I'm rolling with PHS still. The volume is just way too low on coinex.pw at this point. I executed a handful of buys/sells over the past few days but it was a slow process.

Please add RED, ELP and PHS!

ELP community is a good one, I actually only see one bad elephant there. I won't name him, and everyone knows. I don't really understand why he's doing these long paragraphs against ELP. Looks like to me a competitor coin's promotor trying to undermine the ELP.

Guessing he is referring to me -- I've said nothing but facts the entire time and, as a result, the ELP community hates me. I have nothing to gain from ELP not making it to Cryptsy...I was only offering suggestions (and BitJohn concurred) to help increase the attractiveness of the coin. The ELP community truly consists of a bunch of nuts! My guess is that these guys are working together...headquartered in a WiFi-enabled psych ward somewhere.

BitJohn, need your clarification: this new coin "CPUcoin", the owner claimed to be cryptsy's friend, and said that the coin probably to be listed in cryptsy next week, is this true? This coin was premined about 8000 blocks before it was launched, it was about 17.4 mil coins premined. Does a "friend" of cryptsy get priority to be listed?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278069.msg2972046#msg2972046

I am a long term member (from the start) of cryptsy, I just hate these coins that have huge premined coins and devs want to make quick bucks at the expenses of other people. These days making a new coins is sooo easy, just copy a coin source and change a few parameters. If premine is encouraged, then it is the end of the alt coins.

no, friends of cryptsy do not take priority over any other coins, however being a cryptsy regular does give you a few bonus points. As for CPUcoin, the mention of Whirlpool(which is already broken algo, the new one is called Whirlpool T) in passing and with 17.4 million coins premined and as many lies and shady maneuvers as the dev has pulled, i'd venture to say it will never get listed at cryptsy. Whirlpool t is a 512 bit algorithm that can be shortened to 384 bits, making it non ideal for cryptocurrency, however its basically the same thing as sha 512 with different mixing techniques. also the guy completely lies about using it

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

So you hate 99% of altcoins and want them out of Cryptsy?
For someone to gain money, someone needs to lose it, that's what those premined coins are doing, scamming good people out of their money.

BitJohn I have been mining

DOLLARPOUNDS DPS

This currency is a tribute to Red Dwarf!

Website
http://dollarpounds.org/

SPECIFICATIONS
Scrypt Algo
1.5% interest per year
30 million total coins (Thats about 10 coins per a light year) Grin
1 block per minute
10 coins per block
0.01 transaction fee
Difficulty retarget every block
Transaction messages

They say its not premined.

They also started a Escrow Service as well.

This service is intended to raise money for the foundation.  so that we can get some updates and services. There was no premine with DPS so we rely 100% on the community.  This is intended for large trades but we will do small trades until we have support from an exchange.

I would like to announce that we will act as an Escrow service for 2% of the trade.  the minimum trade is 100 DPS and is available from Kryten on the foundation forum.

Rules here:  http://www.dollarpou...=8&t=9&p=11#p11

To initiate a trade post here:  http://www.dollarpou...ewforum.php?f=8

Risk free trade!

Tribute coins seem to do well on Cryptsy.
(GIL), (LBW)

They do have support forum and one of the post says:

I will be lobbying the virtual exchanges in trying to get or coin accepted! The more miners we have the better chance we have of being accepted.

Mining has not started yet but is planned for 15th August around lunchtime BST (British Summer Time)

Don't worry if you missed the start though, because DollarPounds has liner difficulty so if you missed the start you can still make a lot of coins no matter when you discover us!  Cheesy

Thanks BitJohn for the Cryptsy Service can't wait to see some of the new features you have been talking about adding.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is a 512but sha coin that can be shortened to 384 bits not ideal? Because 256-bit SHA hardware can't do anything with it?  Not debating anything else, just that single point?

well you have a point i guess. i just think that there are really no benefits of T over Sha 512. i originally brought up the concept of a T based coin a few months back on the board and it was met with some criticism. I think maybe someone like Joel Katz with a broader knowledge of cryptography might be able to shed some light on the pros and cons of Whirlpool T in a cryptocurrency system. i only know what i've read and there isn't a whole lot out there about this subject in the wild yet
