Personally, I will sell my coins depending on the coins itself. The short and long investment or trading also influence my decision to sell.

I look at how much the coin has grown and whether it has the prospects to grow further, then I decide whether to sell all or part and wait for further growth to earn even more, each has its own strategy

I would keep the major part of the coins till the next big pump. Any weak coins or small amounts of any coin can be sold anytime. Also it is nice to sell coins on big milestones - product release, exchange listing and so on...

I will sell altcoin when I get profit about 5% -10%. Because we will not know what will happen in the future. It could be after that the price will continue to rise or fall again. So we should take advantage when the price has risen according to our target. This I do for daily trading. If trading for the long term will probably still hold for a certain period according to our target as well. Happy trading

Buying altcoins at lower price. I sell those coins when i think i got 20% profit. That was huge enough for me and that was the time to sell those altcoins. Sometimes when i buy i got loss when the value of it goes down then that is also the time i will sell my coins.

I will sell my holdings at my desired price and convert it into bitcoin, I sell it on that price because I think I already have enough earnings to 50% of my investment and I won't regret on that even if the price will still up.

In my opinion, following the current price and trying to make new predictions about the new record prices according to old prices would be useful to choose a good time to sell altcoins. On the other hand, you should be very lucky to sell at the best time.

It's hard to tell when to sell the altcoins. Because if it is rising it can be tempting. But at the same time if you hold too long it may crash fast and then you have nothing for a while until it rises again.
If the price of Altcoin reaches in a high value that is the time that I sell my Altcoin because we can earn more profits.

Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss.
I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%. Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.
Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.
It depends on your target. I sell initial percentage of tokens in every small spikes or i sell it in one go if it suddenly pumps. Some wants to sell for a higher percentage thus waiting for a bit long, I am happy to sell whenever i see profit, though it hurts to see the coin go up once you sold it, but we can never know when is the peak most of the time. Same with me, when I see that the price increase even a bit, I sell my tokens, but not all. only some portion of it, and the others I just wait if the price will strike more, if not then I just keep it.

It depends on you that when you want to sell as there is no formula to calculate selling time. Whenever you achieve your target price, you can see your coins and take your profit.

This strategy helps, every updates that happen there's two possible things to happen, either dip or rise, if you will be able to analyze well then you can take the advantage, holding alts are very enjoying if you understand well the business, you can gain a lots of profits if you take more time to study the flow.

I will sell the coins I have when I reach the target price I want. If not, then I will hold it back. It can not be denied it takes patience to find the right price that you want, so prepare yourself not to panic easily.

Maybe in my opinion, it depends on the need and the right time to sell. So if I want to sell, I make sure the trend is going up and if it is in demand position saturated, then I immediately sell it, because usually after that there will be a significant price reduction

If my coin makes a profit of 288%, then I necessarily fix the profit. Since you do not know whether the coin will continue to grow. Then the coin can go to correction, and you buy it cheaper. Earlier I did not fix profit, and as a result I lost $ 20,000 in winter.

Normally, I sell altcoin when I need money to invest in another project or when I realize prices have gone up or down in an unsafe direction! In general, every decision is risky! I always consider it!

Most times when it has reached 100% profit that is when I sell my coins. Waiting further than this can be due to greed and while you are waiting for the prices to go up further, it might just end up falling back down again and then you are back to square one. You can also put a price tag on your coins and when they reach that target you can sell off your coins, this makes it easier in my opinion.

I don't like to take risks and try to sell my coins when I get a profit of 20 - 30%. the most important thing to have time to get out of the crypto currency and sell it at a good price.

I disagree that it would equally suck, because in one case you make 288% of profit, and if it crashes you not simply make small profit, you also lose whatever you had invested in it. So please, don`t be so greedy and not get mislead.
