Three golden rules:
- Don't invest more than you can afford to lose
- Search for informations to get your own idea about a project
- Be patience
being patient does not always help. many are more patiently waiting for more than 6 months when the market unfolds and their deposit has gone to minus a minimum of 50% and could immediately sell and lose only 10%. Patient should be on the situation
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

considering that first message in thread was posted in november 2017, this person is not a newbie anymore and has more experience than some of authors here. it is interesting to know what he could answer to his question now.

My advice is a newbie should try to learn daily research on electronic money for you to have enough knowledge of encryption and try to read the guidelines and regulations when doing bounties even airdrop. Try to increase the rankings in the group to earn more shares

Hi guys,

Newbie here trying to set up a crypto profile. 1 month ago I had heard the name Bitcoin but didn't know what it was other than a digital currency and had not heard of any alt coins so bear with me  Undecided

I don't have a huge amount to invest, thus far i have 0.13 BTC and 2 ETH, 2.6k XRP AND 50 OMG. I want to keep adding to this and keep it for as long as needed, i  am not really interested in trading as i don't understand this space enough to do that.

Any ideas or thoughts? Should i move any of these around? Concentrate on adding to bitcoin? Add to XRP/OMG etc etc???

Also i have a ledger nano s en route to keep my coins.

cheers

I think if you want to do things to save or mine. if you already have a book about traveling to save bitcoin, you should understand it first and you must learn again. so that everything you want can be achieved.

Well this is commendable of course, but if you do not know how to deal with coins, it's better not to go into this world of blockchain. Well, you can certainly learn from your own and others' mistakes. If such an optimist can earn even more coins by participating in various bounties in this forum.

What I will advise is to buy more of BTC and eth for now since both will rise a lot when bull resume, while other altcoins will first dip more. So buy more of BTC and eth then convert back to some altcoins when bull resumes fully

You are welcome to the crypto world.  My advise is,  be patience,  that's one thing needed in this world.  Don't see it as a get rich quick Adventure.  Before you invest do your diligent research on the project. Don't buy because you see others buying or hyping the token . And be careful not to panic sell because others are selling.  Always do your research and  follow your heart .

I welcome you to crypto world. As a newbie, I will advise you not to follow the crowd in Crypto where investment is concerned. Make your personal findings and research on any project that interests you then if the results y you get are legit and promising, then you can proceed to invest.
I am wishing you all the very best.

if you don't like trading, then how do you get a profit to increase your coins?
one of the ways that you have to take is to invest, but investment in cryptocurrency has a very high risk,
even you can lose all your money in a short time
but, for newbies it is advisable to learn and keep honing your special abilities, so that they can be useful and can make more money

first of all you need to read a lot and learn about the project. Now that you start investing in coins, the main thing is not to sell them at a low price, but wait until the price is higher than the price of the investment.

I highly advice that you should be able to manage your emotions when the market prices are dropping in order to avoid losing a huge amount of investments.

When you know enough about this market, then you have your own judgment. Whether to invest in this market depends on your judgment.
