Yes, we need it as a crypto holders because it's not just about Bitcoin, there are also a lot of Altcoins that has a price in the market and even though it has a small amount of it but in the future it will get high. Some altcoins is a newly coins or ICO that you can buy it in a smaller price and you can sell it or trade it in a higher amount that's why altcoins are also important because when Bitcoin price goes up also altcoin price goes up.

If we would only use and buy bitcoin products then that would be a monopoly in bitcoin's part. There should be some flavor or variety for people to be encouraged or interested to invest.That is why we still need  altcoins to add diversity to the cryptocurrency industry. After all, we aim cryptocurrency to become official money in the future, and with diversity, it would be better to use cryptocurrency.

Of course we need altcoins. New Cryptos ideas and innovations will tend to come out often nowadays and the devs will want to make use of the blockchain tech to express themselves. The only problem is that there will also be some abusers of the tech.

Altcoins with a strong community can do particularly well. In some cases, a community builder will work alongside the coin's technical mastermind, focusing on marshalling a group of people together and making things happen. It's hard not to respect these coins.

Sure, it increases variety. Think of it as different fiat currencies you may want to invest in. Just because the dollar and euro are the strongest currencies right now, doesn't mean other fiat currencies are not required?

I understand what your point is. Variety of altcoins is good and you can select an altcoin that suits you the best. There are some altcoins that is good in cashing out your altcoins. Think altcoins as mini bitcoin, in each coin there are lots of disadvantages and advantages. Choosing variety of coins will hekp which coin suit you the best and soon use it for transactions. Even bitcoin has disadvantages that won't help you in the future.
