Sexcoin: Not your usual Cryptocurrency SXC is one of the few currencies to rate a mention by the Washington Post, CNN Money and International Business Times. Max Keiser host of the financial program "The Keiser Report" stated "Sexcoin is the first industry specific crypto that has billion dollar blockbuster encrypted all over it." Sexcoin is gaining attention outside of the cryptocommunity because it offers something most alternatives to Bitcoin don't … A solid business model. The cryptocurrency market is saturated with hundreds of Bitcoin alternatives. While this provides a testing ground for innovative features, many rely on rarity or popularity for value. Every one of them competes with Bitcoin, although it's code can be updated to include most features if an alternative begins to seriously threaten it's market. Relatively few of them are accepted by real world businesses, and those that do are plagued by the same problems that challenge adoption of Bitcoin itself. Lacking the popularity, development and infrastructure of Bitcoin they are unlikely to out compete it. When you consider a real world good, such as a pizza, it requires a time sensitive delivery. At the point of delivery traditional payment methods such as cash, EFTPOS or credit card are not only well established and more convenient to the consumer, but preferable to the merchant as the volatility of cryptocurrency can lead to significant losses and pose significant risk. While speculators can wait for the value of a currency to recover, businesses need to replace stock, or consumables and materials as well as cover their operating costs immediately. For these reasons cryptocurrency provides no advantage, is high risk and is unlikely to be adopted as more than a gimmick. Statistics show that the Adult entertainment Industry has an annual global turnover of 96 billion dollars, with 28,258 internet users viewing adult material every second which are essentially digital goods. These goods are generally worth little per item, which makes industry the eminently suitable for adoption of the microtransactional business model. Due to fees charged on each transaction with traditional payment systems the industry has struggled to adopt a microtransactional business model, which has been so successful in other online entertainment industries such as gaming and music and in some cases credited with reviving them. The microtransactional business model is also more attractive to the consumer as they are no longer fettered by time constraints imposed by the subscription business model, and can pay for only the content they want, when they want. The microtransactional business model can be adopted in addition to the existing subscription model. As such it presents to the provider a low risk way of accepting additional payments, and increasing their customer base. It has the potential to allow customers to purchase material from promotional pages affiliated to the site, increasing points of sale. In the case of Sexcoin gaining wide spread adoption for digital goods in the adult industry, not only is there reduced risk of accepting payment despite market volatility because the goods are virtual, but the industry has struggled with traditional payment methods. The use of credit cards has left the industry open to "friendly fraud" whereby customers charge back payments and "unfriendly fraud" whereby stolen credit card details are used as payment to check their validity. With banks charging fees to the content provider when this occurs, the Adult Industry is essentially high risk and has had difficulty with banks refusing to help them in their commerce. Providers of adult material have unsuccessfully searched for alternative payment systems. The industry has in some cases adopted Bitcoin as a payment option because it eliminates this problem entirely, however while SXC has not been crafted as a global currency for all transactions and cannot compete with Bitcoin in this purpose, It has been designed and branded specifically for this niche, and out performs and can out compete Bitcoin within it. SXC is not designed for speculation as a digital commodity and does not depend on rarity for value. It is designed for commerce with enough coins being generated to make it more affordable per unit and more easily obtained by the consumer. SXC is ten times faster to confirm than Bitcoin, but the block time is slow enough to ensure the data from commerce is propagated throughout the network. It does not use experimental algorithms which may lead to instability, but relies upon proven ASIC resistant scrypt. ______________________________________________________Exchange List: http://www.sexcoinforum.org/index.php?topic=479.0List of Commercial Sites: http://www.sexcoinforum.org/index.php?topic=481.0List of Mining Pools: http://www.sexcoinforum.org/index.php?topic=449.0 Online Wallets: https://sxcwallet.com/Block Explorer: http://sxcexplorer.com/Faucet: http://www.thebitcoinmaster.com/sexcoin/index.phpProfitability Calculator http://www.outhashed.com/ Web Proxy http://stealthx.me/Sexcoin Bootstrap http://datajumper.com/Merchant Tools: https://coinpayments.net/ Payment Processing Social MediaOfficial Sexcoin Website: http://sex-coin.infoOfficial Sexcoin Forum: http://www.sexcoinforum.orgFacebook : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sexcoin/334179413387490Sexcoin Twitter Account: @SexcoinTeam https://twitter.com/SexcoinTeamSexcoin NSFW Twitter Account: @Sexcoin_NSFW https://twitter.com/Sexcoin_NSFWReddit http://www.reddit.com/r/girlsgonesexcoin/ 18+! Pretty sure though the mining pools are broke The big problem I have had, is I don't have access to a linux server. The software for your normal pools won't run on windows. You can imagine how much not having code that compiled under linux easily stunted pool growth. Lavajumper has mentioned "his pool software" in a conversation so I'll check with him. His and Max's focus has been on fixing the syncing with a hardfork. The good news is that maybe we will see more pools, now that they can be set up easily

The pool at http://66.172.10.55:19337 is up and running, though because the pool is running the old client, the network hashrate isn't being reported properly I have about 1 M/h mining.. The pool looked dead, but the graphs show a jump in hashrate at about the same time the clients were released. It might be that nobody was mining on the pool, or it could be that the pool was having problems and just came back online ....

Great job getting this up and running again, thanks guys for all the hard work Pretty sure the mining pools are broke You know I haven't set up a P2P mining pool, But I don't think it would be that hard. I can't host where I am at because I rely on VSAT which means a lousy connection, theres over a second on the bounce to sydney off the satelite, but the infrastucture I need is within striking distance. I don't like the idea of having to travel so far to sort out problems, but then I might be able to sort them out with remote access. We are no stranger to natural disasters, the reason the pool not might be up is because the server is being used as a floatation device by a desperate pig, halfway to the coast in a torrent of water, and at those times you really don't need the stress of complaints.... But if miners are willing to beta test one, I'd have a crack at it ... Host the site on it.. Food for thought...

I've been mining it constantly for ages, with regular payouts (except when big miners joined in), last 2 days no blocks found, which at the current dif isn't realistic. I went off it when was pm'd its not working properly, when the client was released I jumped back on.

Normally I'm not a fan of altcoins but I can definitely see a utility in this. I'm a big fan of phonesex where the confirmation time of bitcoin just doesn't work.
How I see this working out, customer buys sexcoins with bitcoins (or whatever) and then when horny uses the sexcoins for things like phonesex, camgirls, clips4sale, etc.
With a 60 second confirmation time, even phonesex could work instantly because you can cut the customer off quickly if it becomes evident it is a double-spend attempt.
I'm going to take a look at building the code tomorrow and see if I can create an RPM spec file that work with Fedora. Unless someone else is already doing that.

Fantastic, I'm sure Max and Lavajumper would be willing to collaborate should you have any problems but the code sould be good to go.. Max posted the respository for the dependencies under the clients on github

Ok folks.. Kesley, I downloaded the P2P pool software and was just about to play with it, but my partner arrived home.. I'll have to chat to the rest of the crew regarding servers...I can't make that decision after we were arranging something else, but a new p2p pool is a priority so I'll see what we all think and where we want to go first and that may take a little while.. I'm going to be in the real world for the rest of the night, but I'll check in to make sure you aren't misbehavin'

The problem with coins and fedora is that fedora ships openssl compiled without ECC. I have OpenSUSE RPMs for various coins at https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Ap_conrad:coins (sexcoin still based on original source, but I'm working on moving to the new client repo). Update: new client builds available

Hey all, Let me first say, for everyone, thanks for hanging in there. Second, none of this would have been possible without some very hard work and insight from nomaxpi and LittleDigger, send them some sugar. Third, all of this would not have been possible without serious initiative from Bitcoin.Greece. He should get some sugar too. Fourth, this would all not even work if it weren't for everyone's support. Let's all get some sugar. I wanted to get out some quick notes I have on Linux compiles. These are not complete instructions, but information I collected while testing the new client. I hope to get more complete instructions put together, but I think these notes will help point all the Linux people in the right direction if you are running into difficulty. Right now, I am really speaking as a regular user, not as a member of the dev team. The compile throws a number of warnings. These are normal, but if the build breaks, here's what I've found: Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTSThe default version of Boost-dev is 1.46, you can manually upgrade it: sudo apt-get libboost1.48-all-dev
Then run the compile: cd src make -f makefile.unix
Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTSThe default version of Boost-dev is 1.40, and the easiest option here is to edit main.cpp.( If you don't mind frankensteining your system you might be able to find a ppd, or download the boost source for 1.48. You'll have to set the pathing in makefile.unix ) *A word of caution!!* (and mainly why I'm speaking as a User) I have been running the client with these changes successfully myself, (sending, receiving, mining and pool tests) but HAVE NOT been able to do EXHAUSTIVE testing. Although all my testing to date has shown this to be safe, and this is my main workhorse client, I MUST put out a disclaimer. This change is at your own risk at the moment.Here's the diff output: 16,17c16 < //#include <boost/random/uniform_int_distribution.hpp> < #include <boost/random/uniform_int.hpp> --- > #include <boost/random/uniform_int_distribution.hpp> 826,829c825,826 < //random::mt19937 gen(s); < boost::mt19937 gen(s); < //random::uniform_int_distribution<> dist(1, range); < uniform_int<> dist(1,range); --- > random::mt19937 gen(s); > random::uniform_int_distribution<> dist(1, range);
So edit the 'includes' section, then around line 826, make the above changes. Compile as above. Sexcoin-qt (GUI candy) To compile the Sexcoin-qt client in Ubuntu 12.04, I upgraded the Boost libs as above, and used synaptic to install QtCreator. If I recall correctly, all the dependencies I needed for the Qt build were installed with QtCreator. Use QtCreator to open the Sexcoin-qt.pro project, then click the 'build' button in the lower left corner. *Note* I had already pulled in dependencies like miniupnpc, boost, and BDB. YMMV. If you get stuck, I'll try to help you out as best I can. "But, Your client is SO BIG!"yeah. The default makefile creates a debug version. To run for production you have two options: 1) run strip against the binary: (I really hope the irony doesn't escape you!) OR 2) edit makefile.unix and recompile #DEBUG_FLAG=-g DEBUG_FLAG=
For Sexcoin-qt I found it much easier to run strip. I hope this helps!

Cool domain! I like the co.in www.sexcoin-wiki.com is not up to the best of my knowledge, and it belongs to Chinsu, or somebody else. We are still getting the new official website together. Its close, but not there yet, and we are still kicking around what domain we are going to use. We have secured the server space. I think the best thing to do for the time being is to link it to this thread. Keep watching. I can assure you it will be announced when its live!
