
Try it, you'll never regret it!!

If you only want to trade the big coins (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Etherum, and Litecoin) then I would always say Coinbase. It is easy to use and they have amazing security measures. To my knowledge they have not been hacked. It is also good if you are trading fiat money for coins instead of coins for coins.

If you want a variety I would say Binance. It has a ton of options, it is easy to use, and they add new coins fairly often.

If you only are trading cryptonight coins I will always recommend altex or trade ogre.

Never use cryptopia they are unreliable and will probably fail and crash in the next little while.

I like Poloniex, Bittrex, HitBtc. It also depends on what to trade. All good exchanges require the provision of personal data. I think this is an indicator of the seriousness of the exchange.

Using Binance at the moment. Is that one of the best, or there are better ones?  I live in Sydney Australia by the way.

And which exchange has the lowest fees?

And do I need to provide photo ID etc to join them and to start buying coins?

Thanks:)
I have been using Poloniex for last two years and its very comfortable for all coins.High volume trading is always there. Many big trader are sitting on this exchange and i have stored good amount of BTC on this.Binance is also good for new user.Professional trader are using Poloniex.I have been doing safe trading on this exchange for last two years.Fees is also low and almost all coins are listed there and second by second updated is available. Its easy to trade.

Binance is currently the best, followed by bittrex imo. Kucoin is also quite good, the volume is kinda low but i'm happy about the customer service they provide. Soon the CGCX exchange is going live so that one i'm looking forward to as well!

My favorite exchange is binance-fast, efficient, safe. But I also like bibox and bit-z - they are medium-level exchanges with good prospects.

Bittrex and Poloniex. If I want to trade my ERC20 tokens with favorably price I use EtherDelta.

i can not recommend any centralized exchange platform to anybody. because they are not 100% safe. but i use binance and bittrex. they list most of the major altcoins that i trade and they have good volumes so i use those 2.

Actually, Binance is a biggest and trusted exchange everyone knows it. But In Binance there are some trading charges that is frustrating. In this situation, you can use Bittrex because Bittrex will better for you I think.

I think you should choose Binance, which has a fast and low cost of ownership. The choice of Binance is widely voted as the best trading platform today. And I feel the same way.

Actually Binance is good, I use it most of my time, but if there will be some united exchange, where you can trade all the coins, it would be great, unfortunately the situation is not so good at the time.

All transaction floors need to provide ID or passport for withdrawal and depositing on the floor. Binance is a good choice, I always love binance.

All centralized exchanges are good for use, but I recommend Binance, binance exchange is good in terms of security, market volume, and the transaction fee is affordable, binance is the best. I mostly use binance unless my coin is not listed there.

i think Binance is good for high cap coins and the hyped ones , Kucoin, Bibox and Cryptopia for low caps and few gems and IDEX for the post ICO coins where you can scoop the ones you coud'nt get in at ico or the price during ico was not reasonable.

In my opinion, Bittrex and Binance are my favorite exchange. The two have bigger volume and they are completed. Mostly, they are easy to use and check. However, it doesn't mean that they are the only exchange that I use. Commonly, I will see where the coin is listed after the ICO. I will also make some comparison on some exchange for some altcoins that I will sell or buy.

There are many exchanges poping up almost every now and then with new features and innovations! I recently come across another type of decentralized exchange that enable you to trade right from your wallet with no fees using Ox protocol. The exchange is called tokejar!
