What makes a altcoin valuable

I'm developing an altcoin that is based on social sharing. What foundational technologies are going to make it the most valuable? What makes an altcoin valuable? I'm wondering if it is just how much people hear about it? Thoughts?

The community and investors will decide the value of an altcoin. If they feel that the altcoin is good and valuable, they will buy and hold them, and the latter will have to buy higher prices so that the value of the altcoin is also increased.

Previously, I would like to say the value but now I understand all the crypto currency value based on the belief ----- depends on how many people has belief on that coin.

If you are talking about exchange value - then it is hype level, psyhology, the ratio of supply and demand and also market cycles. Also market manipulations, pump and dump games can increase or decrease your altcoin value. But I would prefer if an altcoin contained some "technology" or "usability" value. In this case it will grow by itself

People make it valuable, people invest, spread out the information about it which helps the coins to develop. It is not only how many people have heard about it, but about government and actions inside are affecting the price as well. (that is my opinion)

It seems to me that altcoin becomes valuable when a area appears in which it can be applied. In the simplest case, it's utility altcoins / tokens. If you have a good project, a strong team, you should expect that your altcoin will become valuable.

This is a big truth that the value of any coin depending upon the numbers of the investors and numbers of another factors also that gives a big boost to the price to get up .
For example you can take bitcoin , bitcoin is simply a coin but its demand in the cryptocurrency world because of the only reason of the trust that if the holder will sell his bitcoin then he will get better amount of money .
And also technology and investors of bitcoin are in bulk then another coins have potential , so here clearly we can see that demand and supply making the value of bitcoin much .
So give a perfect reason and also make a real life relationship with your coin to make it such that it will be use by the people to increase demand .

There are many factors that makes the altcoin valuable.

First is the team behind it including the advisers. In my experience, the one who has a highly reputable person in their team are those who are reaching their hard cap easily in their crowdsale. I'm not saying that all but most of them.

Second is the project itself, if it helps people or if it is working. If their project is good and if it benefits the people then definitely they will invest.

Third is the transparency of the team. They must show their true profile and they must not hide something because if they will do it then it will be a bad sign for the investors.

Fourth is their roadmap. Fifth is their technology. How many tx per second their coin will do? What will be the use of the coin in their project? In their platform etc.

Last for me and one of the most important is their marketing strategy. How they can market their product in the online world.

This will help them in achieving their goal in the future.

Like almost all currencies in the world cryptocurrencies has their values because users are ready to buy coins for that value. Cryptocurrency like any other popular liquid asset is speculative investment.

If in the future people will use them for the intended use of the developers (e.g for payment for the game developers that uses a blockchain) then its value would potentialy increase as tthe tokens would be distributed to many people who would then trade it.

I think part of the things that give value to altcoin is the potential and the uniqueness of the coin. The team behind a project speaks volume about any altcoin value. If the team behind a project is very strong and they are proactive then the coin will surely have value.

That is right, an altcoin will have high price when its market has demand.
More demand, the liquidity of this coin will raise, that is the reason Bitcoin market is always better than altcoin markets because the liquidity of Bitcoin is top 1 in cryptocurrency world.
Currently, I just know some altcoins can use for applications, example: Ethereum to buy ICO token, smart contract, Ripple to using for its network, the banking system and some payment services in Japan, etc.
