No one ever said your order will be on you door on August 31st.

I am not a native english speaker, so maybe I have some misunderstanding what does "August delivery" mean. Could you please describe why "August shipment maybe if everything goes well" is equal to the "August delivery" I purchased?

Valle,

Sorry if I came across terse. The quote you used makes me sound like an ass  Embarrassed Sorry.
My statement comes from this post:

Dave stated back on Aug 2nd he hoped the first shipments to be out by Aug 31st. That does not mean all of them. But I believe they will be out quick. So far this is the best experience I have had with ASIC vendors.

Sorry for that, Mark. Thanks for the clarification. Could you share why do you think that it will be out quick?

Now I see 100Thash ghash.io what consist (according rumors) of bitfury hardware and that there are "fast delivery" appeared what cost almost 200$, but no August orders have received/(shipped?) yet even with a regular delivery. It looks like the hardware is ready but it is currently in use and they aren't going to send it soon. According to this pessimistic point of view I see no difference between "soon" and "in 2 weeks".
I don't want to "hold them at their throat" but it doesn't look good to me.

BitFury has a large team of engineers all working to deploy boards.  There's is a different board design from ours.  Different production line, etc.  That group is doing pretty well bringing up their hashpower, which you can see at ghash.io.

Our boards have just begun to ship from the factory in China, and we will turn them around to August delivery customers as soon as we can.  I've just grabbed three more tech savvy people to help me with testing/rating the boards, so that we can get them in the shipping line quicker.

very well indeed - they surpass the AM hashrate
out of curiosity why are you/punin and official bitfury team using different board designs?

I see. So bitfurystrikesback.com/megabigpower.com bought chips from https://metabank.ru/asic and created your own board, right?

Interesting theirs is running at 21.996Gh/s
If that's the case then Dave would definitely have to ship a 2nd board with each 25Gh kit? or nearly 3 extra boards with Full Kit.

Under development Modular UPGRADEABLE Miner (MUM). Looking for investors.
Changing one PCB with screwdriver and you have brand new miner in hand... Plug&Play, scalable from one module to thousands.

Not quite. AFAIK Bitfury is designer, and he sold some chips to metabank on the beginning of development process. Dave and Niko are not affiliated with metabank.

That's for the version-2 m-boards.  Since Dave is going to be shipping the version-1 boards, the h-boards need to be inserted starting at the beginning with no gaps between them....

EDIT: refers to a post that was deleted.  Guess I should have quoted it....

Yep. I'll have a version of this instruction for our V1 M-boards.  I have the power adapters in hand, so no worries there.

So far my main points will be:

-use two PCI-e cables (not both plugs on the same PCI-e cable).
-don't hotplug the H-boards
-don't put the H-boards in backwards - the edge connector is universal.  If you plug in the H-board with chips facing away from the rPi end, say goodbye to that board.  I plan to indicate this requirement in a few different ways (labels, etc)
-these M-boards have a single control bus.  Cards need to be loaded in each slot with no gaps (until someone designs a dummy plug anyway)

According to FedEx boards come tomorrow morning, with more Friday.  Fab says all boards ordered will be done and shipped Monday - we'll see about that.

I anticipate going dark on you for a few days while we all focus on assembling, testing and shipping rigs.  I'll pop on with some kind of status & pics as time allows so you know whats going on!

Hi Dave,

Since delivery is imminent, is it possible that prior to shipping you can point us to some instructions on the miner software and installation process for whatever m-board versions you'll be shipping out?
I'd love to start learning how to set up the miner using p2ppool or something else prior to receiving my kit.
Otherwise, in the absence of any official information, some rumors and potentially misguided instructions are currently floating around on how to set up the kits.

Thanks

Is there a reason not to use a cat5e cable? or is this just your preference.

For me I will use wire better than wireless and wireless not very good for miner.

People express their preference but not any actual, technical reasons of why not, which is what you are asking. I'd definitely do wireless since I know people that have mined wirelessly without any issues. It's not a bandwidth-intensive task at all.
